This "solution" would do absolutely NOTHING for the macromining problem.
Simple update: when the macro instance receives a duel, warp back to base, dump current load, come back. Drive on. From witnesses, there are already macros that do this when they hear "macro" in conversation/chat.
So now you have a macro that can out-last your "quota" of duels per day. So the only solution is to raise that limit. Of course, they can out-last any quota of less than unlimited. So now you have everyone running around with unlimited duels.
And there you have the griefers. No dedicated miner is safe anywhere anymore, because all it takes is some dork wandering up in a frigate duelling people to run them off, thanks to this "warp away to refuse" foolishness. Might as well throw away CONCORD.
This whole idea WON'T WORK. It is COMPLETELY INEFFECTIVE. Many people seem to be trying to tell you that, and you keep brushing them off with "you must be a macro-miner" or "you're just a carebear". Why don't you throw in some "you're a communist!" for some old-school McCarthyism?

Im sorry but a lot of this is rediculous, im not a full miner a carebare or a pirate. The game system states that you are safe from from 0.5 and up, if you want risk got to 0.4 or below. If i want pvp i play pvp, if i want to mine, i mine, if i want to trade, guess what, i trade. if i want to be afk in a belt because i had to leave my computer, then i will be afk. Why should i lose this right and have to **** around getting somewhere when the space im in is safe? I invest time in this two have fun and i do do player interaction, im in a corp, but if i dont want it for whatever reason, why should i have to put up with it? The idea is good but as a solution to the original problem its poor. This is not our job to fix the exploit its the game designers. I play for fun not profit at the expense of my wallet, why should i and others who play similar styles to me ie: very casual have to put up with interferance to this. As you know anything in life that can be abused to hurt others, is used just like in this game, and this would be abused.
On a further note to my knoledge you can pvp in empire, you simply gang with someone, or is having to have your pray not accept you offer to much to bear. To the original thread starter, interesting idea but i believe it is very ill suited to the task.

Well I suppose the real problem is people who have a couple of accounts, mine using a script (macro) and flog their isk on e-bay. I'm sure CCP can (and should) stop them. |

I do think something needs to be done - but I do not think this is the solution.
You quoted another post and wrote that you totally agree with this. So maybe you should learn to read before you agree with someone else, hm?
There is nothing to do for a griefer in these duels. The problem are people that are to lazy to warp to a safespot and people that do macromining and dont like my idea. That¦s because these duels would end macromining . If i would be a macrominer i would try to destroy this idea as fast as possible. So this is the macrominer-comming-out-topic
I did not read that post I quoted as accusing you of whining at all - I read his points and agreed with them. I do not think this is a good solution. I do however agree with your principals of trying to stop macro mining but I just don't think this is a good solution. The macro miners can easily recover from the loss of a ship and pod etc....but it is harder to cope with the loss of an account...
I do hope that you are not implying that just because I do not like this particular solution that I am a macro miner?

There is one fatal flaw in your otherwise stupid idea. Safespots can be found. With the introduction of sensor probes, anyone can be found with reasonable ease.
Miner warps to "safespot" to go AFK for 5 minutes and gets caught up in other things Player X comes along and starts scanning using probes for the Miner. Player X finds the Miner and challenges them to a duel. Player X ganks Miner while they are AFK without being ganked in turn by Concord or taking a security hit. A crime without punishment. Miner finally gets back, sees they have been ganked, and curses Player X.
So that idea could not be safely implimented in empire (0.5 above) space. Concord exists to keep PVP OUT of empire. You wanna kill stuff, stay in 0.4 or lower. ====================================

If not stopping them why not add a macro patch?
Where can I get a macro for mining? We'll need it for POS', mining ice is boring and the requirements hellahigh.
