Hiyas.
One of my alts is being war decced by hi sec greifers, and I dropped roles on them so they can leave and join an NPC corp. I know that when Corps leave an alliance, there's a 24 cooldown where they are still war targets to the war deccing corp. I was just wondering about a character leaving for an NPC corp, does the same occur at all, or once they are out are they free to move around safely (well, this is EVE, so safer I guess heh)?

After dropping corp, I'd suggest logging out and back in just to be safe. I'm always skeptical of CCP, and assume the worse of bugs, and the last thing you want is to still have aggro flagged on you. Also, if any WT shot you in the last fifteen minutes, I believe they can continue to shoot you; or at least, I'd be cautious. Again, never trust CCP. But, going from player corp to NPC corp immediately frees you, more or less.

Edited by: Anthropos Phagein on 02/06/2010 17:31:06 I was station camping a war target who owed me money one time recently. He dropped corp right in the station and then undocked all without logging off. I can confirm that he was still marked as a war target on overview and in local (even after manual refresh) but I got the popup telling me that if I shot this poor soul I'd be gangraped.
So I did not engage him.

If your corp has been war decced, is it possible for a member to leave your corp (not a CEO nor has any roles etc) while the war dec is live?
I've had a discussion with someone in local chat who says that this is against the game mechanics and also has a mail from a GM to say that doing so will result in an account ban. Events in EvE occur in real time! |

You can definitely do it as it happens to me all the time with sometimes just an alt moving into CEO slot and everyone else disbanding. A few days after war is retracted members usually just rejoin.
I don't think this is against game mechanics or rules but it is annoying. So you just move onto the next war dec where they may be more committed to their corporation.
I have never petitioned it though.

Thanks for the reply, exactly what I thought as we've had member from our corp do the same before during WD and they've never had a GM threaten them with an account ban.
Wonder if a GM can comment on this if possible? Events in EvE occur in real time! |

its banneble to drop corp when in war and then return the same corp after war ended, 1 time wont be a problem, dooing this loads of times might get ya bannned if ya agressor petition it
afaik ya alowed to join any new corp as often as ya want though (or create) . ______________________________________________

Afaik only closing corp and reopening it everytime when wardecced isnt allowed, corp hopping around to avoid wardec should be allowed afaik.

Mr Vrix and Furb Killer - looks like two completely differing answers to the question. :)
I can understand the closing of a corp to escape a WD is a nono, but members leaving to avoid a WD I thought was possible as well without the banstick coming out :)
I've read plenty of forum posts here where ppl have asked for advice and it's been get a spare toon into your corp, assign it as a CEO and the remainder leave and come back when it's over ... never seen anyone kick up a fuss with the threat of getting a petition raised.
Really would be helpful to have some proper rules available or a GM to clarify the exact position ... do they come in here often? Events in EvE occur in real time! |

This being an exploit is just an EVE urban legend.
Ive had war targets drop corp on me many times. GM's have always told me via petitions that it is perfectly acceptable. They can leave corp and rejoin as many times as they want. They will not get banned.
A corp may also leave an alliance all it wants to avoid war decks and rejoin later. |
