Generally run your faction's navy, and don't accept missions against the other factions.

Edited by: Misanthra on 27/05/2010 04:08:18 if you have any indy aspirations (or just want the passive isk of datacore sales and not use them) run for a corp with r&d agents a possibility. My indy did this, and thanks to storylines has high standing with other corps. My indy char for example is loved by spacelane patrol and caldari navy....never ran their missions besides storylines though lol.

I started out as purely a miner, so I looked at the local companies for the ones that had the most mining agents. I picked Poksu, and stuck with them. Now when I refine, I pay very little (soon to be none) refining tax.

1. Basically every corp gives missions against factions. Just try to refuse them as much as possible. Storyline missions also give standings increase and decrease. 2. There's no "best corp". You could opt to do missions for R&D corps as said by t'raq mardon, but they have a lot of courier missions that give low rewards and less LP and standings compared to "destroy" missions. 3. I don't know what your motivation is for doing missions but different corps give slightly different LP rewards and R&D corps can get you extra ISK on top of that if you opt to invest in science/industry. For a pure fighter character it may take too long to train those up but for an indutrial char it's worth it.

Edited by: Whitehound on 27/05/2010 09:21:42 I choose to run combat missions for the research corporations of the four main empire factions. This has the advantage that once you have a high standing with them you can then use all their R&D agents (R&D agents are a special kind of agent).
If you mine a lot then you might also want to run missions for corporations, which have settled wide across high-sec, in order to refine at their stations.
If you just want to run combat missions then find those which have a lot of Command, Security and Internal Security agents. These are the police forces and navy's.
Edit: And, of course, do not accept missions against the other factions. See the EVE Mission Guide, and the info on Storyline Missions. --

Wrong.
This...you only get that corps standings. If you run say caldari and lai dai, their other research corps won't give you much. You may get splash effect standings from the the caldari faction but its not much, will have the low quality 1's give you time of day. Want more, run for them as well.
R&D can go slow, just fyi. Quick money quick standing the navy corps are fast money and standing. also more variety.
Also when planning a corp look at all the agents and see where there high quaility level 4's are at. Some of the better minmatar agents in the big money bracket will have you going to low sec. Personal choice to go there, if not partial to it...find a corp that won't have you going there. Why caldarin navy for example is very popular (besides most active market for lp's ofc). Their best lv 4 combat agent (lv 4 q18) is buried deeeep in high sec in motsu.
