Currently watching EVE TV. Working for CCP is a dream of mine and I love how most studios dealing with games and movies work well with each other. Watching this makes me want to work for them even more. I can't wait to graduate from my Computer Animation degree program this year and apply!

Don't worry, they said that's not a problem, and judging by QA, they weren't kidding!

I've thought it would be cool to work for CCP, but wasn't sure I would have anything I would be able to offer. But after seeing the EVE TV clip, it just makes me want to work there even more.
If CCP is half as awesome as they make it sound, there would be no better job in the universe

I'd love to work for CCP, but I don't even know if I have any skills/qualities. :(
I love building things by hand and working on computers. (Specifically building computers, desks, chairs, etc.. Which I have a hard time affording PC-wise.)
I will be getting my two year Computer Engineering degree soon. Only got 5 more classes left. But they've yet to teach me much about PC's.
Sure I know boolean, did basic C++ and basic Assembly language, but that's not really helping me much atm.
Although tbh, my favorite classes were those two programming classes. XD I loved those classes. (My Assembly programming class teacher actively tried to find something to mark wrong on my final, and he couldn't find anything. He seemed rather proud that I aced it, rofl.)

They forgot to mention that they don't actually read CVs or especially the attached cover letter, so they test you on stuff that you didn't list anywhere in it. Good times.

I have been through the process... failed the last step...
First two were mostly about getting drunk, 2nd and 3rd round evolved around oral pleasuring senior personel, then at the last meeting they found that my 7th grade scores were to low, and found my lack of any education and poor rimjob skills to be the deciding factor for rejecting me...

Edited by: Nyphur on 20/06/2010 20:04:50 Working on EVE was always a dream job aspiration for me too, ever since I started playing in 2004. It really pushed me to work hard in university. Last year I graduated with first class honours in a masters degree in computer science from a university in the Russell group, which I'm really pleased with. I haven't done anything with my degree other than working on my own game projects in my spare time but it was great fun. Instead I've kept up my current job of doing the EVE coverage at Massively.com.
I sent a general CV submission to CCP and didn't really expect to get a response but I did eventually get one. They gave me a programming test and flew me over for an interview. I got to see the office and everything, it was pretty awesome. Definitely looks like one of the best places to work I've ever seen, definitely worth moving to a giant volcano for! I was told I'd have an answer on the interview within two weeks, but instead I was strung along for months with a stream of excuses and apologies. Getting information from HR was next to impossible. Eventually I just stopped calling the office to check up on how my application was progressing. The last contact I had was when they gave me another telephone interview and promised I'd get word back "Early next week at the latest", which was about .. nine months ago?
After complaining about how I was treated post-interview, I was assured that my situation was not the norm. I've heard a few too many HR horror stories to believe that, but don't let my experience put you off from applying. I'd love to work on EVE and I may apply again in future but I lost some degree of enthusiasm for the idea after that last bout with HR.
EDIT: Oh, but I got to meet some of the devs, who were awesome :D. Pretty sure I got to chat to CCP Claw over lunch :D

Edited to make it more correct.

Working with Eve online does seem to be a dream job. I live in Atlanta pretty close to the office there but like so many of you I hardly am qualified or meet the requirements that they have. It would be funny to get wife aggro as I headed off to work everyday. :)
