I've installed EVE with the offline installer on my computer with a Nvidia GTX260 graphics card. The game runs for a while and then crashes with the error;

Any help is very appreciated!

Have you set Wine to emulate a virtual desktop? If not, that is probably what is causing the crash, especially if you have Compiz running.

Yeah, it should help. Worked for me when EVE kept crashing. I think it was called the refocus bug? Not sure though.

Yep, the virtual desktop workaround is for an Eve bug on focus reactivation.
Those are normal messages for Eve on Wine. You aren't seeing the real reason for the crash.
One other possibility is the jukebox. Renaming the jukebox resource directory fixes it.

There are two ways.
The first is to use winecfg to set eve.exe to run in a Virtual Desktop at the same size as your screen.
The 2nd is to mess with the Launcher code, as detailed in the evelopedia.

Thank you! found the little check mark to put that together. Though it makes it where I can launch more that one client. I followed the terminal launch to get more eve clients that I can move around workspaces.
Any other tweaks you would suggest for running dual monitor running in seperate x

Other than Separate Installs for each account in their own Wine Prefixes to prevent Cache assplosions, not much really.
