Edited by: DHB WildCat on 23/04/2010 15:07:51 This is me begging to you. We never got along even in Burn Eden so I guess this should ammuse you, but I care about my team this much.
Our executor has rage disbanded our alliance. We can put it back together in less a 24hr period. We understand your rules about the 60 day time period. So if you will not allow us a chance to compete, it will be understood.
However this is me as the team captain begging you to allow us to try to compete. We want to give the audience a show and we have a hell of a team that will rival any out there.
Please.

I was expecting this to happen to at least one team once the 60day rule was announced (well I was expecting team people to be kicked out of their alliance within the 60 days more so than a rage disband).
Good luck but I doubt the rules will be relaxed in this case...

From the standpoint of a team competing against you, I'm pretty happy about that.
But, from an impartial observer standpoint, that sucks, WildCat. Sorry to hear it, you guys would have given a good show. --

In the interests of having the best teams in the tournament, I would like them to compete. Also because Wildcat is a top guy who cares about the tourney.
I can't help but laugh a bit at Shinma though

I think it's a shame for this sort of thing to happen, but i'm also not a fan of rules being relaxed for specific people, so i will admit that although i'd be asking the same thing as Wildcat if the same happened to my alliance and i genuinely sympathize with him, it would be wrong of CCP to allow it.
CCP and the memberbase knew the risks of the 60 day rule when it was announced and TeaDaze even outlined it several times on the forums so that people would be aware of it. If this is allowed, then i want my mate to be allowed in the tournament too when he re-applies to my corp in a few days because he's a good pilot and really wants to be in the tournament as well, but now can't because he was kicked out suddenly and is now not eligible.
As will about 100 other people.
Once again though, sorry about your situation Wildcat. Please understand i'm not against you, but against favouritism and rule-bending.

/signed for Wildcat, Exceptions are a b**ch, especially when there are limited slots and etc. But at the same time, it is also a b**ch when something out of your control shuts down your own ability to compete in something you've been prepping for months toward.
Hope you get in Wildcat.

It would be p. wrong for CCP Claw to make an exception for his old corp mates. It would also be unfair to the many alliances who have followed the rules and would lose their position to people who know ccp employees.
If some bug or something disbanded your alliance then yeah I see an exception being made.
But that is not what happened. Your alliance executor rage-disbanded your alliance. This means that the members of the alliance ticked him off and he got revenge. Working as intended imo. You know the rules and you did something dumb anyways. HTFU.

While it was a pretty silly move having a temper tantrum pre-tourney, the 60 day rule is arbitrary nonsense and I want to see what you can do this year. Considering all the chest beating on the forums lately there should be some interesting fights ~_~

They don't like each other, so that's hardly a factor, he'd be making the exception for a strong team that got screwed over and whose participation would make for a better tournament. (who also dislike him and constantly flame him on eve-o forums)
Anyways not like they'd get a guaranteed in, just the same chance everyone else had who applied on time (which they did).
I don't really think CCP will make an exception, but I do think they should.

Thank you to everyone for all their support. I am still waiting for a reply from CCP. As stated before I know and understand the rules. I am hopeful that we will be allowed to try and participate this year. However I do understand we may not be allowed to and will harbor no grudge towards the men and women in charge of this excellent event.
Once again thank you everyone for all the kind words. We may play the villain in the game, but I hope to provide fun fights and entertainment for everyone as well.
I will continue to hope for the best.
Here's to a great tourney with or without us.

The spirit of the rule is so that xyz alliance does not make 12 alliances then just pile into the one that got in for the alliance tourney or so that xyz alliance does not field 5 teams. If the corporation returns to said alliance then the rule should allow it. If they want to follow the spirit of the rule then it should be allowed since it does not violate that if they want to follow the letter of the law then it wont. Shame it happened and I hope if we rejoin the alliance we would be able to compete if not there is always the next tourney. |

actually, the spirit of the rule is to make sure you get the people you want into an alliance and work together. The problem here is, if you start making exceptions for horribly overrated PVPers then where do you draw the line?
What I find funny is that people are backing a guy who's begging his friend at CCP to break the rules...i'd be willing to bet most of you also looked down on the whole Band of Devs scandal.
Rules are rules. It's not CCPs fault you got into bed with someone who you couldnt fully trust to keep an alliance together. TBH if you cant keep an alliance together for 60 days, you dont deserve a spot in the tourney.
Anyway, these guys never practiced, so their showings in the AT would be atrocious. |

oh dear... not that i rly care at this point (if they let us in it's fine, if not - ill just move to diferent alliance and do my stuff) but there's a diference in reforming alliance and give them back their space AND reforming it cuz one dumb kid though it's epicly funny to kill every1s 60day period cuz he felt threatened by some1 and was close to lose the power he held over the others
theres a major diference for me at least, 1st year they introduced this rule and ppl knew some1 gonna be screwed over yet noone did ****

Tbh the 60 day rule is absolutely ******ed.
However, if Voltron get to play now, it sets a precedent. Whine enough on the forums, and you'll be able to overturn the rules, should it be like that?
Personally i don't think so.

FYI, I'm going to tell them to reform their alliance and allow them to play.
The spirit of the rule is to curb the effect of alt alliances and team hopping. We have made exceptions before for people who have been in similar circumstances with alliances disbanding due to things like not paying bills, but they were less forum-oriented alliances so you probably haven't heard as much about it.
