Edited by: Luke S on 24/05/2010 03:33:00 I was doing my normal stuff on Facebook and I saw a ad that says "PLAY EVE FOR FREE!." Ok, knowing that half the time free stuff from the Internets don't come to you without selling your soul. So, I clicked the link to see what and proceed with caution. Go figure, you have to do surveys to get credit, and that credit can be turned into PLEX.
So this leave me with a question. How safe is this site? There are no key loggers on their site (to my knowledge,) But I can see that the people who run the site can track your information that you use for the surveys. so leaves me to ask this to CCP:
http://www[dot]eveonlineplexcard[dot]com CCP do you know about this site? To your knowledge, is it safe? (Not hyperlinking the link. Proceed on your own risk.)

It may be legit, but probably isn't. A LOT of other games have done stuff like that in the past. The trouble is that a majority of the sites are either data harvesting (email, address, phone number, etc) or are laced with malware.

its problaby a laundry scheme. you get the plex for the survey, and the plex was purchased with macro miners.

Edited by: Abdiel Kavash on 24/05/2010 07:29:26 As long as you don't give them your account details, don't download anything off the site (keyloggers), and wash your hands afterwards, you should be fine. Worst case, it's a scam and they want you too fill their add-filled survey for free. I'm not gonna risk going there on my computer, but I'll try to remember to check it out later today from an university PC.
Anyway, I don't get how can they actually give the PLEX to you - not like you're going to give them your account details. Do they offer to just contract it to you?
Or, (maybe more likely), as the other poster said, it's an ISK laundering scheme.

Most of the FotM data miners now want you to text from a cell phone and it is a billing text. I'm sure if you follow through that's what you will encounter. |

DO NOT GO TO THAT SITE !!!!
Ignore previous comment by the mis-informed !!! I have clicked on sites to just visit when Kaspersky has warned me that it stopped a trojan being downloaded, even though I did NOT click on any link on that site !!!!
If the site is legit then my apologies, but nothing is free in this world

Indeed.
Also you are not allowed to trade PLEX out of game so even if the site is legitimate it will still break the EULA.
