Edited by: Arajus on 09/06/2010 12:22:11 Edited by: Arajus on 09/06/2010 12:21:47 Ok, Nanite Repair Paste costs about 1750 ISK now (Eve-Market).
To produce Nanite Repair Paste using the corresponding Blueprint (Linkage) you need:
4(5)x Nanites (P2) 1x DataChips (P3) 1x Gel Matrix Biopaste (P3)
>> 4(5) P2 Items and 2 P3 Items which will produce 10x Nanite Repair Paste with an value of ~17500 ISK. How many P3 Items can you produce per day? I think not enough...

Bolded the important part. When NPC orders are removed, how many people do you think are going to be willing to get into PI, produce nanite paste and sell it for 1750 ISK?
The price then will be the equilibrium point; at which players are prepared to produce nanite paste for that amount of ISK, as buyers are willing to consume paste for that amount of ISK. And it's going to be much higher than 1750 ISK. --

If we would have a free market, then yes I agree. A fair price would be generated. But we have no free market, not for some time. As player can buy for 1750 ISK now! Stockpiling ruins the free market and thereby PI for some time.

Attention Pod pilots, buy all the nanite repair paste you can now, its only going to go up in price. That seems like a great way to insure lots of demand when the npc orders are taken down.

cos of basic economy
I dont understand why you guys are saying the price will go up, in my eyes this is a basic demand-supply case. More paste = less ISK

It takes 6 planets to produce nanite repair paste and resources must be hauled between planets. I don't mind doing the work but I do mind the click fest.
Clicking on 100+ extractors per day is not my idea of fun and frankly it hurts my hand. Pi is just too green and eve offers much better play mechanics then Pi and better rewards doing missions / mining.
I hope Pi improves in the future because right now it's not much fun and it gets old fast.
I would like to see an improvement with the extractors mechanic, including STOPPING extractors and changing cycle times manually without having to wait for the timer to run out.

Lol, I love how people that want to do every stage of production on their own complain how tiresome clickfest is - join a corp, make it a joint activity. Also - specialization on some product. Also - buy P0, P1 - but you won't buy P0 and P1 at the moment - because market is ****ed up. So you are ****ed up as well atm. The only solution - Click more :) Or go.. get a life?
To Arajus, well... Originally by: me market is ****ed up

I am just fine with the click fest. PI works for me. I have a few times a day I can check all my stuff. I make about 10 Mil a day for about 35 mins of clicking and Hauling. I hope others hate it so much they stop. When the economy becomes what it will be, I will make a killing.

Ok, the complaint was that PI was a clickfest, it is. No other form of industry requires the sheer amount of clicking that PI does. Being able to group extractors and having them remember the last cycle they were set to would eliminate most of this clicking (I'm glad they remember their routes). And making it a joint activity will not help. You can have up to six planets that you alone must click through to get things done.
I believe it will get better with time, but please at least have some idea of what you are talking about before dismissing the complaints.

Why PI is a clickfest is simply to discourage people from doing it.
Imagine if extractor cycles was automated, wouldn't _EVERYONE_ in EVE be doing PI?

Or imagine if PI maintenance was like (nearly) every other task in the game and required clicking AND thought?! Why does everyone seem to think that the only options are the ridiculous click-fest, or complete automation??

CCP introduced a bug feature where repairs would take much more nanite paste then it used to to repair, so they reduced the NPC price to compensate. I forgot to mention that you are in fact reading something that is called a signature. |
