Edited by: GavinGoodrich on 20/06/2010 21:42:05 This again
I used to give a damn about internet peens. Then I stopped caring. It's been a lot more fun and stress-free since then.
I've been blacklisted from just about anyone that's got ties to Hidden Snake for the last month, 'cause I called him out on being a ***** 'cause he thinks 50 vs. 50 (or fighting with even the slightest disadvantage) is suicide. Prooobably because the day prior, I told everyone to grab t1 gank, BC's and cruisers, and we got outnumbered/outweighed by a decent margin.
I've won fights with the odds against me, I've died in a fire with the odds in my favor. Honestly, I could really care less what happens to people's ships when I ask for a t1 brawl *for ****s n' grins* with nothing more expensive than an unrigged battlecruiser (and god forbid you throw cheap medium rigs on a BC anyway )
Right now, people are more concerned with waving thier ****s around than having fun in militia. So guess what? Everyone gets blue balled.
To hidden snake: Guess what happens when you're concerned with winning or losing? Eventually, someone wins or loses, and either way, both sides get blueballed because people leave on either side. You wanna spend 3 hours getting blueballed every night, be my guest.
TL DR=Caldari militia was bored, heavily outnumbered gallente when we left, were gonna leave anyway whether I made an alliance or not. I bring an alt back for nostalgia and fun, and got blacklisted 'cause I stepped on too many e-peens in the new era of the squids.
Meh.
Also: Hai gallente. If it weren't for you, Snake would have no one to wave his E-**** at. Keep up the good fight.
P.S. Bald Beaver--Sorry you lost money on me in the tournament this year, lol ATLAS deserved to win that fight. \o |

With all fairness to Hidden Snake (it come hard, believe me it does) when the current crop of Caldari fight at even odds with us Gallente, we hand them their heads damn near every time. Still, and this is important since he was suppose to be training new squidies, they wont learn how to fight in a fleet if they always run away.. Losing sucks, very much so, but some of the most important lessons are found there. Good case in point is the current standing of the systems between the Gallente and the Caldari.... We lost, horribly. But we rebuilt and started systematicly taking systems back. Now we own almost all our systems again and are making inroads in Caldari territory while being outnumbered by the Caldari milita by about 1500. LEARN or die....... (We prefer you die mind you)

Dont throw numbers around because when im flying in low sec I see alot more Gallente than I do Caldari so I would say we are outnumbered quite badly in low sec atm.
Yes your taking systems well done for that because your proving all the lame excuses and pathetic crying about the plex system was just sour grapes for getting your asses kicked earlier in the war.
Atm the Feds have the upper hand and by all means enjoy it while it lasts. Im sure the more Caldari space you take the resistance will stiffen untill your invasion is halted and pushed back.

Not our fault you guys stay in High-sec. I'd love to see more of you out here in our systems.

Yes, Gavin is popular because he brought the fight (many times crushing us with surprise logi fleets after we engaged etc). But more importantly that that - even when he was crushing us, or getting crushed, or camping us in nenna station with a 100man fleet: He was always a nice guy! Able to keep in mind we're all people on both sides just looking to have fun.
It's a welcome relief from the constant e-peen that seems to take over any cal/gal discussion after a while.

Please show me a post where I accuse you of flying a stabbed frigate, (and I don't think I've ever accused you of exploiting either. At least not in the "get you banned from playing the game" sense. Just using unbalanced game mechanics to your advantage). Just because one militia member says something, doesn't mean we all do.
I've accused you of heavily using alts for plexing, or of lots of smacktalk, and abusing game mechanics like standings bugs etc, but I don't think you've ever tried to deny (you've tried to rationalize it, sure) any of that.
EDIT: I do believe our earlier exchange was "chatgris: gf damar: eat **** ****faces", so it's not too surprising we haven't been all that friendly :)

When one member of MDP says it, then all members of MDP say it. After all, you pride yourself of being so united that it would be foolish to say that your members are free to say what they want without it meeting approval of all members (and thus bulk of FDU).

I dont mind, as long as FDU members are banned as well (more trash is cleaned that way).
I might add that FDU started using the exploits with the glorious Ankh as forerunner. This has all been well documented, not that FDU can take their head out of their rectums to actually understand it.

+1 for Gavin, when he was committed to the militia it was good fun lots of stuff was happening. He's committed elsewhere now and thats hardly surprising and expected. It was the direction that he and a lot of others were heading. The FW mechanics offer nothing to people who want to get deeper into more then one simple aspect of the game.
Quite frankly this constant e-peen waving (reminds me a of a Louis CK joke(NSFW)) between Calamari and Gallies is just plain tiring and boring. We are all here for the same thing which is to get some fun fights if nothing else Gavin was good at that. you are outnumbered in low sec yes, this is because your militia is afraid of low sec, when we were outnumbered we moved to lowsec, this forced us to become better. The reason you see more gallente in lowsec is because a large number of us live there full time, your militia can still outnumber us when it chooses to come out in force from its hisec home.

Wrong. It was see-saw back and forth for over two years, eventually each side blueballing the other due to lack of #'s, FC's, coordination, whatever it was at the time. So both sides lost, because the bigger side couldn't get fights.
There's no way to "win" faction war. Eventually one side, one way or another, will dominate much more often. The other will be forced to do very limited ops. Either way, it means a lot less pew for everybody. So there's no "winner" at all. CCP isn't fixing that either, regardless of how much anyone *****es about it.
If the CDI winds up dominating in two months (we've seen this trend before both ways) guess where your pilots are gonna go? Think they're gonna stick around when they can't get any action? Nope. No E-peen waving is gonna prevent that. Then it's gonna be "hey Snake, where else can we go for some pew?" And I guarentee 0.0 is gonna come up more than once \o |

Problem is that those blobs has no other reason to fight than fun factor. If enemy has superior numbers there will no be fight at all.
FW has no way to force enemy to fight so blobbing is useless crap.
Occupancy war should be the reason but because it has no real effect on anything it does not work either.

It's all about incentive, and always has been:
Plexing generates very little reward for the effort (unless you use alts to farm COSMOS missions, which few people are willing to do).
Occupancy means absolutely **** right now, and there's no hope of it changing, despite about 35 bajillion threads with awesome ideas for occupancy. CCP had the chance to fix this long ago, and only has *1* person on the staff doing anything with FW (as of last year's fanfest).
There will always be some way for the other side to grind isk. You can't permanently shut the other side down. You can't kick them out of space, take thier sov/stations/POS'es. If you killed a FW lowsec pos, whoopy doo, it makes very little difference.
All that's really left is the fun pew. Take away the fun pew and...what do you have left? \o |

Can we have a noobship fight? We can do it at a planet at tama. Like 50 guys on each side. When you die you just dock up and get a new one. No blobbing, no e-peen ***gotry, no primaries, just go ol' turkey shoot fun.
Really it should be done in T1 BCs, but the caldari dont seem to want to bring those out so.....

We've been hard up for good fleet fights with you guys lately, and we've a lot of newbies to train, as undoubtedly you do too. In any case, I've been looking for someone on the other side to work together with in the interest of both sides' new pilots. It's hard getting a truely equal fight as both sides tend to fleet up and come out to gank stragglers at different times. With this in mind, I propose we try out some small, prearranged fleet fights with ship restrictions to help give the new guys some exposure to how PVP should operate out here in the pipe.
I eagerly await your responses
PS. leave the politics at home, I just want to have a good time
PPS. Bring back Gavin 2010!
PPPS. This may unfortunately be too idealistic to work for the jaded hearts of EVE.
If I stay in militia, and if somehow the average IQ of the caldari milita goes up, I'll consider it.
Average Caldari Milita Fleet:
Quote: We start small, looking to have some fun, frigs, dessies, maybe a couple cruiser. We get a kill or two, then the hives in heyd/nisuwa wake up and blob us with BC, HACS, BS, etc. Ok, we'll just run away, ship up, and get a fun fight. (I'm usually WRONG).
We then spend about thrity minutes to an hour "shipping up" (or finding out that everyone doesn't have a bigger ship already fit, can't fly anything bigger than a frig, or I'm struggling to correct fail fits, and by then, people aren't willing to take advice and say let's just go!) So we're finnally correcting fits, people have actually taken the time to buy a ship (which honestly surprises me, as much time as we do spend 3 jumps from jita all day, no one has taken the time to go buy a nice set of ships...), and after about 20 minutes of myself yelling get to the safe spot, we finnally are about to head out for some fun.
Me: Scout, you still have eyes on that WT fleet? Scout: They've left 15 minutes ago Me: ...
Okay, whatever, we'll chase them, we didn't spend an hour grabbing x's, and telling people how to fit their ship to not get a fight. We finally find the WT "fleet" (Which is usually about only half of what you guys really have), we engage this wt fleet to have some god damned fun, to only find you've brought four gaurdians and twice as many ships as we've got in our fleet, plus a carrier.
Guess what guys, in the caldari milita a FC is lucky as hell to get just one logi, let alone a properly fit ship. With your meta gaming, overblobbing/hotdropping cruiser/frig gangs, and then blueballing when we actually bring a fleet out of nourv that isn't "easy" for you. You have no one to blame but yourself in the end if there's nothing to fight. I am done. I can't even form up a fleet with just our intel channels without you knowing about it. You create spy paranoia so we just stop bringing fleets out because you always know what we have, bring twice as much, or just run away when there is the chance of you losing more than just one to two ships.
There really is no reason for me to bring a fight. I don't spend hours teaching noobs how to fit their ships/wait for them to go buy a ship to have them overblobbed, hotdropped, blueballed, or just ignore everything I say all together. I'm tired of people not shooting the primary, scouts misreporting intel because they're just stupid or are working for you, or having to wait an hour for people to ship up to have you chicken out or legitimately get bored and go home. Really at this point I think I'm done.
Good day.

I loved Gavin for a number of reasons:
- He was in the Caldari militia and was still capable to talking to me as an adult
- He knew it was a game and where to draw the line
- He generally brought the pain instead of running away
They were good times... and the Caldari militia is hte poorer without you. At least back they stood their ground, and, gues what? Sometimes they won a fight.
The CDI has its strong points and weak points, but all of those aside I had hoped you'd have a similar effect on your militia as our MDP by creating a solid structure from which to organise fleets. it just doesn't seem to be working for you. Hopefully that will change.

+ 1 for the GavinGoodrich days.
We had some great fights against the squids in Gavins time in FW, sometimes we got spanked and sometimes we handed out the spankings - the caldari blobs at the time is what made us get of our arses and live in low sec which was the best decision we ever made. Logistics, teamwork all have to be put into place and it made us a much much stronger outfit because of this - how people can't have a few ships fitted and available a couple of jumps from jita I've no idea tbh.
Most of the time we can ship up / down in about 30 secs!
Sometimes we all take it a little too seriously when at the end of the day allmost of us want to do is blow **** up, preferrably winning but we don't mind losing if it means we get a good scrap out of it.
