That would be this great track.
But if we're talking about awesome music in the game, this one takes the cake for me, an makes me want to badass all over the place. I fully expect it to show up in EVE videos soon. Triggernometry

Yes indeed. That was the song, and the second is quite good as well. I would love to say that when the first song started playing I felt one of those great moments in video games, where you feel truly and utterly immersed in the feeling of the game. Even though it broke the realism, it just felt.... perfect...

One of the best moments so far: standing around after being accused of cheating at cards while aiming guns at each other in mexico, surrounded by mexicans, one american and one german, and the guy saying "there must be a name for this..." and the other guy saying "an impasse, sir, an impasse" and winking, us as the audience knowing it's now referred to tongue-and-cheek as a mexican standoff

Edited by: Gibbo3771 on 22/05/2010 09:09:16 RD: Revolver was pretty damn ****e tbh, sure it was open world but the world was tiny and boring, repetitive.
Try Oblivion or Fallout, thats what a real open world is.
Also its made by rockstar, they care about their customers less than CCP (thats bad btw)

Red Dead Revolver is nothing like Red Dead Redemption. Nor was it open world. It was a moderately fun, highly stylized action game. It wasn't miraculous but it was fun.
Red Dead REDEMPTION is amazing.
I don't disagree with Fallout 3 and Oblivion/Morrowind being incredible for different reasons though.

dont mean to be a sour plum but I have not looked deeply into Red Dead Redemption but I will most likely never play it due to RD:Revolver being moderately boring and it is made by rockstar, I have lost all faith in Rockstar games after they released GTA4, they just dont care anymore and their customer support is godly awful, its been 2 years since GTA4 was ported over to PC and they have released about 2 patches that dont fix a fukin thing that is important. I have a top end machine and i can barely run it, yet a mate of mine has a less powerful machine and runs it just fine. I have seen people with GTX295's and i7 systems and it runs @ 20fps, then some little smart ass with a 8800GTS and a Amd phenom 3ghz runs it at 60....i seriously have no faith and now I am angry lol
I will never buy a game made by that company again lol
I would also say RD revolver was an "attempt" at a very small and highly limited open world.

I don't recall anything open-world about that game. Then again, it's been quite awhile. I just remember coasting from level to level as I completed the objectives it wanted me to. I also remember it being a very fun action game for it's time, with lots of grit & great presentation. You mention GTA4, which I loved quite a bit (though the biker expansion was much more interesting gameplay). But it is worth mentioning that it was a less interesting game world than say... "San Andreas" from the previous generation of GTA games.
I can't say I sympathize. That was EVERY pc gaming experience i've ever had, no matter what kind of machine I had or how well maintained it was/configured. I gave up and switched to mostly console playing and i've been infinitely happier since (not to mention having an excuse to stop my butt from being office chair shaped and go lounge on the couch once in awhile).

From metacritic: "Why is Red Dead Redemption so good?" was the link I followed to get to this..
http://features.metacritic.com/features/2010/red-dead-redemption-inside-the-reviews/
They quote ars technica as indicating 360 version is a little nicer looking than the PS3, for those that it matters to. But I also read that there is an exclusive area/mission/something or other that PS3 people have access to.

Knowing Rockstar, I wonder if there is a mission where we get to **** the horses, ride off on the women and prune the hedges of many small villages. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

I bought gta4 off steam for $5 but I use a 360 wired pad to play it. I will probably get rdr for pc when it eventually comes out just so I can apply uber aa and af levels at 1920x1080. Though I do think the ps3 version has 2x aa enabled as there are very little jaggies to be found especially if you are moving.

They apparently had an easier time with the graphics on the 360... Odd, but games are like that. Some are better on the ps3, some for some odd reason are better on the 360 even though it has crappier hardware. Probably has to do with the cards, like how an Nvidia and ATI card of similar quality perform differently on the same game.
Looks amazing on the 42inch 1080p TV I have though
