Currently using a drake for class 2 sites and soon to try out class 3's I thought about using my raven instead as in theory it should be able to tank better and do more damage. After searching for a raven fit thou all the advice i can find is to fly a drake. I just cant believe that a drake can be better than a raven for killing sleepers.
Anyone got suggestions for a raven fit, 1 that can fly solo and with a little refitting fly in a fleet too. Or am i far better off flying a drake and working towards a tengu or a nighthawk or whatever and leave the raven for level 4 missions.

Cruise missiles do less damage on frigate and cruiser sized targets commonly found in Class 2.
I hear torpedoes are nearly useless all together on frigate and cruiser sized targets.

and i assume fitting target painters to compensate for smaller targets would compromise the tank to much. Still most of the time spent on sites in a class 2 is killing the 1-2 Battleships that spawn

You assume correctly.

The thing with drakes is their bonus resist from battlecruiser skill which gives up to 25% bonus tank to omni damage. That's why it's easier to tank a drake for sleepers then a Raven a Raven has a harder time with the omni damage.

Drake outtanks Raven several times over. It's one of the best sub capital tanks. The only tank that's superior is the Nighthawk, which is essentially a tech 2 drake.

Rattlesnake has trouble keeping drones alive against sleepers...

This changes the moment you have one or more wingmates.
The moment remote rep becomes available the higher damage output of the raven makes it better than the drake. RR also means you have a slot to spare for a painter.
Being in the site with 2+ ships considerably lessens drone aggro, as long as thse ships generate aggro themselves through rr und their own damage output.
Another thing that you will encounter in c3+ wormholes is sentryguns/sleepers at more than 75 km. The drake gets serious range problems in these scenarios.

Only if you're dumb enough to think you're in a mission, not a wormhole.

In my Corp we live in a WH, we originally used BS for C3 sites, but we have changed to BC now, and foudn it a LOT quicker to do the sites.
If you have the skills i believe u can solo C3s in a drake, if not we can run C3s with just 3 drakes.
We use the BS for the C4s now.
Some of the guys who fly Harbys do have to warp off when doing C3s, but we have never had a drake have to leave yet. normally by time the shield tank starts becoming an issue the sleeprs change targets. --------------------------- Shipoopi!

If you want to know the fit i use for raven is something like this. This is designed to be part of a RR gang. (at work so cant remember exact)
Highs-
Best cruise launchers you can fit, A Large Remote Armour Rep A Prob launcher (just incase u get trapped)
Meds
A Sensor Booster (take range and scan scripts, some of anomalys are a pain) The rest are Cap Rechargers
Lows 2x1600 plates a Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane and a BCU
Rigs Large Trimark armour pumps
I think i am missing a low slot there? not sure, however this fit has never caused me a problem and you can run the RR and all missiles no problem permanantly. Obv a gang fit only. This gives an EHP of over 100000hp....again im at work i could be wrong.
For a drake, i use the standard perma tank,
Highs Hvy Launchers Problauncher
Med Photon Scattering 2 Invul fields 3 Large Shield extenders
Lows Bcu Shield Power Relay 2 Power Diagnostics Systems
Rigs Erm the ones u normally put on this drake, i cant remember the name
the lows u can play around with to get a little extra damage or shield repair i use this as i like a little extra damage. --------------------------- Shipoopi!
