I see there is a lot of diffrent apps out there, but very unsure what to use..
I am intrested in station trading, and id like a app that keeps tracks of orders, and can tell me how much profit i am making.
and also tell me how i am faring against other traders in the station..

There are some really good apps but not all are free to use. I think I'm already paying enough to CCP and don't want to pay more for a 3rd party app but that's a personal choice.
I'm using Eve Trader (the software, not the web based one) to keep track of profit vs turnover and to see which items are the most profitable. You can easily see compounded turnover/profit colour coded by character in a graph and there are report graphs telling you how much you made on which item, in which station or selling to which person. It's currently unsupported and a few features have stopped working but I spoke to someone the other day who has picked up development again so hopefully there will be a new version soonish. Even the current version works for what I want it to do. Not that the download from the old homepage is bugged (I believe). Search for a newer version that fixed and issue with updating the API. I haven't tried the web based Eve Trader yet but there's a thread somewhere on page 2 or 3 if you want to give that a go.
If you're only station trading then the Eve Market Scanner won't be much good for you since you can use that to compare market logs from different regions.
Then there's EveHQ which is more of a total-package app. Not sure if it keeps track of profits and such but it will let you manage assets, although again if you're station trading you shouldn't really need an app for that.
AFAIK there is no app that will tell you how you're doing compared to other traders, also since the name of the seller is not available and therefore there's really no way to know who's selling without buying the item.
Eve Trader should be fine for your needs. Maybe also give the web based one a try, that looked promising and has the added benefit that you can also look into your chars at work/school if you don't have your own computer handy.

eve-commander works good too, it will cost you in-game isk, depending on your wallet size, but the few mil you pay to use it are more than worth it, and have made themselves back quite a few times over already :p

I use EMMA, the good thing about it is that it let's you combine diff chars to one 'wallet', even if they are on different accounts.
