Has anyone thought to possibly launch an expeditionary fleet to the Nation regions and simply strike them at their heart once again? I believe that might do something to stem this unwanted tide of visitors.

Well, if I am, so are the few thousand others out here in nul security space thinking the same thing.

And tell me what would merit such an attack?
Do you plan to destroy all those who stand by the empires? Those who are employed by the empires? Those who live in the Empires, peacefully?
You may see some of, or all of, them as enemies, but you hold no power compared to the might of any single Empire alone.
Know your place.

I think you've almost completely misunderstood the opening post. He's talking about attacking the Sansha forces in Stain. Not about attacking the Empires. -Eva-

Oh dear, it seems I have. Allow me to apologize.

Yesterday, I asked a friend to head out to Stain and take a look at the area, and the locations mentioned in the leaked Ishaeka documents. Due to circumstances, he has not yet left Empire space. However, he is but one man, and will likely not be doing any striking.

Currently such an attack would be quite ill-concieved. Our knowledge of the Nation is rather limited at the given moment.
What would happen if a fleet went off towards the heart of the Nation and was ripped to pieces because of our lack of information?
It would certainly do no good for morale and would be a terrible waste of resources.
Besides, the ability of the Nation to throw hundreds of ships into suicide attacks speaks either of utter insanity or of great operational strength. Which ever one it is, it's not good.

Such a move would be premature, to say the least. We can't be sure where these forces are coming from. There are a great many capsuleer forces residing in stain, surely a massive sansha buildup on this scale would have been noticed and commented upon by them?
I would surmise that the Sansha incursions are coming from some location in w-space.

The captains of the ships would claim insurance, and purchase new ships.

Edited by: Rolare on 17/05/2010 17:38:09 We, the capsuleers, would obviously not have that much hassle with dying.
However, if the purpose of the attack is to prevent the Sansha Nation from abducting more people, then why in God's name would we try a blind suicide charge and get God knows how many people killed.
We may be able to return to life, but those working for us usually don't.

Wise input from all of you...It just seemed to me that if any group in New Eden could conceivably attack Sansha's effectively as did the four Empires ages ago, we could. We simply overpower them and always have. But you do all bring up valid points, especially that of a w-space staging point...Thought I wonder if they'd abandon their grandiose plans should their people and home come under complete and utter invasion. Strength in numbers, enter with over whelming power and numbers in fleet and crush them out of existence.

Once again the issue is that we simply don't know their strength. There is no telling if a large armada of Sansha ships are still somewhere close to their center if an attack should be initiated.
More so, if such an attack would rely on a weakening in the Nation military caused by their split up, then the capsuleers would be severely disadvantaged if any of them should return.
The True Slaves would not be disheartened to return to smoldering ruins, it wouldn't be the first time they have done it.

While my duty is in the Republic, I feel I should point out that a force making a significant push in Stain against the Sansha might at least achieve a diminishing effect on attacks elsewhere, thus confirming a connect between the traditional Sansha haunts and the current events.
(Obviously, no effect cannot confirm no connection, as we have no way of knowing what sort of force would be sufficient in case of one existing.)

I can confirm that data-gathering operations have begun. You might contact Soter, as he's coordinating a good bit of this. For operational security reasons, I don't want to say more at this particular time.

I sent word to Nikita about my interest in this situation. Can you pass word to Soter for me?
