1. you have multiple extractors connected to single processor, and total output of greater than processor can consume? 2. the production is already in progress, ingredients for next cycle are at 100% and new materials are scheduled? (either from storage, processor, or extractor) 3. extractor produces more than 6000 units per 15 min cycle, but processor can consume only 6000 units per 30 min cycle? (what about the materials from other cycle) 4. advanced processor has steady intake of commodity 1, but irregular (missing cycles) of commodity 2?

1. If this is going to happen it may be advisable to link the extractor to a storage unit, so the excess backs up into the storage unit.
2. The extra units will be stored in the storage unit till needed.
3. same question as the rest really..build a storage facility to store the excess.
4. it will wait till it has enough of commodity 2 to begin..
basically build a storage facility to hold excess.

Thanks. That answers one part of the question: storage acts as buffer for processing facility. In case you link directly from extractor or processor, I assume the resources will be lost?

Same as if u have unrouted extraction as i understand... Use storages in the middle between extractors and processors... Because until there will be place to put materials into processor, storage will store it, but if u do it without storage u lose materials... ------------------------------------------------- I am envoy from nowhere in nowhere. Remember too that a single storage unit can function as a central overflow for an entire production chain if all routes go through that one storage unit. Helps save on CPU/GRID issues.

You should assume it's unoptimal way of doing things. I've arranged a pair of explanatory screenshots to illustrate the issue. That's the best of what I came up with so far. -- Thanks CCP for cu |
