Someone asked regarding https://gate.eveonline.com/ and when it would be usable, of course it wont be usable before the servers open fully. Since standing changes, emails etc, would be affecting the real dbase, as such, it would be too much to hope that this service, would be open before full release..

I'm GMT, so I know to wait.
GMT is equal to UTC, if your from England, then remember, your not GMT atm, your GMT+1 due to summertime ;)

Originally by: Rafael Tonka For anyone still too confused about what time the UTC time is in your part of the world, Windows 7 (and maybe older versions) allow you to show multiple clocks - just set 1 of them to show Coordinated Universal Time and you'll have UTC alongside local time. I renamed my clock to Eve Time to avoid any confusion...
On your taskbar, click the clock and open the clock\calendar window. Select Change Date and Time settings, additional clocks, Coordinated Universal Time... easy
CUT != UTC!

UTC 18:00 is; BST 19:00 CEST 20:00
So whatever your clock was when the clock in left corner said 18:00 yesterday will be the same time today... And that time CCP wish that the server is, hmmm, up?
In other words, in 56 minutes I expect to be logged in.
in 56 minutes, I expect the server to crash. repeteadly.
Well, the vulcano will definetly be the LEAST of their concern at that time!

No UTC != GMT. UTC does not use Daylight savings where GMT does. Daylight saving being the +/- 1 hour first and second hald of year.
YES, UTC == GMT, GMT is FIXED!!
fx, atm for Denmark its GMT+2, normally its +1, but were in summertime, then there are other terms, that mean the same, fx GMT+1 Summertime == CEST or GMT+2!
Woaw, thats hard to understand, isnt it ? |
