Intended use in the Rorqual, Boost drone space to allow the use of the Mining fighters Allow the fighters to mine vast quantities of low end ore only The Rorqual must be in industrial mode do deploy the fighters. Mining Fighters cannot warp w/ ore in the hold and of course normal fighters cannot be deployed at all
Solves two problems in my mind 1) Little to no utilization of low end asteroids in null sec 2) Rorquals are POS huggers
Open to comments and suggestions I'd like constructive criticism on this idea

Bolded the important part that right there is exactly why it'll never happen.

It solves nothing, most would ignore the new mining drones and a small minority would use them and get blown up.

So your saying if the ship didn't require industrial mode to deploy fighters this would be a viable option, or are you trolling

Why shouldnt the fighter size mining drones be able to warp with ore?
What about fighter size industrial drones?
Carriers can assign fighters to small ships, why wouldn't the rorqual work simular?
Would these mega mining drones, be assignable to other ships?
Would they dump thier ore in a can near the ship assigned to?
What about an industrial fighter size drone, can be assigned to other ships, like fighters, but it would orbit the ship at 1.2km and warp to rorqual when ever it is full, returning for another load. Then you could have miners in multiple belts with there loads being transferred to a rorqual via drones, I know hauling is kind of a pain.

There has to be some risk vs gain for being able to mine large amounts of low end ore, the Rorqual would have to leave the bubble at some time to collect. Ultimately there would be more rorquals on the KB but that should be the price of doing business. I'd I like your idea of assigning the them to other miners, as I believe CCP doesn't want a stand alone mining behemoth.

In essence I think putting fighter, or larger, size drones on a Rorqual would be very good.
Both the Orca and Rorqual are mind numblingly boring to fly and use.
And as game play should be fun I think both these ships need some rework.
1) Put ore squashing on POS's, make ore squash structure to do just that job. 2) Deployed mode should increase Drone mining yield/damage/structure and increase attributes of repair/remote repair modules on the Rorqual. 3) Create medium/large/fighter size mining drones. 4) Enable the Orca to deploy 5 large drones.
5) Create mining logistics drones. When in deployed mode logisitics drones move ore from whereever the Rorqual is deploy to a specified hanger deployed at a station or POS.
I doubt option 5 is possible but would only make sense as the Rorqual would take time to exit deployed mode and move ore to hangers.
Better game play for pod pilots. Fun mining operations. Increased safety for miners but only where the Rorqual is deployed. More fun for all miners with medium mining drones. Orca pilots get to play with large drones and large mining drones.
And Rorquals in space available for PvP with someextra teeth.

If one is wanting to look at the ideal that the rorqual is a wing or fleet level mining vessel it would stand to reason that it would not have to be in the same belt as it's miners.
Limit to rorqual (fighter size drones) could be that industrial mode can not be done with in 50 k of a pos bubble.
I have also wondered why mining drones only come in one size, why not small, medium, and large, that way your security details could mine a little but have still so they can guard thier miners.
