Joy Dealer dealing Joy.
AP bug or not and even after the fact I would manually fly with a 90% webbing alt to speed things up; I would never set off on an afk haul without double checking the route selected.
Also LOL.

Because its a bug?
Selecting "Safest Route" should give you a route that does not include systems under .5 sec. That is, by definition, its function.
Its like ordering a coffee and being handed a cup filled with live snakes. You don't tell the guy with a face-full of venom that he should of checked his cup for snakes.

What? Of COURSE you do. Sure maybe he shouldn't EXPECT snakes but he should always check. Let me give you a real analogy, from real life. Not this snakes business.
I was at a friend's house for lunch recently and they asked if i'd rather have Tea or Coffee. Hating coffee, I ask for tea but guess what came in my cup anyway? Yup, coffee.
Did i drink it all down before going ''I ASKED FOR TEA, YOU'RE HORRIBLE FRIEND!?'' No, I said then and there before anything bad could affect my tastebuds that something was wrong. I was able to do this because I checked first, no matter how much I trust my friend people make mistakes sometimes.
YES there is an AP bug right now but if you've gotten into the habit of going 'Set Destination > Autopilot = Snoozetime!' then you've become FAR too relaxed playing EVE. This should wake a few people up.

Signed.
I use AP often, but most time fly manually to speed my travel up, especially in slow ships. When I first set an AP route yesterday, I instant saw a) the route is unusual short and b) there are shiny red dots within the route.
When I use the navigation system in my car, and it tell me "turn left now" I still take a look to where I drive. If the road is blocked because of road construction, accident or anything else I sure would not crash my car into it because my navigation system told me to drive there. xD

Go back to somewhere that offers remedial reading.
This thing may be easily avoidable in almost every situation, but it is still a bug. And if you never visit the forums or haven't spoken with anyone who's informed you of the bug, then you have no clue.
If you also never leave highsec, log on with an alt, set a 30+ jump autopilot and dont see that there are a few red dots (or one, or worse, they all start after the cut off), then that is somewhat unexpected.
Its a bug, not a feature, and it should be fixed.
If it were a feature, it would be renamed "Generally safer than fastest route, but we're gonna **** you and stick in a few lowsec gatecamps to make sure you get killed 5 jumps out of your destination".
@Allant :
Ok, so you correctly identified one cup of coffee. Lets say you had 30 or 40 people asking for tea and you're handing them cups or mugs of it. If you have been doing this for years, and you've always been given tea to hand out, you'd probably not notice if there was one cup of coffee stuck in the middle of the order.

If it was my job to do so and many people relied on me then you're wrong, I would sure as hell check every single time but you missed out one vital point;
There is no RUSH to select your autopilot. If you take my analogy to the extreme and add in so many warm beverages then yes I might screw up but that's because time is a factor and people's drinks might get cold.
There is NO rush in selecting your autopilot and making sure it's going where it says. If you aren't in the habit of checking it every time then all this bug shows is that you should be.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's a bad bug and i'm glad CCP is fixing it ASAP but that does not mean any accidents that have happened because of it are anyone's fault but the pilot's. It's like never getting your car checked over every now and then, having the breaks fail and saying the manufacturer has screwed you over.

I'm thinking the analogy is more like 'your job is to hand these people tea. This person will hand you 30 cups, you hand them out'.
Anyway, the point im trying to make is if the guy never left highsec and never toggled the 'safer' option off, there was no expectation of that changing.
Its like if, for some reason, a faction cloak activating would also set your self destruct. If you'd never heard of it, cloaked and walked away, thats not really your fault for not checking that it didn't activate the self destruct. Its a clear bug, and I don't fault the guy unless the lowsec stops were incredibly obvious and could not be missed.
I have a freighter alt that makes highsec runs. This alt also goes into lowsec & 0.0. I know I double check because I am used to setting WP's through lowsec & 0.0.
If this guy did not, then he has a reasonable expectation that the action will remain constant.
