1. Taking the space away from a space game by having planet game play.
2. Changing 1 ship model, that is it one ship?
3. Warcraft like calendar?
waste of an expansion... you'd think they'd just fix the broken stuff instead of adding more broken stuff.
1. where in the patch notes did it say they are taking away space? are they removing 100 systems? planets are a part of space too. 2.this time, they are testing the waters to see how it will fare. plus, that ship was butt ugly to start with. 3.Warcraft can't have a good idea once in a while? it will be good for scheduling ops, when to refule towers, so on..
just because they didn't do what you like, does not mean it is a bad expansion.

Ehh?
The map. The overview. The windowing system. The inventory system, hangar and container management. Sound. POS management. Sov system. Desync. Socket disconnect.
You're easily pleased. Unless you are using a definition of broken which means doesn't exist in game in any meaningful way at all (like large fleet fights).

Ehh?
Let me reiterate.
The map.) Works fine for me. I open it and it shows me all the places I can go and has tons of information to interpret.
The overview.) A bit buggy yes especially when you first warp into a fight with all the colors getting screwed up. But a quick double click solves that. Could use some performance and bug fixing but its hardly broken.
The windowing system.) Again it works for me. Windows stay were I put them and take up minimal space with their tiny borders and top.
The inventory system, hangar and container management.) They have made some strides in that area with searchable containers and hangers. Plus a messy but easy way to see the contents of containers in distant stations is to repackage them. Then all the stuff shows up in assets. Again could use some more tweaking but is hardly broken.
Sound.) Eve has sound? Seriously I turned sound off a week into the game and never turned it back on. It has no relevant function gameplay wise except to make it hard to hear your music or the fc on vent. So yeah maybe it is 'broken' but I still wouldn't use it even if it met everyones approvel.
POS management.) Royal pain in the arse? **** yeah..(research oriented stuff comes to mind here especially.D-:) Broken? Well all this moon goo profit has to come from somewhere now doesn't it.
Sov system.) How could anyone possibly judge the new sov system when all they can do with it atm is nap up and farm the new infrastructure stuff like the pirate magnates. So no, the sov system seems to be a step in the right direction especially with letting smaller entities into nullsec and setting up shop. Ironically though the crushing fleet lag has had faaaaaaar more to do with that bit of success than the actual sov mechanics due to the iniability to actually fight at the needed levels to change sov.
Desync.) I don't have those issues. Though I am lucky in that I have a very good internet provider that basically puts me on a backbone all the way to the london servers. Customers of other isp's might not be so fortunate and suffer the internet shuffle of bouncing all over the place to get to the servers. Or it could be a router issue as a few years ago I was having constant desync and discos but after a firmware update for the router it went away as soon as I rebooted.
Socket disconnect.) See Desync.

I think a quick perusal of the current gd would disuade that opinion.

What other way is there to define broken? Broken=Does not work. Fleet fights are broken because even the ones that might be considered non-blobby by pre-dominion standards crawl to a stop or simply won't load the grid.

1.) This has to do with DB issues and *might* speed up things overall in the universe 2.) I'm sure more will come 3.) EVEGate is not only a calendar ________________________

Oddly enough, with the insurance rework plus Planetary POS (I mean Interaction), Tyrannis will be a much more "industrial" patch than QR
TBH all CCP have to do to make Tyrannis a success is improve lag back to Apocrypha levels. Anything on top of that is gravy.

Edited by: Neutrino Sunset on 14/05/2010 15:17:15 Zeba: If you think all the stuff I mentioned is all working fine I can only presume that's because when you click a button you see something happen, if that's good enough for you then fair enough. But if you dig just a little deeper you find tonnes of stuff like this.
The Map
Map option to display corp mates in space doesn't display anything at all.
Getting the station info to popup on mouse over is like a mini game all of its own, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.
Why can't I have a button or a key binding to open the bloody map I want. It's bad enough that it takes so long for the map to load in the first place, but having to load the star map before I can then switch to the system map is a paragon of r3tarded UI design.
The so called 'seamless' map misses the most important aspect that would actually make it 'seamless' and finally useful, i.e. having the view in the system map synchronised with the 3D view so you can actually use it to line up directional scanning.
In many systems it isn't even possible to zoom in close enough to discriminate between a planet's moons, and far enough out to place probes at long range effectively.
The Overview
Half the time the overview doesn't even update the enabled state of its icons, and in order to be able to do something to an object you should be able to, you have to click randomly around in the client like a monkey trying to get the overview to recognise whatever state it's supposed to be in. Has been this way forever. Plus of course the ubiquitous overview entries appearing for stuff that doesn't even exist.
The Windowing System
Every time I switch from windowed to full screen mode my windows are all in random places.
The overview does not stick to the bottom of the selected item window, when the selected item window resizes itself to display extra info about some selected item it either overlaps the overview, or pushes it out of position and then leaves it orphaned. Same with most other windows that are supposed to stick together.
Chat tabs do not stay in the order I put them in.
AutoHide the toolbar has never worked, when enabled it randomly pops up when you jump through a gate and then you have to manually hide it again by first clicking on the toolbar and then clicking in space.
The camera resets its position everytime you jump through a gate.
The Inventory System
Fitted ships cannot be organised in any way and must remain in root hangar.
Containers cannot be nested inside other containers.
You can't do anything with stuff in containers anyway and to perform even simple tasks you have to move everything out of the container and into the root hangar. In many cases you even have to move stuff from continers in the corp hangar into your personal hangar before you can even do anything with them.
Container operations at Hangar Arrays at POSes are even more horrific requiring industrial ships with large cargobays on hand and guys who can fly them to do anything at all.
Sov System
Ask the SC vs NC guys whether sov is working. Or instead just check dotlan and notice that about 90% of the sov that has changed hands since Dominion has been due to administrative c.o.c.k ups or the most almighty dogpiling up rather than actual combat between entities of comparable size. New sov system isn't helping anyone.
