I need some advise, please. To me it is always suspicious when someone gives away free stuff. Everyone wants something in return, if they admit it or not does not matter. No one has too much ISK ...
What would you do if you find out that another corp is buying stuff for one of your corp members?
Would you feel offended and maybe hire a merc to "pay back"?
Would you accept it and not worry about the loyalties of your corp members or your corp being poisoned by others?
Would you not care at all? --

I would totally not concern myself with things as trivial as one of my corp members being paid off.

It was not a pay off but he was done a favour. The corp member did not do anything to deserve it or to earn it. Some outsider wanted the member to have something and it was far more expensive than the corp member could have afforded at that moment. --

The first thing you need to do is get the jealousy juices flowing. Straight after this, you need to feel the lumps of hurt on your ass, then post on the forums about it.
Next it's a case of see if you can steal his stuff

Quite possibly this is your corp member's alt? A lot of people make their isk with an established character, then support a novice alt to use for pvp or other risky activities.

Excuse?! Are you saying I am being jealous of not getting the same sweets when I see a stranger giving sweets to my children? If so then you are being naive.
In EVE, if some other corp gives free stuff to my members and these do not know how to feel about it and I need to care of it if I do not want them running off to other corps, then it certainly is something worth to discuss. My current problem really is that the sum was not that much to justify hiring a merc, but I still have not given up the idea!! --

Say, aren't you that deranged person that liked to claim people participating in hulkageddon are dangerous sociopaths in real life?
I think it's not your corp members you need to worry about to be really honest with you...

I would say you need to realize that your members can do whatever they want and accept items from anyone in the game... They are not your property, and they can do as they please.
If they see you getting angry about them receiving gifts from another corporation, then they may leave because you are being jealous.
This is a game, treat it as such.

I am not angry about my members. I am angry over an outsider giving free stuff to my people. They are not dumb and they can make their own ISKs. Just because they have only started the game and therefore not much ISK does not make them poor sods who need some "ISK love". --

Have you even bothered talking to your corpmember? It's pretty dumb to make a thread about this with so little information. Just because you cannot comprehend an act of generosity does not mean it doesn't happen.
It's one of the following:
1. A simple donation 2. A transfer from an alt or friend 3. Payment for a service you are not aware of (and now the tinfoil) 4. A bribe to defect to a better corp 5. A bribe to provide intel / screw your corp over
If you can't handle a noob getting (presumably) a trivial handout you should kick the player from your corp.

I do know the details. The part, which you do not get, is that I do not disclose them. Now stay on topic and do not post your opinions about me. I will not care about the opinions you have about me unless you explicitly ask me to do so! --

When it makes someone feel uncomfortable. See, some players just do not have the "fire" in them yet. Or call it the "killer instinct". It is not a big issue when you know how to deal with it. However, a carebear who thinks he can come a long and spoil my members with free stuff is like poison. I'd rather have a bunch of noobs ripping it out of a carebear than having a carebear giving it to them.
Now, I do not want to have an army of zombie killer noobs ganking the crap out of high-sec, but having a good instinct is never bad. In the end did I have to double the offer to make it worth for my member and to embarrass the carebear. Now I would like to make it "worth" for the carebear, too. Just not sure how much I should pay for a merc, or if I am throwing good ISK after bad. --

No, it would not. See, someone enjoyed himself too much during a mining op, resulting in him getting a free Retriever. Having some fun is good, having too much fun, and with mining, is wrong.
Would you not be offended of some "generous" donor gave you a mining barge or exhumer for free? I am sure to some would this be an outrageous insult and not only an offence.
But, yes, war-dec me and see what it gets you. --

You should post here more often White this is quite a high level of amusement even for C&P.

Being a CEO myself I would have to say that the information you have provided is not enough to make a judgment call on what to do. I will give some examples of what I mean.
If you trust your corp member implicitly, I would approach them and first ask whats going on, but secondly try and work out some sort of deal with him that ends up with the other corp funding my corps activities for as long as we can get away with.
If you aren't so close but still trust them and don't think they would do anything to harm your corp. Ask them if its an alt or what.
If you don't really keep a tight reign on your corp members, or don't know this one very well. Watch them and try and work out if they are planing on harming your corp in any way.
If you suspect them of planing to harm your corp, or think this might turn in to an issue later, give them a chance to explain then kick them from corp.
If you out and out know they are a spy planing to take down your corp. Give them some meaningless role so they cant just quit corp and then pod them as often as possible. Or perhaps try and scam them out of their stuff (were moving to 0.0 guys! Trade all your stuff to xxx to get it moved). Or use them as a counter spy without their knowledge? Possibilities are endless.

Dude... relax , people actually give away free stuff all the time, it being a expencive skill book, ( advanced learning, anyone? ) Or a roundom ship still dusting away in a hanger.
Ive been given cruisers when i could not afford to pvp with them, now i return the favour to a new guy not being able to afford one or able to risk one.
Ive also payed "roundom" noobs with ships or gear to do jobs for me i could not be arsed to do so, It being gathering intel, or hauling some crap.
Of course, he also can be payed to gather intel on your ass, to see whats there to steal.. .. its... eve... :)

This sounds like a scam.
It sounds like you pretend to be extreme hurting over gifts. Then when you have the crowd hooked, you tell the crowd you are serious hurting over a retriever, or PEANUTS as the rest of us call it.
Then you hope that the "gifts" of more retriever and peanuts starts flooding in.
And if it's not a scam, then it bloody well should be.

Can you increase the offer? 1b is not really that great of a sum. But if not, then, sure, hand it offer within your 24h time frame.
If 1b is not a great sum then why cry about getting a free retriever?
Thank you for proving how hypocritical you are in your original posts 'argument'.
