Guys, seriously, read back just a few posts and you will get the answers you require.
http://content.eveonline.com/evepremiumpatch127381-154366_m.exe
That is the location of the patch at this stage. It hasn't yet been announced by CCP, but it is there, I have installed it and it is the same version as the server at this stage.

Some of these complainers don't know how good they have it. Back in the day, we used to have to screenshot all our assets before a patch cause things sometimes magically disappeared.
It'll be here soon enough.

Edited by: Jokerface999 on 26/05/2010 12:07:03 at the last release there was an auto patch, you started the client and got the information that you are using a old version, so you can click update, eve downloads and installs the patch.
Dominion Release was finished about 2 hours before the promissed time. (as a software developer) i think it depends on the time needed to upgrade the servers, test the whole hard and software, and the game core + the patched functions. Patching should not take more then 5 hours, the rest of the time is just validating the databases, documenting, and making sure that everything is ok.
as soon as the CCP team says ok, everything fine, we will get access to the game again.
just be patient, or do you want a not tested release where the database would probably crash and the recovery would take a week or so :-D

I dunno why CCP didn't post the last version for download while the server is being patched.
Regards!
did you try reading patch-notes... look at the top BUT if ccp adds last moment changes then build will be changed.
I get the feeling more and more ignorant questions will float up in this thread. |

I cannot believe that they don't "freeze" the server or credit us with a day when the server is down for so long.
Yeah, they update the game for free and blah blah blah but really, when i pay for 30 days i want to get 30 days PLAYING time, not 28 days playing, 1 day sitting and waiting and another day lost due to daily server downtimes.
If this game wasn't so frikkin awesome, I'd vote with my feet.
Would you rather pay double your monthly sub (like wow) for an expansion? Skills still train pos's and builds continue to output stuff i don't see it's that bad for the expansion to be included in your monthly fee's or plex etc. |

This may have already been addressed (didn't have time to read through 12 pages of threads), but does anyone have more information on "exploit fixes"? It should not need to be kept secret if they've been fixed, right? My main concern being certain tactics I've used to work around game bugs may no longer work, or actions that I thought were legitimate might have been considered an exploit and will no longer work. For example, there is a long-standing bug with warp-outs where the ship was already pre-aligned, no obstacles, no scrams, and the gauge indicates warp engaging, but the ship does not leave the mission area and is destroyed -- only solution is to Ctrl-Q to escape before the ship is lost.
Could the Exploits section please be updated to provide more information or can someone provide more details here.
Thanks!

thank you for that timer. it's not hard kiddies to figure out time differences. Your computer has that clock function and with that lets you choose your timezone (with +/- GMT or UTC). the rest should be easy to figure out if you know 1st grade math.

I'm sure this is a horribly newbie question but it's been two years since I last played and I've yet to go through a major expansion release while I had an active account (that I can recall anyway, maybe RMR?).
What is the process by which we get the patch for our client? I'm guessing it'll auto-update when the server comes back online and I try to login, but I'm expecting a MASSIVE download lag there. Is there a way to download and apply the correct patch ahead of time? -Guillome Renard, ACCS

i would not download a not offical released patch, becouse CCP has 5 - 6 hours to do some last minute changes... which would couse some trouble with your client if they do so.

No CCP never explain what has been fixed so that they dont help other exploiters get ideas. So the fact they have fixed exploits is all you will ever get.

This would be a very bad idea as it would give clueless muppets clue on how exploits may have worked before, and might work in the future.

good call. though i'll DL from that link and wait till CCP has things running to make sure the client is the same. That way I'll at least have it ready to install should the versions match and avoid the majority of the rush.

Edited by: Ulilenzo on 26/05/2010 12:16:37 Well me im a little sad about the insurance change for sup caps insurance only returning around 1-10% of value woopdidoo!
I think most of the new stuff is great and most of what is going to be patched is also great but il probably have to pay 15-20bil for a super carrier the old insurance was 40% of base price around 5 bil which means i now could get some where between 0,125-1,25bil thats kinda low but it is true as they stated that it is gonna make the loss sting alot more...

NO YOU ARE NOT PAYING FOR PLAYING TIME! YOU ARE PAYING FOR KEEPING THE HUGE AMOUNT OF SERVERS, LICENSES, BILLS AND THE PEAOPLE MAINTAINING ALL OF THE STUFF!
SO do not be a whining noob, which is paying 14,95 Ç for SUCH a game, and that type of service!

FWIW - I did read. That link is not very well advertised, what with being in a quote and having little to no fanfare associated with it.
I also tried searching for it, but that came out to nothing.
However - Thank you for the information, that was exactly what I was looking for!
Allow me to pass it forward:
HEY GUYS YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE PATCH HERE:CLICK ME!!
Pity I can't make ginormous text too, but I'm guessing that's on purpose. :P -Guillome Renard, ACCS
