Which would be better to train to level 5 first? Looking for people with experience for input. Reasoning appreciated.

Which do you like more? It's kinda hard to go wrong with either of them. -Jin Nib Trading on behalf of Opera Noir since: 2009.03.02 03:53:00

It depends on your playstyle, really. How do you like to play? Yeah I am a pirate. What are you gonna do about it? http://eve.battleclinic.com/killboard/combat_record.php?type=player&name=Mutant+Caldari http://roadkill.igs-corp.net/?a=pilot_detail&plt_id=32678 |

Edited by: Squall D''Lyes on 14/06/2010 16:22:29 I like the speed aspect of the minmatar and the neuting/drone aspect of the amarr. would probably go w/ minmatar first if i did it again.

Minmatar all the way. I trained Amarr for a Curse and I regret it because it really isn't an Amarr-style ship... it uses Missiles, Drones, and Shields... which means you have to train a whole new set of skills for the rest of the Amarr lineup. At least with Minmatar there's a clear lineup of ships you can get into relatively quickly.

Hmmm. It is actually a tough decision tbh.
Both have lots of terrific ships with few low points.
What particular classes do you want to fly?
Will you train logis? If so that could be a way to choose as the guardian is very different the scim.
HICs too, as the broadsword is a lot better imo than the devoter.

Amarr and Minmatar have awesome t2 cruisers, but only Minmatar has a decent t1 cruiser. |

Depends on what you have your skills in currently. Both races have great ships and I fly both on a regular basis.
The Arbitrator is a great and flexible ship and is one of my favorite T1 hulls. I also fly the PIlgrim extensivly for solo work. The Zealot is a great HAC sniper and if you hae the missile skills the Sac is also a good choice.
The Rupture is a ship that has served me well. It is a strong brawler ship and can hold it's own. On the T2 side the Vagabond is still a good choice for HAC work. I also like a probiing Raiper as a fleet scout and tackler.
Basically look at your skills and see which ships would better fit what you have and the type of flying you do.
Btw if you are takling PvE... The Zealot wins.

I have both and I strongly prefer Amarr Cruiser 5 for the Curse/Pilgrim/Zealot.

Or you can be like me and have all four cruiser skills to V :D.
But seriously, both are good choices. I'd personally go with Minny first, because most of the skills you would have to train for them go well if you decide to crosstrain over to Amarr later. Rapier, Scimi, Muninn, Vaga, Rupture are all strong ships.
