Well for the 7 yrs I have been playing Prov has always been a ghetto..... there was just a change in slum lords from one to many.
Having been a member of Sylph, LFA and CVA I can say they all paid thier own bills, worked thier own space, did thier own thing. Pax, Aegis and a few others added to the mix, there were always many. Now there are dots on the map and no pilots in space. R3, N8, XR3 would have a minmum of 75 people 23/7. Kari Gate was always busy. Not any more. If 20 people showed up in R3, IT and -A- would log on thier alts and run them off.
I dont mind. CVA is a legacy alliance. Sylph, Pax, LFA, Aegis, they built Prov. I said 5 months ago Prov would get outpost farmed. None of this came as a surprise to me. If Ushra'Khan or IT think they got respet or got rep or who the hell knows? Its CVAs legacy and it always will be. They were only slum lords because nobody else could do what they did on the budgets they had.

Anyway, that's pretty much our solution.
Dont be surprised to wake up one day and find that this attitude is reversed and is aimed towards yourself. When that happens I hope for your sake that the ruler of the universe will forgive you when you repent.

Considering the current average level of mental and social abilities in and around New Eden, we need more propagators for NRDS and decent behaviour. I dont care what you think, but New Eden deserves better than to be ruled by people who just want to blow things up.
so yes i can see your dream......macro ice miners in 0.0 and belt ratters and miners all sitting safe and snug, oh btw market and trade as you know it whold die due to your tree hugging hippe dream m8
6 years of NRDS Provi, New Eden didnt crash and burn in a nightmarish carebear hell. Nobody macro mined, not for very long. Too many wannabe null sec pirates for that. All the macro mining goes on in the 70 system megacorps because nobody will get near the hub before someone spots them.
Got any more utter rubish you want to lay on us? |

God forbid there is a place in Eve where small gang roaming skirmish PVP can flourish. It's refreshing to be able to fly around and not see that 80 person old school proviblob camping a gate thinking they where having the pvp experience of a lifetime.
Once the provi reset occurs and the current holders are ready to focus on pvping each other and not napping to deal with cva/pxf it may even feel like the old days in eve where a small gang of 5 or so can roam, fight, kill and die and while having good times.
Teach new players the value of small gang pvp and not the idea that you need to be in a gang of 100 with 25 logistics to have fun.
No.
what I see happening is every pet alliance and thier dog who think they want to be a Sov holder will trade systems with the ones that are there now. Each set including the ones that are there now will figure out that being a Sov holder is about as fun as being a secretary at a dental office. After some time, CVA will recover most of thier systems, not including the Kari pipe because the Kari Pipe fetish is 5 years old and -A- and Atlas will absorb the cost of it for some imaginary reason. Provi is poor null sec. It survived on the ISK created from NRDS policy and we saw alot of Outposts and no super caps. NRDS or NBSI, Provi will never build its own Titans or super caps or will do so at 5% of the rate other null sec areas of EvE will and will always be subject to the bad mood of any Supercap alliance with a notion to take it. Just like U'K couldnt take it for 7 years without -A- and Atlas, U'K wont hold it without -A- and Atlas. They will get tired of running to the rescue for bad space. The only people who ever truly wanted Provi was CVA. Everyone else just didnt want them to have it for no obvious reason other than it gave them something to hate that they might actually be able to confront. |

Originally by: Cordin Hamir I call shenanigans on this. I am fed up hearing people go on about 'small gang' warfare and 'proviblobs'. The impression given by guys like S21 Duch is that in the 'old days' bold groups of brave individuals went roaming around Providence and Catch looking for tough pvp and the response was always a huge blob of ships. Further this type of individual promulgates a view that Catch/Providence was full of macro-miners trying to mine away in peace and only the brave small gang guys stopped them. I spent two years out that way (other char Arcin Hamir, half pvp/half PoS feeding and ratting) and that is NOT how I recall it. Yes there were small gangs roaming but invariably what they were after were lone individuals that they could 'blob' very quickly or mining ops that they could destroy. The attacking groups were very hard to counter, most were skilled pilots and given they were prepared and fast moving any quick response was likely to be piece meal and likely to be destroyed, equally the fast ships used could easily run straight through small groups or camps (that is of course when they did not just cloak or log off) - thus often the response tended to end up as a large group (proviblob) as the only simple counter. I have no problems with any of this, it was and is a valid tactic usually executed by skilled pilots, but given the intent of the attacking groups was normally to 'blob' (i.e. massively outnumber/outgun) single individuals and then run off they can hardly then complain if others try to outnumber/outgun you! On the mining front any macro miners in that area would have lasted zero time and as the rocks in Catch/Providence are no better than those in empire why would they ever bother?
Pretty much and the idea that Dominion made Provi any better is rubbish. Our CVA corp was Sov holder in a system and we had it set up to spawn Plexes. 6/10 Plexes, just more. Thats what Dominion did for Prov.
I'm not concerned with convincing anyone of anything. Let -A- and their welfare buddies find out for themselves. |
