I guess it means that it's not coming out this year.

AFAIK CCP was not even present at E3. But that does not mean Dust will not be released this year. Just that they did not care to show up at E3..

Nicc if you've ever been in big business trade shows even though (in my opinion a waste of money) they are an integral part of showing your company to the state/country/world.
In a year people will forget you even exist if your not there.

CCP never goes to E3, they will however be at Pax2010. They might have something to demo then

I saw somewhere that they would be at GenCon this August with DUST514 info. The CCP booth 2 years ago was pretty well done. Last years was lackluster though.

E3 is for big game companies. not small ones, and i hate to sound like an ass but CCP is small compared to EA, MS, sony, or nintendo

You call a turnover in excess of 60mil a year small company? I turned over 11mil last year and my company is not exactly small. mid tier is what id call both companies.

BTW if they hadnt have flown the worst tournament commentator ever over to iceland from america "you know who" maybe they couldve been at E3 with the money they saved.

Yes? Sixty million is monopoly money... You'd be hard pressed to even call it a mid-sized business. Game development companies like EA have market caps in the billions. Over 5B to be precise. Let's not get started with Activision-Blizzard.
I'd be actually quite surprised if that figure's accurate and that's all CCP turns over in a year. Where did you get it?

E3 is an enthusiast show that's mostly meant for pimping your products to the consumer press. As a developer/publisher, you may choose NOT to spend the large $$ to be at E3 for a few reasons:
- you are confident in your marketing plan - you don't need to sell a new game to the marketplace - you don't want your sweet announcement to get lost in the noise of a billion games
The great thing about being CCP is that you get to call your own shots. :p
