I had this problem several times now. I'm in a fleet with my corp mate. I launch FOF missiles because I'm jammed by NPCs.
But the FOFs are attacking my fleet mate instead of the rat! This seems to be a bug imo and I'll file a bug report.
But to have a quick solution...is there any workaround? Something I can do or I should not do to avoid said behavior?
Imagine the embarrassment! We're attacked and ECMned by evul pirates, I choose to use FOFs. But by doing this I just help the pirates to wreck my fleet mate
Thanks! -

A) targeting you AND B) using repair drones, armor repair or sheild boosts on you OR even remote ECCM or sensor boosting on you?
If so then I don't think FOFs see any difference between a "friendly attack" versus an NPC attack.
You are being targeted and hit by something.

No and no. He was just in my fleet. We didn't have a target lock on each other. -

Standard FoF missile behaviour is to attack everything that's not a threat to you, whether it's friend or foe, yes. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

It shouldn't happen. Your fleet mate must of shot you once or something like that... I used to AFK do plex'es with my FOF cerb + scimatar backing it up... happened only once when I had scimatar's drones attack cerb accidentally.
FOF can distinguish between friendly support modules and attacks...

I'd say it was working as intended to be honest, "friend or foe" means exactly that - it's indiscriminate.

Friend or Foe, shoots the closest thing. Hell I stopped carrying them because they kept shooting the scenery...

FOF's are a bit misunderstood. They will attack the closest object - whether it is a fleetmate, npc rat, or an npc structure. Have your fleetmate keep a distance from you so that the rats are closer (to you) than him. I like 80km if using hml's (the reason for that should be self-explanatory). I assume this is gurista faction rats you're talking about, another option for them is eccm. You'll still get jammed, but at fewer intervals.

I never had aproblem in pvp with fofs. They would only go after a fleetmate if RR/sensor boosting etc was involved. From my observation they pick a target relative to distance and according to an aggro table like drones do. In the case of fofs however, distance is the deciding factor.

False false and false most other replys are correct FoF's shoot the closest thing with a Modual active on you over the last 15min drones included.
