I am wondering what is the better choice regarding ECM-drones. If I take the rupture it has a 30m3 bay and 30 Mbit/sec bandwith.
If I want to jam an opponent flying solo, what would be a better choice? 5 small ECM-drones, or 3 medium ECM-drones?
I know many people would say it is much better to put just warriors II's in your bay, but when facing only one opponent I hope them to be enough to jam and finish him off.

EC-300's have a jam strength of 1 while EC-600's have a strength of 1.5.
5 x 1 = 5 3 x 1.5 = 4.5

Ok didn't know where to find that info. I found the info on the drones on the EVE-wiki but couldn't find the jamstrength.
Thanks for the info. 5 ECM-drones it will be.

chance for 5 light drones to hit a cycle on a rupture: 1 - (1 - 1/12)^5 ≈ 35% chance for 3 medium drones to hit a cycle on a rupture: 1 - (1 - 1.5/12)^3 ≈ 33% chance for 4 light and one medium drone to hit a cycle on a rupture: 1 - ((1 - 1.5/12) * (1 - 1/12)^4) ≈ 38%
so if you want to maximise your jamming bring 4 lights and a medium. This might be a problem against frigates, but 4 lights will jam a frigate quite easily anyway (~32%). _______________________ Drink Eau du Nichup«, the taste of heaven. Now available as Nichup Citrus« as well! |

This, but, even a medium ecm drone is pretty decent against frigs that annoy you, due to the optimal and activation range of the ecm drones.
All the above is prolly crap
