I am putting out an open contract to the miners of New Eden. From July 9th to July 18th, pirates, griefers, PVPers, and your competitors will be out there to kill your barges any way they can. They are putting a lot of ISK behind this effort but really they're doing it for the lulz. Take that away from them.
Price: 6b (i am aware this is a large sum, but a lot of this will go to decs. Feel free to pool resources with other miners) Targets: Any corp over 20 members which posts kills to the Hulkageddon III tracking board Method: War dec hunt n kill, proactive anti-gank patrols around common mining areas
NMG. will war dec Hulkageddon participants and get them before they get you and your friends.
NOTICE: Hulkageddon participants have an open "WIN Hulkageddon" contract type open to them. Once a STOP Hulkageddon contract has been arranged no further WIN Hulkageddon contracts will be offered, though previously paid ones will be honored (employer corps immune from attack) |

A simple way to stop it is to simply not go out in your Hulks during the week and keep an eye if it continues for more than a week. It may put your plans behind, but its the best idea that comes to mind. |

Given that hulkageddon is all about alphaing a hulk, losing your ship and laughing as a cb crys over the hulk wreck how do you propose stopping that?
I mean, I suppose you could sit there with an uberfleet on a hulk remrepping it permenantly but that hardly seems um... efficient.

Only way to stop Hulkageddon is to remove all targets from space so they won't even get a single kill during their contest and people start popping their mining alts to get to the winner's price. Let the sharks eat each other. Bear elsewhere. |

Hulkaggedon is a driven players event and Noir. will profit and jump into the event by doing their mercenary job. All in all, they might create more interactions by providing "muscle" to defend poor AFK miners against crazy terrorists.
What will be impossible for a Merc is hunting suicide ganker belonging to a NPC corp. Whatever, the open contract prove that Noir. know their mercenary business and once again that they are profesionals.
Looking forward to see interesting battles in hot mining systems.

This has been talked about soooo many times before. Hulkageddon is an excellant opportunity for new pilots to learn tactics that will allow them to think of nullsec possibilities.
- Choose the systems you mine in carefully. Don't mine in crowded systems.
- Watch local. Watch local. Watch local.
- Be aware of the more common lulz squads. Some of these people are racking up the points. So certain names should raise a red flag when in local.
- Use an intel channel. Not sure if there is one yet, but one should be started. Keep an eye on it and if you see a roaving gang known to be a participant, say it in the intel channel.
- MOST IMPORTANT - Stay aligned. If there is trouble or you think there is about to be trouble. Warp off in a blink of an eye. Alpha strikes generally don't need (or have the time) for scramblers.
Also, if you have a friend collecting the ore or a second account doing it .. even better. If they succeed, have the second ship immediately scoop up the remains of your ship and payload along with anything left over of theres. It could be profitable. ~~ Tethraa KaiSuun |

Finally someone with the brains to not fit a SB , trying to "tank" the gankers has no use, EHP is the way to go miners :)

Your best bet to surviving while continuing to mine is going to be speed and intelligence, not brute forcing your attackers by increasing your EHP.
You can suicide gank a PvE mission-tanked Golem with a few battleships before CONCORD destroys them. Think about that. Do you think a Hulk has any chance? Of course not.
If you stay moving and stay aligned, you will be gone long before any battleship or other ship capable of one-shotting you can get a lock on you. If you see someone you've identified as a potential participant move into your belt, you take off.
This is how it's done in 0.0, and it's honestly no different here. All you need is some preparation. They're not going to be using stealthed tacklers, pointing you, and being insanely coordinated about it. They're going to expect you to be slow and stupid.

I mine 3hulks + 1orca in Hulkageddon areas, and have never been ganked. You got the wrong idea about this. This is a beautiful way to gank lazy miners and bots. If you pay attention you'll be fine.
Align. Watch ships coming into belts. Warp when necessary to safe point, leaving any drones behind. (They're cheaper than your Hulk anyway.)
I've had 2-4 'encounters', but c'mon... if you get ganked it's nobody's fault but yours. (bad fit, not paying attention, etc.) If you're that paranoid, don't undock.
They're having fun, this post is probably linked and causing giggles. Last one didn't the mineral market hard enough... let's hope they do a good job this time.

Jules: The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. Good luck with that. A so-called passive align is nonsense; if your speed is 0, you're not aligned. In fact, you can point in any direction and get into warp just as slow.

What a weird event. People are so tired of losing to people who CAN defend themselves that they go out and kill hulks? in empire?
I always thought that the major aspect of fun in eve was the adrenaline rush that you get from pvping a worthy opponent. This sounds slightly more boring than gate camping. I read that guys blog, but I dont really understand what the point is. Rebel against macro miners and empire "carebares"? Just be annoying?
Why not structure some sort of competition between real combat ships? surely that will be more entertaining for all concerned!

The point is that if you take your hulk to mine correctly each time, then hulkageddon should be irrelevant to your activities.
If you get blown up during hulkageddon, then you were doing it wrong.

Exactly how I used to fit mine....until I stopped mining when all the high-sec ores dipped below 4m an hour. On another note, I also have an annoying sig. |

Interesting, but I would say for the case of the market and ore/minerals and such that a week+ with all the hulks docked (for both protection and simply to cut down on the excess ore/minerals) would do wonderful things for the miners market prices. Perhaps call it a "miners holiday" or something - since miners can't usually agree on a moratorium on mining for the common good - perhaps "hulkageddon" is a good excuse for a mutual reason.
Over all, it would/will be interesting to see what happens over the course of that week, I for one will be safely docked and offline doing a good many things that need doing... and reading the KM/KBs for content to keep up with the score.
