Edited by: Diomedes Calypso on 26/05/2010 17:10:25 I don't know where it will go really but I'm curious about what others think
Reasons for downward pressure - IF mining becomes even less profitable per hour, many of those isk grinders will move to missions. (thats coupled to the mineral crash debate) . More drops mean more supply of those high meta items
Reason for upward pressure : - Switches in loot drops will make salvaging less attractive in terms of isk/hour, pushing them towards skipping salvaging and completing more missions in the same period for the Rewards, and LP legs . (a method that power mission runners have already determined is more profitable per hour)
Reason the above could be irrelevant regardless of a swing one way or another:
- CCP has complete control of drop RATES and already control the rates to keep things like Arbalest heavies in a certain price range (? t or f ?) They like th current range , seem adverse to both inflation and delfation and would change drop rates toward stablizing prices ? ((is this true? )) |

Loot drops are not nerfed they are altered, ofcourse it remains to be seen what does tags or whatever will be worth but i was under the impression that the intention was to make the new drops equal in value to the old situation.
and we have this: The loot drops from Rogue Drone NPC battleships have had their composition altered, their volume significantly decreased, and their value slightly decreased.
Meaning that BC salvaging probably is a thing of the past and old fashioned destroyer salvaging is the way. Could be faster even.
What i'm implying is that is that it remains to be seen there will be an overall decrease of looting/salvaging. Mins crashing however due to IER can put a downward pressure on all modules and thus also to named mods.

I'm hearing a lot of grumpiness in the mission runners forums that makes me think that less of them are going to be running missions. On the one hand that will drive supply down, on the other hand that will be driving demand down as well. Of course that could just be them bellyaching. When they realise they don't know how to do anything other than run missions they will probably head right back.
