So, you're telling me...wait just, give me a minute to get this straight...Ok.
So you're saying that deep in the reaches of space where anarchy runs wild and the only protection is a moderate sized police force(which cannot be fought back against and deploys within seconds). That you're actually at RISK? Of LOSING something?
You actually, have to spend money(the money that you've obviously made enough of to buy a golem) to replace ships?
Oh wow, that's just horrible, if you had not had to replace that golem, you could have spent that money you had accumulated on...well maybe a second golem? So when things like this don't happen, you'll have plenty of surplus for when they do, right?
But I guess they should never happen. I agree, then you'd have thousands of golems, just incase I guess.
That's just dumb. The guy who got jumped loses nearly all his billion+ investment while the attackers get fully reimbursed. If the attackers don't get reimbursed, they would have to think twice, but this has been discussed so many times in the past.

Originally by: Yorku I feel I have to express my discontent towards this expansion. As far as I'm concerned, just from having read all the patch notes as well as all of the dev blogs on Tyrannis, this is going to be the worst expansion of all time.
I am running missions for isk so that I can sustain myself as far as buying PvP ships goes. CCP somehow decided that it would be a good idea to lower the minerals gotten from reprocessing the majority of loot. I'm not worried about this because I sell minerals, I've not done that at all. I'm worried about this because lowered supply of minerals will increase their cost, and as a result ship prices will increase as well. So now I have to run more missions (in which I'll make slightly less isk in) for the same thing.
How the **** is everyone so happy about this expansion? Planetary interaction is code-name for "Since Dust 514 is going to come out, lets help the rich get richer!" If it doesn't lower some cost for me, I'll be utterly displeased.
Although I say this, EVE is still undoubtedly my favorite game, but at the same time, I don't understand how CCP could ever have decided that missions needed a nerf. How about that survey they sent out about mission-running some months back? Did they not remember the bit about how tedious running missions is? They obviously don't give a **** about what th players think?
P.S.: When we get CCP pathnotes, please tell us exactly how things are changing rather than just a general idea. (ex. "Drone Compound volume is being decreased" vs "Drone Compound volume is being decreased by 25%" It's not too much to ask is it?
Talk to all the miners who have had their professions completely trivialized. Now put some more thought into it. Mineral prices go up, people start mining more, prices go back down. It's the market, it fluctuates...you've played this game before right? :)
Quit whining; at least wait to see what happens first.

That's probably true that miners will mine more and ship prices will go back down in time, but at the same time, that doesn't stop me from making extra money does it? Like I said, EVE will always be my favorite game, but at the same time, I think I have the right to be bothered by a huge expansion making it more difficult for me to make money, considering I already put so much time into missions... Do you really think that this is a necessary change in any case? I'm not sure exactly how many miners there are around, but I'm going to go with the term "a lot". (even relatively speaking by profession) Taking isk out of the hands of mission runners and putting it in the hand of miners is not something that I appreciate to say the least. I'm on the wrong end of it after all, and so - I express my discontent.
I consider it venting btw, not whining, although for the rest of you in your "Awesome Tyrannis bubble", I understand that it could be perceived that way...

I notice that for awhile now the server recognizes that my client is incompatible. I sincerely hope CCP isn't going to wait until 3 minutes before the server goes live again to release the new client download. Don't get me wrong, competing with 40,000 others simultaneously fighting for the same download is quite the giggle but let's stagger it out a bit if we can, eh?

"There were a few windows that had problems with being merged with other windows. They have been instructed to HTFU, and just do it."
Does this mean this will fix the issue of when people log in all their chat windows will be de-grouped and scattered across the screen?
I am not sure what exact case you are referring to but I suggest you file a bug report with some more detail on it, you can find detailed instructions on how to write a good bug report here.
For the sake of transparency these are the specific cases that went under that patch note you quoted:
- Contracts: Create Contract wizard text blanks out when opened in merged state with contract main window.
- POS: Check box text disappears on stacking Manage> Force field / Defense window with Chat window.
- Assets: Text "Personal Assets" disappears on stacking Assets window with Chat window.
- Using "Stack" & "Pin" functionality together on two or more windows make Welcome pages of the windows blank on reopening.
- Skill group window opens with a blank page along with a scroll bar when merged with any other window.
- Stacking show info window with WMCP (World Map Control Panel) make tabs in show info window blank on reopening.
- Specialized bays: Items are not visible in the destination bay after being dragged and dropped over a stacked bay.
The fact that you are unaware of the bug that SemiCharmed is referring to worries me because the same thing happens to me all the time.
From time to time when I log in ALL my chat windows will be degrouped and spread around the main window.
I have however not filed a bug report as to this issue because it only happens about once every 5 - 10 days and it appears to be a client-side issue (or atleast I assume window information is stored locally).
One suspects this to be due to some sort of error while closing the client where the client is SUPPOSED to store/overwrite window information but fails to do so and/or only stores part of the data, thus resulting in the client assigning default/random locations to each chat client whilest loading the client again. This might be a client problem or a compatibility problem with certain OS configurations.
If this is really news to you and to all of CCP I recommend you look into it because I am sure us 2 aren't the only people experiencing this.
I am willing to help you identify the problem in any way possible if you are unable to reconstruct the issue yourself on testmachines, just let me know.
This issue has been in EVE for quite some while now by the way, at least since 1 or 2 expansions ago (if not always).
Please inform me by reply in this thread or evemail if there is anything I can do to help you (CCP) fix this problem as it has been haunting and annoying me for ages now. __________________________________________________

Bad idea - everyone would download and patch the client before QA is finished successful and its clear that it wont be rolled back again.

Mining has been getting hurt for a while and there is alot of it to do with macro-miners going through belts like a hot knife through butter. The removal of certain keys being able to be shortcut'ed may help for a little bit, but i think they need to implement another "Operation Unholy Rage" against the marco-users since they are violating the EULA. Gather statistics that only a macro-miner can produce and use that as a base line to catch and lockout their operations. As for the markets, things will balance out like a real free-market should. |

I have to agree point 1 was a major change that should have been introduced years ago to make the costs of high sec suicide ganking higher
point 2 well that possibly breaches the information act around privacy of information !

Edited by: Yukanojo on 26/05/2010 10:41:27 What's the SOP with patching these expansions? Is there an autoupdater in the client when we log in or do we have some way of downloading an offline patch file?
Reason I'm asking is I am in lovely Iraq and the internet connection is quite slow. (Fast enough to play, but any large files take forever to download.) Since I'm the most computer savvy soldier here, I have been elected by the other Eve players here to "figure it out". I'd prefer to download the update content once, to save time and bandwidth and get the guys here playing sooner.
Should I just monitor this link and wait for it to go live?

Well that might work but there are those people (like me) who are pretty much obsessed with it and mine 24/7. I mine alot and have been accused of macro mining but i don't macro mine. I have seen a few other people who seem like they are macro mining but accept requests when invited and therefor they are playing.
