Edited by: Sakaane Eionell on 09/06/2010 23:02:34 Will you also be revamping the customer service ability of the people behind the [email protected] address? Such as, instructing them on how to reply to emails sent there and address customer concerns in a timely manner? How about the ability of the employees to make sure the merchandise ordered by the customer is the merchandise actually sent to them?
The background for these questions: In the fall, what I ordered was not what was shipped to me. Oh, the box said the contents were what I wanted, but the actual contents were different. I contacted [email protected] about having my order corrected and to date no one has replied. Given this, I probably won't ever order from the store again, given how expensive it was in the first place to get the wrong stuff.

The EVE Store has so much cool stuff, what we, EU peeps would have to pass. To order a lousy T-shirt for 19.95 $, the shipping costs are 65.95 $ (85.95$ for quick delivery)
Tis not bode well

Would love to buy something from the store. But the shipping costs to Europe are just silly. --

Please consider using DHL for international shipping. They are reliable, fast, cost half as much and offer bulk discounts to businesses.
With FedEx Europe I had nothing but trouble so far. I had to wait 4 months for a replacement lens for my glasses because they couldn't even find out who they had delivered it to.

It would also be nice if the store listed dimensions of objects. I have no idea of the size of those magnets, for example. I can more or less guess the size of the luggage tags, based on normal size for that sort of tag, but I'd prefer to know.

We are actually in the process of updating all the product text with that info, as well as other info like what materials items are made of. Some of the products have that info, the rest we have to manually go through one by one and update them.
As for EU shipping prices, we definitely know and are looking for whatever options we can - and yes that includes DHL. We looked at DHL last year and I think they actually quoted us more than FedEx and our shipper has had more reliability problems with them than FedEx. I will bring it up again though to be sure. We've multiple times been well into negotiations on european warehouses and shipping agents and each time the costs to the end consumer were ridiculous so we are still looking for a good dance partner so to speak.

Well I hate to say it but I tried to order two t-shirts several times and each time it failed and I give up. First it kept trying to force the most expensive shipping on me stating the other options were not available (even though I am in California) and am not paying $25 shipping for two t-shirts. Secondly although the final order page states you 'may' sign up for an account, it errors out if you don't (and I don't particularly want to).
The shirts would have been nice to have but the ordering process and shipping costs - pass.

Honestly, I'm not sure which is worse. How can you not have delivery into an EU country (yeah, Austria is not that big and important but still )

Wow that's pretty sad! I live in Switzerland I wonder if they can ship to me
With these shipping prices shouldn't you be able to pay with ISK (shipping only, not actual product)? Would be a nice alternative and would definitely increase sales on the store imo...

Lol. I am not paying 150% of the ordered price for shipping. Come on CCP, get your act together. Your never ending hubris and the the eternal resulting fail gets tiring, you know.

Bullcrap. I just think that you have most of the 'potential' customers covered with US delivery catchment and sod the rest. The thing thats even more fustrating is that it wasn't always this way. I bought Eve goods before, the collectable EVE art book, (hat, socks even the usb stick (was a birthday present infact), and on each of those times, shipping was a fraction of what is listed today. I leave it to you on to work that out.
Oh and aside: USPS offer far better rates, and are a fraction o what FedEx charge. I have often had to source IT parts etc from US to Europe.

It gets worse yet - beware. I ordered two t-shirts at 20 bucks each, I was NEVER given a shipping optiion... and then was charged automatically $23.54 for 2-day shipping which I did not ask for (and more than the cost of one of the shirts - and I am in America).
Am cancelling order thru my credit card unless they respond immediately to my complaint email.
Frankly shocking and rediculous. I love Eve and now feel screwed by them.

My 2 cents on the eve-online shop
I have had issues in the past with the shop and my main gripe has always been the lack of methods to establish communication, and the lies that are spun etc
However;
Products are exciting, good quality, goods changing to meet needs etc all the main ingrediants for a successful retail outlet with the exception of the service - No matter what you say CCP if you had experienced what i and many others have, you wouldnt shop at your store even if it was buy one get one free coupled free delivery, Only way i get what i want now is buy in bulk during the fanfest's - as i know i can inspect the goods, i know ill get the goods i wanted as they are in my hands and if there was a problem i could grab a member of staff and if i was fobbed off with 'sorry the manage is on perma holiday' i could camp the shop entry/exit point. - compared with order goods, dont get what you ordered try to communicate get told the manager is on holiday (again) petition get fobbed off with 'our logs dont show anything' esculate coz the GM is a noob to get told 'ill walk over and have a word with them' get a apology after 2 weeks maybe 3 and you recive a EON magazine in the post 'free' but you already have it as i used to subscribe. - Customer service was a epic fail but im waiting to hear a avalanche of players providing good feedback before i use you guys again

Poor Rhayger the post started so well with people excited and a silly mishap of no link. Now its turned into a hatefest against the shops customer service, shipping, and charges. =P
Anyways I find UPS/USPS cheap in the US for most shipping things. I also have found UPS to always out do Fed Ex and DHL this is a truth fact.

Never having bought anything from the store (was looking at getting some t-shirts, but as I said above, CCP won't actually sell their stuff to me here in Europe), the thing that bothers me the most about CCP is the Hubris.
Eve is an amazing game and CCP are good game designers, but CCP's marketing is so over the top and, just as in this case, almost always promises too much and delivers far less.
That, if you ask me, is the source of 90% of the player emorage here on the forums.
It would be so nice if CCP actually had the bolls to be straight with their customers.

After being hammered with import duty, I'll not be buying anything again tbh. CCP also listed the price before the actual discount price I paid, on the invoice, so I therefore got hit with a larger tax bill. Nice.

what i find even more amusing, is that they will try and let the thread die and get forgotten and in maybe a yr maybe more re launch the shop hoping that players/customers will have forgotten

I would order more things from the store, but last time I did I got screwed over. The one item I actually received was defective. The other never even showed up. They know how to charge your credit card though...
When you email them about it, they don't answer. When you try to call, a machine picks up. How about you work on your non-existant customer service before you go expanding the store...

Oh look, my post complaining about how I got ripped off by the EVE store has conveniently disappeared. Amazing.
Good thing I copied it.
Maybe I'll post about it on my blog, and also include how your posts seem to somehow magically disappear when you try to talk about it, instead of CCP just trying to make things right...

GUYS all mighty lag chasers and money makers i think you should stop your everywhere advertising and do some better managing to your ways of selling.

Is there any chance we might see some other ship models on the store? I am interested in picking up a couple, but the selection doesn't include a single model I'd want on my desk or shelf.
The tier 3 battleships, or the new Scorpion would be nice... :)
