Hello,
Yup. It's that time again. But before you get all cranky on me about yet another thread concerning this, let it be known that this post is an attempt to give CCP an idea of what grinds my gears about it. If you are happy with the changes and are unwilling to enter into this discussion with positive feedback; move along. This thread does not welcome you. Hopefully I will express some concerns here that people agree with and maybe we can get some changes made to it.
I am not sure why this new system was implemented. Sometimes a developer just has to make changes to things. Meh. Whatever. It's in the game and it doesn't look like it is just going to vanish suddenly and we will return to the completely satisfactory way things have been done for 9 years.
I do not want to hear about "bots" and "macroers" and all the rest of the "reasons" why this new system exists. I do not care, nor is it relevant. Much like all rules and changes, they usually only end up screwing over the people that aren't breaking any rules or abusing things. Just like in Real Life. Sad. So, I give three banana peels about how this is "supposed to help alleviate blah blah blah". I don't care. This is a discussion that attempts to point out the papercuts experienced while using it.
*waves goodbye to the Old WayGäó and grudgingly holds the door open for this new tennant...
Let's just get started here:
- Could you please fix it so that the "My Filters" section does not auto pop-up every single time I open the left-hand menu/list?
- Can you please fix it so that when I click the little arrows to minimize the "My Filters" section that I do not have to click it twice?
- Can you at least try and think of a way that we can control our inventory windows to some degree in regards to having more than one open? I think pinning should allow us to hold open a window if we choose. Some of us aren't botting!
- Can we please fix the code that "remembers" where things are placed on our UI?
- Is it possible that we could drag a window from the list to open a new one? Again: some of us aren't botting!
- Can we please be able to have Corp Hangars be a totally separate entitiy? Can this be an option? Even if I were a macrominer, I'm not sure that the Corp Hangars even has an impact here outside of some asshat using a capital industrial.
Some of the following may or may not be associated with the new inventory system. But I'm going to talk about them anyways. Here are some Spicy Chicken Nuggets from Wendy'sGäó for anyone who is butthurt over choosing to read this crap.
- Can we please have the UI remember that I had the Items tab (merged into my station services window) open when I undocked?
- Can we please not have the UI lose focus on the window I am using during a session change? I would really like to expand on this idea here:
Back In The DayGäó, one could start typing in a chat window and continue to type during a session change and everything seemed to go fine. NowGäó one loses the focus on the active chat window and I have to grab the mouse again, and click back into the text box to continue typing. Annoying Level 9000. Whatever the hell you did, please return it to the Old WayGäó.
I think that is pretty much it for now. I'm sure there are a few things I forgot, or made a mistake on. Thankfully there is an EDIT button for these forums and I will be allowed to change or redact any errors.
Thank you for your time! Enjoy the chicken nuggets.

I believe that's twice now you've failed to place the thread in the proper forum.
Please, for the sake of OCD stricken organizationalists everywhere, go biomass yourself immediately.
Then again, you probably can't hear any of us over your fingers in your ears and the constant drumming of "la la la la" to drown out the sound of common sense. |

1. No because this feature is really good, and I like it. It's useful. 2. Doubleclicking is a good deterrent against accidental clicking, this is a good feature. 3. No, because the current way is the best way. It's really handy. 4. Why? The defaults are the best configuration, customization would just make things worse when the system is already pretty well crafted. 5. No. 6. Uhh, they call it UNIFIED inventory for a reason! It's a good feature, this has to stay. |

Op, some of your points are good. It would be a better use of your time to add them to an already F&I thread on this topic so that it has a greater chance of being seen by someone that can do something about it.
I'll pass on the Wendy's.

That is racist, but probably true...
Seriously, the Wendy's restaurants near me are terrible in almost every conceivable way. So perhaps it is just my area. I remember when I was a kid, I did like Wendy's, but they had a taco bar then, and that is the only thing I would eat there.
I believe more restaurants need Taco Bars. That is what this thread is about now. "The human body can be drained of blood in 8.6 seconds, given adequate vacuuming systems." |

Thought about F&I. But then I saw the Issues, Workarounds & Localization thread. Because, yes, it is a discussion "about a feature". But, no, it is not a suggestion for a feature. True, it is a discussion that has ideas. But it is not a topic about a new idea. This is when I noticed the IW&L forum. Because at it's nature, the topic is about issues with the new inventory system. It also suggests workarounds. Localization does not come into play for this topic.
So, this is why the post was made in GD, and not one of the other OPTIONS.
If a moderator deems this post belongs in another forum, they will move it there. Until then, just discuss your opinions about my original post.
Thank you,

Yeah, for real... What DID happen to taco bars??? You could make a taco salad or maybe a burrito or taco, and make it exactly the way you wanted it. Those were a hell of a great concept. Any restaurant owner worth his or her salt would be smart to bring that idea back.
Damn, brings back old memories. I remember even RAX had a taco bar in the 80's

Blasphemy. I cannot think of a single restaurant that wouldnt be improved by a Taco Bar. Although I undstand your opinion may be different and honor your right to express it. "The human body can be drained of blood in 8.6 seconds, given adequate vacuuming systems." |

Right? I mean when did businesses as a whole star this anti taco campaign. I'll tell you what would get me back in a Wendy's...bring back the taco bar. I would eat at the grimiest Wendy's in the world while sitting right next to a diseased crack *****, if it meant taco bars are back. Have to agree with this. In Washington DC there is a Mexican Sushi fusion restaurant called Zengo. That place is the best. At least it was there a few years ago; haven't been back to DC since to find out.
The beauty of taco bars are they go with everything. It is an isolated island of pure bliss and magic. Does not matter what else the rest of the business sells, the taco bar is a self contained unit packed with deliciousness.
I think we need to escalate this. Now I want a taco bar in my office! Why should I be deprived of scrumptious taco heaven because the man says I need to work 9-5. "The human body can be drained of blood in 8.6 seconds, given adequate vacuuming systems." |
