This is my view on how to fix the Capital and Super Cap issue we seem to have in game.
1) Remove anything bigger than a Large Remote Repair (shield or armor) 2) Remove the ship bonus off of anything bigger than the cruisers (keep cruisers as they are)
Now... hear me out...
At this moment, there is no risk in using a Dread, Titan or other Capitals on the field when you have a far larger number of capitals / super caps in the field, the simple fact that you have enough Carriers Remote Repping you means you will never die, and you opponent, try as he might, will never break "your" tank. By removing the ability for carrier to Remote Rep you to near immortality, you will be vulnerable to even a decent size BS fleet.
Roles: (as i see them) Sub-Cap = Their role is to secure territory, and make it safe for the big guns to grind down POS/Station/what ever.
Dresds = Their sole purpose should be to help make something with massive HP go down faster. NOT dictate the outcome of the battle. (this is why they cannot have massive Reps on them) They should be brought into the Battle Field when the Sub-Cap fleet has secured the system.
Carriers = By removing their ability to Remote Rep, they can now be used for purposes that their name implies. They can now be used to carry additional ships that allies (who have lost their own ships) can use. Not to mention the addition of their DPS to the battle field. ( I would also go as far as suggesting two additions a) the use of Battleship guns , b) the ability to equip 3 Command modules, this frees up Command Ships to be used in small skirmish warfare and smaller support fleets).
I have heard many times over how a system was lost not because one side killed off the other, but because a Cap fleet was dropped, the station was flipped with the assests still inside. What i suggest would increase RISK to the Dreads and Titans, making it so a well armed fleet can jump in and engage the Dreads, and even if the enemy fields a large support fleet to cover the Dreads/Titans, the fear of a suicide fleet warping in to take them out should be enough to keep them behind the lines until it is safe. |

Do you know what a Siege module is and how it works regarding remote reps ?

Yes, we've all ~heard~ lots of things. What's your ACTUAL experience here ?
Don't get me started on the rest of your suggestions. It wouldn't be pretty.

Yes, i have heard of Siege Mode, and i've got Zero experience with these ships. But i'm looking at this from a Blob perspective based on what i've read and seen thru battle reports.
I'm not posting FACTS in this thread, i'm posting an Idea. |

More garbage.
See, I stopped right there because I have a much better idea than nerfing the existing caps into oblivion, yet again.
Stop screwing with the existing hulls completely.
Add more capital hulls. Increase the risk to sub-caps and caps with new specialized variants. |

OP... dreds and carriers cannot receive any remote assistance while in siege/triage mode. Plus... when out of siege mode, Dreads deal the same damage as a gank battleship or two... and battleships can speed tank dreds without any propulsion module. Carrier's can barely deal the same amount of damage as a "standard" battleship (on paper, no less) and cannot use any drones at all when in Tirage mode. Change isn't bad, but it isn't always good. Sometimes, the oldest and most simple of things can be the most elegant and effective. |

I understand the mechanics, i understand that they are vulnerable. But not enough.
Systems should be secured so you can then take over the station and or nuke the POS, and in turn possibly win the war. Not the other way around. Siege mode can be deactivated and at that point you can get goddly reps.
The point of a war is profit and good fights. Not OR good fights. Rolling into a system taking it with little resistance because you have no caps, have to few to counter your opponent and or lack a massive number of players to.break the reps with sub-cap takes away from the fighting. |

And even after that ~in theory~ it takes about 20-25 (skilled) supercarriers to alphastrike a dreadnought.
Glitch Online wrote:would increase RISK to the Dreads So nowadays dreads aren't afraid of supercaps, another dreads, and subcaps with neutralizers?
Glitch Online wrote:the fear of a suicide fleet warping in to take them out should be enough to keep them behind the lines until it is safe. We already technically can drop a fleet onto dreads and start killing them, forcing them either to die honorably shooting the primary, or to go out of siege, lose a couple of dreads while the siege is red and then rely on RR to survive while their support fleet kicks the **** out of ours. But wait, you can inhibit the siege if you kill the support fleet first. Provided that, you can hold the dreads out of siege as long as you like. So, the non-suicide dreads currently are 'brought into the battlefield when the subcap fleet has secured the system'.
If you don't like the Spidertank of Immortality of the supercaps then it's another issue, which is related to supercaps and their omgwtf EHP and DPS/EHP ratio, not the RR. |

I don't to tell yo the truth. I also don't like the roll carriers play atm. That is why i suggest eliminating XL remote rep and eliminating rep bonus off of all but the cruisers.
As i have mentioned before,I've never flown a cap, and am a long way from one. That doesn't mean i shouldn't post suggestions/ideas thou. |

Cool, so you know absolutely nothing about capitals or supercapitals, but presume to know that a problem exists, what it looks like and how to solve it! Nice!

Better idea: Disallow RemRep to be applied to Titans for a short duration after using a DDD. This will force Titans to commit to fights rather than the endless stream of disposable, insured Triage to keep them up. Some other mechanism needs to be engineered for Supercarriers, perhaps a ship with smartbomb bonuses. |

You seem to be missing the point that this is an "Idea". I've never said this is full of Facts or that this MUST be done. Despite the fact that i've said this several times on this post, you continue to reply what others have more or less already stated. So who is really wasting "hard drive" space here? |
