Yep I'm still working, now as Associate Producer or as someone calls it an ass prod.
Incarna is still ongoing and looks very promising, personally I'm very excited to see how it develops. And, no I can't say more about it. I'd love too and I could talk for hours about it but were not allowed. For good reason though
I've been a lot with the EVE graphics team who are responsible for the graphics and the 3D models of EVE, which has been very cool as I hadn't seen much of that side of the game development.

Im always confused by the 'we're not allowed' thing. I mean I get for new game releases some times silence is maybe a good thing (as it might be total rubbish), but its not like Incarna's a secret - so why the covert ops cloak?
I blame those folks in marketing

Well it's partly marketing but people get very hung up on every word we say and take it as gospel and generally go crazy with how it would all turn out etc. It could be the case we talk about something that we really want to do only to realize later that there ia a technological reason why it simply is not possible, providing we want to keep the programmers relatively sane. Then it would really suck to dissapoint.

Just take a look at Peter Molyneux (sp?), he went nuts talking about everything Fable and everything he wanted to do in Fable and everything that had ever entered his head regarding Fable, and then everyone flipped out on him because it wasn't everything he had ever said ever. Well you don't have to talk about it, just show us some more concept art thingies.
Thus far we've seen only 3 concept art visuals and a bunch off ingame screenshot (with the babe in red latex) and a? 2? pre-alpha? video(s). You must have new stuff that's screaming to get published. No point revealing it *after* it launches.

In case you missed it.. there was one of the biggest conflicts in EVE.. North vs South.. 25000 vs 25000 and guess what? Server could not handle it.. First attempt to take a station resulted in a system with more players in it then Jita ever saw .

Alliances should not be able to set standings, and should be limited in size to maybe 2000-5000 members.
An alliance should be the 'highest' form of grouping there could be. When people or corp enter an alliance, all other player alliances/corp should be red, and NPC corp neutral.
This would limit battles to something closer to what the server could manage and make EVE much more multi-faceted. Alliances could still make political agreements (nothing prevents that), but not be able to work effectively together in big battles.

Originally by: Creepy Goat There was an event ages ago where Concord went on vacation for a day, everyone just sat in station
never happened.
There was however an event, ages ago, in Crielere, having to do with a joint caldari-gallente station that was being built. And during that event, for a bit, there was an error that caused concord to target & shoot everyone, instead of just those who were criminally flagged... but only in Crielere, not tranquility wide, and it was not intentional to my knowledge.
Of course in the beginning... (well... a little bit after the beginning, as it took some time for anyone to be able to afford the first battleship bpos ) ... the players had battleships... but Concord did not... In those days you could shield tank Concord while you dealt with ore thieves in high sec... or alternately you could simply chain-spawn concord much like rats in a belt (no loot tables though... just lots of sec hits) But those days were very short lived, and concord has since received both larger ships and vastly superior equipment to put on those ships.

This would not work for several reasons: - Reducing alliance size will just end up in having something like Blob1 Alliance, Blob2 Alliance, Blob3 Alliance, etc. And they'd still all be working together as one alliance. - Setting other alliances and corps red will have little effect as people will still not shoot "allies", it will just make it a bit harder to see who's friend and who's foe. - It would not reduce the size of battles as people can still invite other people into fleets and work together, even without fleets people could still coordinate through programs as TeamSpeak. So you won't change that either.

We had an all-out war only just, with the entirety of the south invading the north. The south were pretty terrible though so we won and now eve is kind of in a quiet stage again. Couple pos battles in venal, and the stuff in scalding pass too.
The north was literally shattered by the amazing southern campaign which leaves me with nothing to do but plex and stroke my beard sagely whilst pondering why SirMolle's invasion was so terrible.

What might be interesting is the creation of another faction for no reason whatsoever and to have that faction go to war with all sorts of other factions, etc. Say, Khanid vs. Amarr? New Khanid faction? New Khanid faction ships with new weaponry, tech, etc., that they stole from an alien spacecraft that they salvaged. Throw a little wildcard into the mix.
Maybe Khanid Innovation has secreted away a new war fleet in some asteroid field blah blah blah that's why CCP gets paid the big kronas to come up with this junk.
Anyway, I care about bears and all that so I'll stare with my rainbow brite shirt and hope this happens.

The one thing I have always had an issue with is CCPs sense of balance which is why good ideas like this won't happen.
So many things in Eve are taken from life experience except for the one thing that could make this a really great game.. the element of suprise

Thanks, I thought it was a decent idea. Here's a more hashed-out idea:
1. Amarr-Khanid war. 2. Amarr empire falls into ruin. 3. Former Amarr empire space becomes largely 0.0 sec or lower sec thereby creating a land rush in the middle of the "sandbox" and forcing the bears that care more and more into null sec. Some Amarr empire still exists so that those who currently have Amarr characters still exist within the storyline. 4. Khanid becomes a new faction. 5. More ships for everyone. There aren't enough ships and some of the ships that exist are redundant or underpowered for pvp or pve. This game is about ships and I find that the choice of ships is often disappointing in both look and function. I could be wrong here, but how many people fly Bellicose? Was the tech 2 versions supposed to take care of the inherent problem that the Bellicose model looks like poop on a stick with wingy bits? 6. Fewer asteroid belts for everyone - fewer resources equals more fighting. 7. And I did not mean to go on this long - off topic. How deliciously naughty of me.
