I hope you all set long skills xD!
Pretty swift relocation considering the scale of the implementation you guys are using.
Thanks alot for the time and effort ("and money") you've spent on us to provide us with the service that we deserve. Keep up the good work.

You have to have been idiot savants or extremely naive to think that this was going to go off without a hitch. Quit whining, go outside, go to the pub, whatever- it's your own idiotic fault that you wasted a day waiting for the server to come back up.
This tbh ^^
Last time I had to do something similar to what CCP just did, it took 2 days instead of an estimated 6-8 hours b/c of **** happening...people should be happy they got it done in less than a day.
I've been playing for less than a month. -_-* I had no reference to this, and I had my queue set up so I could inject new skills when the prereqs were done because I'm on the cusp of a new ship, but I have to inject a new skill. I could have gotten up that skill to the necessary level, but my queue has been absolutely dry for going on 5 hours now...

p.s with regards to the amount of downtime, i dont personally think its a problem BUT ccp allways give us a time and never manage to stick to it so they should either not give us one, or overestimate the ammount of time it takes. if the server is back up earlier, we will praise them for doing such a good job. unlike normal where they go over time and lots of boring people come on here and moan about the time its taking ~(even tho most of them dont have the slightest clue what kinda work is involved to migrate a corporate server like TQ)

All the *****ing about extending downtime is pathetic. Maybe some of you should try moving that amount of hardware in that little time. I'm sure anyone that works with these sorts of systems day in and day out understand how hard it can be.
If 50c is that much of an issue to you then maybe you should cancel your subscription, sell your PC and then quit worrying about it. That or get a bloody hobby and go outside.
CCP Techies: you do a great job, keep it up. Want me to bring coffee to the datacenter? :P

The noticable thing is for capital industrial ships before dt it was around 38 days now its 46 days, other example is gallente carrier 5, before 42 days now 56 days..
I hope this is just due to the fact that server is not up yet!

Thanks for your hard work CCP.
@People who are crying: Please notice that 23:00 GMT is 0:00 London Time, which means that CCP guys will return to their homes at 1:00am or even later. I'm not sure that people out of there would like to finish a day this late ... they surely did'nt want it either.

oh gosh, im so disgusted with ppl complaining about dt taking so long. I think 24 hrs away from eve is just healty for you. Indeed CCP should plan such a DT in a random day of the week, so u addicted can re-discover RL. Please do so CCP if u love your fans
I work in a DC and I can say **** happens especially when stuffs are extremely complicated. So I'll give my support to every person working on this big move!

See folks, this guy has the right idea!
Originally by: John Queen The only reason why so many people are complaining is that CCP is a major company and that they have to provide their service at all times or reimburse. Take a look at Dedicated Servers Hosting Services, they do reimburse you when your server encounters an unexpected downtime or when they have to do maintenances.
Okay, but name one single game company that reimburses planned downtime.
Originally by: WhyteWulf A quick explanation of why CCP won't give you anything for downtime: 1)You were warned about it (and your an idiot if you thought it would be back up at 1500UTC on the dot) 2)Its in the ToS 3)Your skill training queue is still working through its schedule (which is a lot more than other game corps would do) 4)it cost about 0.51p or c per day. If your watching your budget THAT much, perhaps you shouldn't be subscribing to an online game in the first place.
Quoted For Truth. Also I coulda sworn that 1500UTC was when the website was going to come back up, not the Tranquility server? D: or did I misread? I swear it was on the splash page they had up when I checked this morning.

Not complaining, but people are entitled to a day compensation. Its overwent a 12hr period so the people who want compensation are entitled to do so.
I have 9D left on my Medium Laser Turret V so I dont mind too much about the down time, but I do hope I get the 1 day comp, as a matter of principle and customers rights.

CCP here is a good business advise for you: be impeccable with your word. If you promise something will be done by the given time, you should be 100% sure that you can keep your word no matter what.
Perhaps in Iceland not keeping a promise is not a big deal, but EVE is international product and many people won't tollerate that. It's just very unprofessional.

Originally by: wizechatmgr As someone that has previously deployed a 400 unit cluster, you people have no clue the amount of stuff required to set something like this up.
You have to pull each rack out, install power, network, do your cross links, hook up no less than 4 cables per server and cut your hands on sharp metal edges. This isn't "A" server, it is a cluster of servers. It isn't like you just move one unit and your done. Now keep in mind they are also overhauling their existing network as well. Frankly, doing it under 72 hours seems like a dream.
Kudos to CCP on this epic attempt to fix known issues :)
And any halfway intelligent person would have had the hardware already installed and warmed up, ready to load the current version of eve and the database. Only halfwits try to do a major server move on this scale the same time they pull the old server.
