anyone else think these ships are awesome?
adrestia's stats are perfect, can go duel prop ( notice the *CAN* preferably in a gang with guardians, so if you get neuted you can get cap back) which is cap stable, deals 900+ DPS, 50KEHP ( bit weak, but good resistances for repping) with snakes, goes 2.5km/s (3.5km/s with heat) with mwd, 1km/s with AB (1.5km with heat) 22/27km *SCRAM*
^ overpowered, but its limited, so expected

Can't remember exactly which thread it was, but a PL member posted a Killmail link with a Mimir on it a while back. So while they may not be used frequently, they are used (and probably lost too).

adrestia is what the deimos should've been
now that CCP has released the adrestia, they won't even touch the deimos ---

Have you tried that puppy out in EFT? I can see why they wouldn't want the Deimos to be like that. With all "end of tree" skills at level 4, not even all 5s it was, in theorie, putting out 807 DPS with CN Anti-matter and Hammerhead IIs and only 2 MagStab IIs. 672 DPS just from the turrets, 754 DPS with 3 MagStab IIs, that would be overpowered on a freely available ship, to put it mildly. Add a Hybrid RoF and Dmg rig and things get really nasty.
To put it into perspective, a Neutron Brutix with CN Anti-matter only puts out 660 DPS from it's turrets with 3 MagStab IIs, and that's with BC lvl 5. Total DPS of a Brutix (including a flight of Hammerhead IIs) is 794 DPS.
This is all of course without overheating.

the vigilant which is currently ingame receives a 75% bonus to hybrid turret damage, is freely available, and reaches far higher DPS numbers.

Someone other than me has surely noticed how well it nano's right?
Over 500 gun dps with rails, a tracking bonus, super long range scram, similar speed to a Vaga but more agile, bigger drone bay and oh yes, completely cap stable... Putting the 'irate' into 'Pirate' |

That's completely true, but the same goes for every blasterboat in the Gallente arsenal.

then you should know that such ungodly ammounts of dps is actually balanced by the fact that the ship can't shoot anything beyond arm's reach.
tbh this is how blaster ships should've been: I don't care if they have the range of a wet pogo stick, meaning that a blaster ship needs to commit itself to the attack. what I want is blasters to be that "OMFGFACEMELTGETITOFFME!" effect they had a few years ago
now they simply don't deal enough damage to be worthwhile in the range they operate ---

gallente hac's on paper are very very similar to the vagabond but the issue of gallente being unable to nano to full effectiveness is because of the weapon system, not the ship. if you ignored the bonus and made the deimos into an AC boat, it would perform just like a vagabond (minus the bonuses herp derp)
the issue is that rails fail miserably when compared to autocannons, down to tracking, damage, etc. such a boat would lose its own dps simply by being fast.

It has a 50% tracking bonus, which does a lot to offset the inherently rubbish tracking of rails, loses almost none of its dps to falloff and the damage bonus means it does very good damage with them as well. Properly flown nanoships always have ways of reducing transversal - people relying on 'orbit+F1' will, of course, get poor results.
I'd think someone ending up with one of these things would be capable of using such a fit. 3 nano's make it ungodly fast and agile - range control = control of the the fight which is pretty necessary when flying a priceless ship! Putting the 'irate' into 'Pirate' |

with 4 officer magstabs, faction ammo, and the best hardwirings,(overloading ofc) you are looking at about 1350 DPS.... that strikes me as a lot coming from a ship witch will move at 3.5km with just an overloaded MWD, no speed mods, hell if you are stupid enough to use void you would get 1425DPS, thats the limit of what some battleships can do ok very expensive, but i'm glad the demios isn't like this!

Because it's a lot of fun to play in a unique ship with 10 vs 1.
Reason that these ships are hardly used is because if they are, everyone and their dog will be after you. It's better to use these ships in future tournaments.

It's not a problem to control transversal and melt face at 20km with cruiser-sized LR guns. The only problem is that you can't really kill frigs well enough that way and that's a bad thing solo. The reason railguns are not so often used is besides the guns having some problems, the ships you'd fit them on are typically too fitting/slot starved to make use of them well enough.
