Is there a way to use the Passive Targeting while you are cloaked? It would be cool if we can make it like submarine warfare.

yeah like that wouldn't undermine the "targeting delay after decloaking" effect of cloaks ^^

Since there are plenty of ships that can immediately target after decloaking, I'm not sure why this means anything...
OP: While it would be nice I guess to be able to do this - and not game-breaking - there's limited application for it unless you can also activate modules while cloaked - which would be game breaking. ---------------------------------------------- I don't have an alt, but there's a main that would be upset if he heard me say that... |

Yeah, plenty of ships that can do that. Black ops and stealth bombers. Really long list, isn't it?

It would make a huge difference if you think about it.
When you're in a stealth bomber and want to attack you have to uncloak, target, then point (if you're solo). The targetting is the longest part of the process and the only time span which the victim has a chance to get away. If you allow bombers to target before they uncloak that gives virtually no time what so ever for the victim to get away, so an instant point on the victim.
It would also prevent the victim from cloaking his own ship since you have lock, as well as anything else that is disabled when lock is achieved. Pretty big factors to consider before implementing this sort of thing.

Maybe your not aware of a few things...
Targeting time for a SB is fairly quick, I can usually have a target lock before the cloak effect wears off. Also, I typically target last. Uncloak>Paint>Launch>TARGET
With all the modules active before targeting, once target lock is achieved, the rest of the modules automatically and instantly trigger as well.
By the time you are aware of my attack, I'm already recloaking... ---

Going into warp seems to reset the timer.
So you can be cloaked say 160km away from 'zero', align, decloack and hit warp at same time, when you arrive you can targetlock and and surprise them.
