Since the last expansion deployment, I've been getting a butt-ton of these as NPC drops in lieu of loot. I realize that I fly a lot of Minmatar ships (and that they will surely need metal scraps at one time or another to replace what has flown off of them via weakened baling wire), but can we do without these?
If I wanted metal scraps, I'd paste little nubby ears on top of my head, eat a ton of honey, and sit in a mission for 3 hours salvaging, caring, salvaging, and caring some more (you have to mix it up a little to stave off the loneliness).
How about some commodities here and there, if you're diametrically opposed to giving us loot... anything would be better than this. I guess what I'm asking for is something that doesn't suck quite as hard.
Thanks.

No, sorry. CCP thinks you'll keep paying for this game with no rewards. Sorry, they know you've spent several months, for some a year or more for those marauders, training up to the point you could make a decent income spending less time grinding and more time actually playing the game. But no, it's not about playing it's about grinding. They don't want their game to be fun anymore. So consign yourself to significantly longer grinds or quit. I'd suggest the latter because they're placing what can only be categorized as a l5 mission with level 1 and 2 agents these days. Seriously. Check this thread: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1324987 And no it's not a bug. It's "working as intended". The insanity of the development of Eve has reached epic proportions. I'm not even sure that they just aren't trying to kill off Eve. Seriously.

I have a feeling those single scraps are just a place holder till CCP works out what tags to replace them with.
Its pretty obvious that the Tyrannis Dev team is very limited with the bulk of the Devs working on Dust and Incarna. Would explain the lack of content and lack of fixes to known problems.

That's just stupid, maybe you shouldn't go off on what one dude says about another dude's opinion. I've posted a bug report, and they've told me they already know and are working on a fix. Why don't you try to help the community instead of just *****, huh?

I can't believe the number of complaint threads about missions loot. It's a massive buff not a nerf. Stop looking at the trash and run the numbers. The huge increase in tags for LP store more than makes up for the lose of a few large weapons and hangers full of worthless trit and now nearly all the modules are named/meta.

Have not seen this in Level 5 missions so far. No increase in tags of any kind, but an incredible decrease in loot. I could live with more tags.

I'd like to address these a little at a time, if you will indulge me:

Alrighty, Good idea. Numbers run in Sinq Laison produced 2,410 isk for 3 units of metal scraps. If by "massive buff" you mean metal scraps that sell for nothing and are pretty much unusable, instead of module drops, then yeah, it's a "massive buff". Actually, I think you meant to say "massive load of suck", not "massive buff". I can see how you would get the two confused.

Whoa... what? Huge increase in tags? Where? Where are these tags? I see no tags. They must be hidden in with the metal scraps. Maybe I need to look harder, or perhaps I'm just not on as much crack as you, because I'm just not seeing them. Now all the modules are named / meta? What modules? Are they also hidden in with the metal scraps?
Seriously, if you're not running missions, it would be easily to make the assumptions that you have. However, for those of us that are, let's try to keep the subject within the realm of reality, instead of making up imaginary tags that aren't part of the mission drops, and talking out our bottoms? k?

Confirmed. No increase in either empire tags for faction-kill missions nor pirate tags for both lvls 4 and 5.

I ran a bunch of level 4's this weekend. I didn't see a single tag. I still see meta I loot drops (most of the drops I got were this).
What I did see was a massive nerf in the amount of loot you get in general, and metal scraps. That's it.

It would be awesome already if the scraps just didn't drop at all, I don't even care about any replacement, I just don't wanna tow a jetcan behind my salvager just to dump metal scraps.

I did notice that tags seemed to be dropping a fair bit more. From Enemies Abound 5/5 (L4), I got 3 Fleet Colonel II insignias from each Darkana (that I noticed- I only started looking about halfway through looting).
Now, that's awesome... but in my experience, I'd guess only about 10% of missions (MAYBE) drop tags. If we're getting tags instead of loot now, can we get tags in more of the missions? If not, it just kinda sucks for the people who like to finish missions, instead of getting the one really profitable one and farming it for a week from a bunch of agents.

I'm confused as to why CCP would want a field of cans containing a single "Scrap Metal" left behind after each mission... surely this is wasted load on the servers. Thank goodness for "Invert selection" though!
I've noticed a distinct reduction in low-meta loot also - although perhaps a slight increase in levels of salvage.
