Edited by: King Gore on 14/06/2010 07:13:46 ..then send in your form. Not that hard. From what I understand only 76 people applied. That's beans compared to the number of those who are actually complaining. I know I saw this number in either an eve post (from a dev) or a dev blog. Most likely the post. If any one can find it and link that would be great, and if I'm wrong on the number then I'll change it.
I would also go so far as to say 75% of the 15k that tuned in the watch the AT8 aren't posting, either in favor of or against any of the commentators. If they were, the forums would be more flooded than they are now. All this complaining about people talking about what's happening in front of your eyes is a little silly.
Granted some of you have been playing for a while and don't want to hear the obvious "once a caldari ship loses it's shields, it's toast". But others, like new players and potential new players want to know advantages and disadvantages. Like separate classes in more traditional MMO's. Sometimes reinforcing this basic knowledge is needed in a highly publicized manner. ALL OF THE COMMENTATORS HAVE BEEN DOING THIS. ALL COMMENTATORS DO IT.
CCP reaches out and is giving players more involvement with the company, it may not be thrilling but it is unique.

So by your logic you can only complain about the meltdown at the Tjenobyl nuclear powerplant if you are ready to go run a nuclear reactor yourself?
By same logic you cant find a book orr a journalist bad, because why dont you just write a better book yourself or go report yourself?
You can also apply it to a bus. I dont have license to drive a bus, but I would prob complain anyway when the driver hit the 9th child trying to cross the street...
Let me give you this whole new thought: In order to see that someone is doing a bad job, you dont always have to be able to do the job yourself or even just feel like doing it.
What people dont like about the commentators is not that they tell basic stuff. Basic stuff is good, as it creates a good background to talk about the tactics being used. What people complain about is matches consisting of pretty much only wrong statements. If the commentators did atleast just tell what was going on instead of talking about exotic dishses, completely forgetting to tell when one of these fish-like spaceships die, people would complein a lot less. Now add in debt understanding of the strategies being used, and you have a really good commentator like Kil2.

If someone can do it better he/she really should apply, complaining about the people who did apply is not doing well, is not going to change anything. Signature removed for not being EVE related. Zymurgist |

Edited by: Yura Ghost on 14/06/2010 09:00:25 I like to know what is going on and I want to learn something.
This has nothing to do with " I could do it better or I have no right to complain cause I can't do it better."
Again when the quarterback fumbles behind the like I have the right to complain. I got money riding on the game.
We deserve to get the best Experience. And i wanna know all the reason's behind the matches. I wanna know what is being done and what is being done to counter it. I wanna know what is going through minds of the pilots and mainly all the strategies that are being used.
that might be a bit much to ask for. but that still doesn't change the fact that i still wanna know.
Edit: P.S. People should be tested, Hand Picked, and hired. not picked based on celebrity status.
They should be picked for talent knowledge also comes with talent. When they are paying the commentators they can afford to be more picky. right now it is slave labor.

No, but that's not what people are doing either.
It's more like: you can only complain about the media coverage of the meltdown if you have a degree in nuclear engineering and/or are a journalist yourself.
Quote: What people complain about is matches consisting of pretty much only wrong statements.
Then they need to stop getting hung up on details. All live commentary contains errors, and the only way for people to perceive that it consists of "only wrong statements" is because they get so flustered by the occasional errors that they stop listening for a while, and only come out of their self-induced nerd rage in time to hear another one. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

yeah the mistakes are few, they normally get picked up and corrected realtivly fast and it shows how hectic pvp can be a mess to keep tabs on,
mostly the main time they 'get it wrong' is when surprises are pulled and all us 'experts' are going yeah blah is so dead he is going to hang on rep to full?!?
but seriously if its live it can go wrong, and they do their best and are mostly right,
