Hey.
Well I wanted to try to get SiSi up and running on my comp. I read how to do it. Like this:
Create a separate folder for your test client ( i.e "C:\evetest"). Copy everything from your original EVE folder (by default locate at "C:\Program. Files\CCP" ) to the new ("C:\evetest"). This step is important, since patching the test client will render it incompatible with the Tranquility server. Go to this webpage to download patches for Singularity. Download the "Download TQ to Singularity Patch" or the Multiplicity one if you are going to test on that server. Apply the patch to the correct EVE installation such as "C:\evetest". You will be promted to point to the appropriate installation folder. Create a shortcut for the new eve.exe file inside C:\evetest. Right click on the shortcut and select properties, then select the Shortcut tab. add /server:87.237.38.50 for Singularity and press OK. The final look of the Target line would look something like this ( Different between client locations). "C:\evetest\eve.exe" /server:87.237.38.50. Then double click on the shortcut and log in.
The thing is I canŠt even find my CCP-folder with the game. Theres nothing on C:. And I have made it so I can see hidden maps etc. Still it doesnŠt show. When I search for CCP I get nothing, and when I search for EVE I only get my shortcut to the game. How the hell can I find my game on Windows 7 64-edition? I must be extremly stupid or something. Or maybe the game runs on my computer without even being instelled. :P Yeah right. Any help at all would be appreciated.

you need to take your original eve folder so the one that you use for tq at the moment and copy it to a new folder and patch it to use sisi
eq
if your eve folder is c:\program files\eve then copy that to c:\evetest or what ever you want and patch evetest with the tq to sisi patch
if your not sure where your eve is located goto the start menu find the eve entry then right click eve shortcut and select property's then goto the shortcut tab The only problem with Common Sense is it is not that common anymore |

Well apperently my game should be here: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Games But when I go there it still only shows the shortcut. And when I click properties I donŠt see any other place where the big CCP folder should be. So still I canŠt find the big a** folder so I can copy it to c:\evetest. So the only trace of me having the game is shortcuts. Annoying.

Edited by: Arous Drephius on 23/04/2010 15:21:58 You're on 64-bit so it'll be at C:\program files (x86)\CCP (assuming win7 is the same as vista).

Nope. Believe me. IŠve looked there as well. And when I hit properties on my eve shortcut, I only get the direction to my eve.exe. And the eve.exe properties doesnŠt show my aany direction to where my CCP folder might be. I did find a CCP folder under a greyed out map that is called ProgramData, but the sice on that CCP folder is 0.

I don't have windoes 7, but to find your CCP folder, try this:
Open the properties of your Eve shortcut on the desktop and copy the "target" location. Open "computer" and paste it there. Erase the "eve.exe" at the end and hit enter. This should open the CCP folder. Copy that folder to wherever you want.

Doing this, I got this direction: "C:\Users\Fredrik\eve.exe", wich I then took away the eve.exe part. But that sure didnŠt lead me to the CCP file. Just back to the eve.exe file and a bunch of other useless stuff. But thx for the suggestions.

If that is really where you managed to install your TQ client right in the middle of all your other user files then you will never be able to sort that mess out, better go for the full client download (http://www.eveonline.com/download/?s=singularity).

Well what I need to do before getting SiSi is getting the CCP folder copied and placed in evetest folder first? And that folder hasnŠt been found. I dunno what has happened. So I just uninstall it all and make sure it ends up where I can see it when I reinstall. Thx anyways. How do I en this thread?

also this confuses me:

where does it say the exe is? that's your ccp folder where the game is saved that's what you need. the programdata folder is where settings are saved.
Well I have uninstalled the game now. But the exe file didnŠt direct my to the CCP-folder. There were no shortcut to the CCP-folder from the properties of the eve.exe. But as I said. IŠm reinstalling it now, and I see it where it should be now. I honestly dunno what happened to the last folder. If I or someone else renamed it or what. But I should have foud stuff inside the folder when I searched for things with "eve" and "ccp" in it.

The eve.exe file only said the size of the eeve.exe file, and the location that it was on. Nothing else. It didnŠt have a shortcut tab or something like that. But as I said, I donŠt have it left now since IŠm downloading it again. And now it ends up where it should be. So no harm done. But thx for keeping the thread alive since I donŠt know how to end it. :P
