I need some advise, please. To me it is always suspicious when someone gives away free stuff. Everyone wants something in return, if they admit it or not does not matter. No one has too much ISK ...
What would you do if you find out that another corp is buying stuff for one of your corp members?
Would you feel offended and maybe hire a merc to "pay back"?
Would you accept it and not worry about the loyalties of your corp members or your corp being poisoned by others?
Would you not care at all? --

Originally by: The'Best Hellfury I would totally not concern myself with things as trivial as one of my corp members being paid off.
It was not a pay off but he was done a favour. The corp member did not do anything to deserve it or to earn it. Some outsider wanted the member to have something and it was far more expensive than the corp member could have afforded at that moment. --

Excuse?! Are you saying I am being jealous of not getting the same sweets when I see a stranger giving sweets to my children? If so then you are being naive.
In EVE, if some other corp gives free stuff to my members and these do not know how to feel about it and I need to care of it if I do not want them running off to other corps, then it certainly is something worth to discuss. My current problem really is that the sum was not that much to justify hiring a merc, but I still have not given up the idea!! --

This is a game, treat it as such.
I am not angry about my members. I am angry over an outsider giving free stuff to my people. They are not dumb and they can make their own ISKs. Just because they have only started the game and therefore not much ISK does not make them poor sods who need some "ISK love". --

I do know the details. The part, which you do not get, is that I do not disclose them. Now stay on topic and do not post your opinions about me. I will not care about the opinions you have about me unless you explicitly ask me to do so! --

Originally by: Rin Vires Since when is getting something for nothing bad?
When it makes someone feel uncomfortable. See, some players just do not have the "fire" in them yet. Or call it the "killer instinct". It is not a big issue when you know how to deal with it. However, a carebear who thinks he can come a long and spoil my members with free stuff is like poison. I'd rather have a bunch of noobs ripping it out of a carebear than having a carebear giving it to them.
Now, I do not want to have an army of zombie killer noobs ganking the crap out of high-sec, but having a good instinct is never bad. In the end did I have to double the offer to make it worth for my member and to embarrass the carebear. Now I would like to make it "worth" for the carebear, too. Just not sure how much I should pay for a merc, or if I am throwing good ISK after bad. --

No, it would not. See, someone enjoyed himself too much during a mining op, resulting in him getting a free Retriever. Having some fun is good, having too much fun, and with mining, is wrong.
Would you not be offended of some "generous" donor gave you a mining barge or exhumer for free? I am sure to some would this be an outrageous insult and not only an offence.
But, yes, war-dec me and see what it gets you. --

Quote: Don't ask for opinions and get ****ed because you got them, and next time please formulate something more interesting than "wordswordswordsCAREBEARwordswordsCAREBEARwords.."

I am asking for advise on how to deal with a player who is throwing his ISK at a certain corp member, not for opinions on what to do with the ISK. Not everyone is as needy as you.
My people can do whatever they want. And so can I. If I desire to get someone shot, because he is throwing around with ISK near my members then it is not for you to judge. I can thow my ISKs at my members, too, but why should I?
Better than giving me your opinion about me, tell me what you think about someone who throws his ISKs around. And do not think about the ISK when you do, think about the player who does. --

From your later comments, someone took pity on one of your corp members who is new and didn't have much stuff, and helped them out, and you feel this is WRONG? WTF is the matter with you? Surely this must be a troll, nobody is this stupid.
What makes you think the member likes to receive pity together with ISKs?
Quote: ... maybe they should be getting some benefit from being in your corp?
Like not being pitied by other players while playing the game? I think it is worth something. The player would not only receive ISKs, but could get satisfaction from knowing that the donor got shot by a merc, who I hired, for pitying him.
I do not want corp members to grief or to harass one another, nor do I want outsiders to pity them.
Quote: Make an alt or two, create corp, boast on forums!
I get criticised for having only three members by players who are not even running their own corp. It is only right to point out the obvious stupidity involved in such criticism. Where do you see me boasting about being a CEO? You mean I boast when I take my role serious? --

Call me dense... but if your Corp member would be offended sufficiently to be upset by recieving a gift of a few isk/ship (by reading into it that the person was pitying him), wouldn't he be just as equally upset and offended my you spending a ton of isk to sort his problem out (implying you think he can't handle his own problems - all the more insulting because this time he's being 'pitied' by a friend)?
No, wrong. The player was pitied or more precisely patronized, which offended me. I am not going to tell you the details. It was however not a simple "Here, some free ISKs. Good bye!" --

Well, you now make it easy!
See, how does one explain it when a drunken yerk is throwing around with ISKs, patronizing teenage players for the sake of hanging his own meat out, and then to let them down while going for another beer?!?
Does one actually need to send mercs after you or does your ship blow itself up whenever you are taking a nap on the keyboard? --
