This is likely the reason devs don't speak as freely as they might like. Their words could be taken out of context, and turned into something people could see as a loophole or even a sanction for certain actions.

what if my step father grease me up and gently poke me till I give up my account password? Would this "under duress" account sharing be a violation of myself or CCP??

No, only the account's original creator may log into the account at any point in time. The "minor child" clause states that you may create a account on behalf of your minor child; However, you may not log into that account, only the child.
So no, direct family may not share accounts.

Let's rephrase that PRACTICALLY, there's next to no way to detect if people from the same household using the same shared computer (or even multiple computers) are alts of a single person or belong to different persons, so for all intents and purposes, any people that live under the same roof may share to their heart's content as long as they don't tout it loudly and repeatedly. OFFICIALLY, you are not allowed to use anybody else's account. UNOFFICIALLY, account sharing with household members is quite well tolerated, as long as you don't get your family/roommates/whatever angry at you so they delete your characters or something like that, because you're not getting reimbursed for any of it no matter how upset you might be.

I think the OP mistakenly thought that CCP was recommending violation of the EULA.
There is always a difference between what someone says and what another person interprets as the meaning.
Nice try though!

Account sharing is forbidden because ccp does not want to spend time dealing with recovering assets the other person lost/sold from your account.
With account sharing forbidden the resulting damages to your account are your own problem to deal with.

Cynicism apart, EVE tends to generate the kind of drama that doesn't mix well with account sharing. If you've ever done any kind of customer support, you'd understand why CCP would want to stay well clear of any kind of involvement of that.

My little brother isn't going to steal my account.
*EDIT*
Not allowing account sharing does not prevent account sharing, and you're rather naive to think it does.
Allowing account sharing wouldn't really change anything either because its up to YOU as a player to decide who to trust with your account. So getting your **** stolen by a player would still be your fault.
*EDIT 2*
for clarity malcanis, the EDIT #1 was not really directed at you sort of just a broad statement.

Maybe you don't think so (and maybe you're right) but I've seen this sort of thing happen in games over the last ten years and the "older brother" always says the same thing. I've seen stuff and characters moved, sold, destroyed, deleted, and all manner of other stuff. I've seen exploits and cheats and people saying "I didn't do that, it must have been my younger brother."
So, maybe you're right, maybe you're not, but just because YOUR brother wouldn't do this, doesn't mean no one's would.

Agreed, but doesn't stop people creating petitions and bogging down the support system. .

On a more serious note, yes account sharing is not allowed. Obviously CCP Soundwave needs to do some cleaning in CCP HQ for not following rules.

For the people taking this way too serious: notice the smiley in the thread title. I can fully understand this jokingly being said in the heat of the moment. Tbh I don't care either way since account sharing doesn't bother me but I'll never do it personally so I'm not affected in any way shape or form.

So what you are saying is that CCP Soundwave was encouraging players to intentionally break the EULA?!
