Today, at aproximately 12:00 standard time the Penirgman system near Amarr was attacked.
According to the Slave Tama01 who was present in a singular Nightmare class Battleship, 200,000 people where taken from the surface.
This occured becuase of their use of deadspace, they where not at the standard warpin for the Planet, and had to be scanned down.
To all the pilots that assisted, and to the scanners that got us a location. You have my thanks, but my sorrow goes out to those families that where ravished by these attacks.
That is all.

An Interesting development. It seems the Sansha have adapted their tactics. We will need a combat prober at all future incursions.

Edited by: Boppi on 18/05/2010 13:02:56 The Defense would have been much stronger were it not for complete disorganisation and selfishness of a select few.
Had the Capsuleers who managed to find the staging point of the Sansha Forces gave out these informations faster, more Capsuleers would have been able to help fighting back the Nation Forces. But alas, the few who found the point just cared for getting the fame of killing Slave Tama01 alone and searching the debris for valuable parts to line their pockets while dozens and dozens capsuleers still tried to get to the Battlefield.
It is selfishness and incompetence that is helping the Sansha.

To those who have lost loved ones in today's attack, my heart goes out to you. Penirgman has been my home, off and on, for much of my career.
To Nation: No more.

The Sansha changed tactics and caught us unprepared, you cannot blame this entirely on selfish Capsuleers, there where many including myself that where simply overwhelmed by the task of directing and providing co-ordinates for those people present.
These Sansha aren't stupid, or at least Kuvakei isn't
We need to be prepared for next time, we need to have Combat Scan probers availiable the moment the alarms sound to respond efficiently now, as this is doubtless the first of many new assaults in this configuration.
I also find it astounding that the Imperial Navy so far has not seen any of its Capsuleer forces deployed in response to the Sansha threat. I find this completely unforgivable, your loyal citizens are being taken and cut apart for Kuvakei's twisted experiments.
I will not stand for an Empress that does nothing for her subjects in times of DIRE need!
I call to the Empires, not just my own but all of those in New Eden, come forth, rally to the banner that is being flown the Capsuleers who now defend and protect the vast multitudes who escaped this slaughter!
The time is nigh, we have seen more than five MILLION peoples abducted by the rampant nation. It is time to stand for the peoples of New Eden, and for the lives of all humanity.
We must destroy this Sansha threat, once and for all.

I find the idea of Amarrians being taken as slaves for a project motivated by a foreign ideology and the desire to uplift those people as the height of irony.

I am getting very weary of people constantly pointing out this 'irony' every time my people are attacked.
It is tactless, distasteful, offensive and selfish. Now stop it.
You know exactly why we Amarr are different than the Sansha; we are still human. Now stop pouting over history's mistakes and concentrate on the matter at hand.

I am most of those things, indeed. But, you know, your Empress (or the Theology Council or whomever passes for the head of your hierarchical authority these days) could make a good-will gesture by halting slave raids during the current crisis.
Then again, I'd like it if any of the major governments that claim to serve their people so altruistically did anything about this. They seem, at best, complacent about the whole thing.

I'm hardly an expert at slave legislature, but I am quite certain slave raids in the Republic or other territories has been illegal for many years. -----

I find it fascinating that you people consider yourselves defenders of your people from some outside threat, and yet comments like this are seen regularly.
How useful are "defenders" if they are all begging to be notified of attacks? Should they not know of them?
Moreover, if one does not know that an "attack" is happening for great lengths of time, is it necessarily an attack?
People will continue to be saved and brought into the fold. You can continue to scramble about and attempt to halt the advance, however you may continue to have the same level of success -- if that is what you call success.
Then, when Nation forces withdraw, once again you can fall to internal squabbling, Amarr shooting Matari, people fighting over the spoils of war like dogs tearing each other apart over table scraps, and throughout all this, Nation's example of True Unity will continue.
Carry on, it is most entertaining.

There is one major difference, one you most likely won't accept. We are driven by Faith, God chose us and now we are his extended will.
The Sansha Nation does nothing but wipe the minds of whoever they get, they care not for the soul nor the person.
Nation wipes your mind, we save your soul.

There is much misinformation out there about Vitoc. While I personally don't like to use this educational tool (and haven't in quite awhile) it can be necessary I suppose. When a slave is to distracted by thoughts of escape and rebellion he isn't focused on the purpose of enlightenment. Vitoc takes away those thoughts of violence and gives the slave time to focus on what really matters which is his place in the universe and his service to God. Thus while Vitoc can have some negative side effects it is a tool that could be necessary at times.
While it may be tempting to compare the Sansha abductions to Amarrian slavery there is no comparison. The Amarrians are only working to enlighten the less fortunate and thus save them from a life of hopelessness and despair. Sansha abduction is the epitome of hopelessness and despair. There is no comparison.

Oh give it a rest Amarrian hypocrites. Your holding people against their will "for their own good" is, at the end of the day, no different than what the Sansha do. You try to justify it with your religious mumbo-jumbo, but the bottom line is the same: the slave has no choice as to whether he wants to accept your "gift" or not.
By all means continue to deny that you're the same as the Nation if it helps you sleep at night, but please don't expect the rest of us to believe your lies.
What you want is irrelevant. What you've chosen is at hand. |

I am sick of this argument.
Is a robber the same as an axe murderer? Both take by force. Is a burglar the same as an assassin? Both take by stealth.
To align the Amarr with the Nation demonstrates either a profound lack of sophistication or a merry disregard for significant distinctions. The empires, all of them, even the Amarr, joined forces to stamp out the original Nation. You'll find no such consensus with respect to the Amarr, and the resurgent, vengeful revenant that troubles us now has gone well beyond what the original Sansha Kuvakei did to earn the empires' rage.
If what the Amarr do is a crime, it is a lesser crime. Yes, they may take people by force "for their own good," much as the Nation does. What they do not do is snuff out the wills of their captives.
If you cannot see the distinction, I am afraid that the clearest explanation is that this is because you do not wish to see. If the Amarr did anything similar, you'd be all over them for it.
Fight the Amarr if you wish, but kindly refrain from comparing an ancient theocracy to an all-devouring forest fire. You were in the Empire's mouth getting chewed on for-- what, a thousand years? And you've emerged largely yourselves.
If the Nation takes you, see whether you hold out for a thousand hours.
Idiots.

Wrong.
At the end of the day, Amarrians release their slaves. Just look at the billions of free Ni-Kunni, Udorians and Ammatar for the proof of this, along with Empress Jamyl's emancipation announcement.

Actually, thanks to the Abbess, I've been doing a little research on the stuff in the last few minutes. Yes, it produces a sense of euphoria, and yes, it threatens painful death by withdrawl.
I've known my share of addicts. Addiction can change a person, but it doesn't just erase the addict.
Let me go ahead and make the next point for you: transcranial microcontrollers, which likewise produce a happier, more pliant slave.
These, however, produce pliant, happy slaves, not True Slaves. I've recently gotten a good look at some True Slave programming; it's less like a slave and more like a very sophisticated drone. Good fun, if you like the idea of having a wingman who will reliably do exactly what you program, someone to live and die as a high-end remote guidance system.
For a long time, I thought my old friend Kostantin Mort had become a True Slave. I know now that, whatever he was, that was not it. Kostantin kept his own mind, fundamentally altered, twisted and corrupted to the Nation's needs by the hardware in his head. But he didn't vanish.
Slaves get to be people. True Slaves, the ones I've now seen the programming from? There wasn't a shred of "person" left there.
Draw your own conclusions as you like, Gottii. If you can't see the difference, I've no more use for you.

Yes, though not the slaves they originally captured. I'll concede it happens, but it is nowhere near the norm.
Comparisons drawn between Nation and Amarr are generally faulty. Such is the way of things when propaganda supplants fact.
As for the True programming brought up by the Angel associate. As long as programming is active, she said.
Taking Angels propaganda against Nation as fact, might prove to be a grave mistake. We are after all talking about pirates here, you know, like the ones that originally caused the need for True Program.
by the by anyone who wishes to come at me on the True program, might also note my open call for Nation loyalists to cut back on the Creation of the True Slaves. |
