There appear to have been changes to the undock speed of freighters. Probably other ships as well, but freighters for sure. The speed is much lower and seems to be tied either to the ship's top speed, its mass, or its agility. Its not clear which.
This causes some problems at various stations, because the ship can't get clear of the undock area without insta undocks or flying straight ahead for a long time (freighters are slow) to get past all the edges of the station graphic. It also means that even in areas where they have enough room to manuever, once they begin to align for warp, they're clogging up the undock port and colliding with everything. I've tried slowing down to near zero to align better, but it seems to take longer to get to warp speed, which means you need enough room to both turn/align and accelerate.
Does anyone have an information about this change? Have there been any changes to agility and handling in general? Any chance this will be tweaked in a patch? |

Learn to make station insta-warp points. Get a frig + mwd, head out 200kmish from station undock point, make sure you're directly STRAIGHT OUT from undock, and make a bookmark.
Next time you undock with the freighter, just instawarp to the bookmark and warp from there.
Problem all fixed now?

Nope.
I know how to make and use instaundocks. Note the line in the OP where I mention them. Are you proposing that I make them for every station in EVE?
Anyone else? |

Maybe just the ones you have problems with. This sounds like a problem i would have with some stations *before* the patch. Haven't flown a freighter since the patch so I don't know if it's worse. But some stations(Jita 4-4 going to perimiter for example), I had to make a book mark or wait a few minutes to get clear.

I could swear there was some mention of change in undocking speed in patch notes, but can't find it anywhere, so I might just be going crazy. |

How about just every one you dock at frequently. Bookmarks are the way you navigate your internet spaceship in EVE. If it's too much of a chore for you, maybe you could try mining for a while instead. -- Nah, that's just my Asperger's kickin' in.

..You probably dont know, but Gabriel is a member (director?) of Red Frog Investments, which is the best public contract freighter service in Eve. He, and every other RF Freight pilot, need to dock in a whole lot of stations to pick up and drop off goods. So even tho "bookmarks are the way you navigate your internet spaceship in EVE," Gabriel and other RF freight pilost dock in more stations then you ever dream of. And warping out off hundreds of stations in a freighter is no picknick.

something definately got changed for the worse. I never had a problem in the past aligning 180 then warping to a gate. now my ship keeps doin a one legged dodo dance and have to dock and try all over again.
BAD CCP, FIX IT A.S.A.P.!!! --
