How do you calculate DPS for your ship? Can I see it somewhere? (fit screen or ship info?) if not, how do you know what's your ship's DPS?

EVE Fitting Tool gives both a basic DPS reading as well as more advanced DPS graphs which, while they take some studying to understand, can be useful for figuring out what ranges and such your ship works best at. ----------------------------------------------

Other than just using EFT (which is the easiest way, and has other uses than just looking at the DPS), you can always calculate your DPS yourself from data available in the ship showinfo.
Do a showinfo on your weapons, gun turrets should display both an accurate RoF and damage modifier (alongside ammo damage) on the same page. Multiply loaded ammo total damage by damage modifier, then divide by RoF number, and you get DPS for that turret. If you only have identical turrets, multiply by turret count (otherwise, re-calculate for different turrets). For missiles, it's a bit more tricky. The launcher RoF displays properly, but the missile ammo showinfo (yup, you have to showinfo the missile itself separately when loaded) does NOT include the damage bonus from ballistic control units, but it includes every other damage bonus. With drones, it's worst of all, they never display anything other than base values for some obscure reason, so you have to manually figure in all your skills. At least the drone damage is easy to figure out (and there's usually just one extra modifier on some ships, maximum of 2 types of modifiers if you're also using sentry drones with sentry damage rigs), so you get used to how much drone DPS you're dealing without having to look too hard.
TL;DR - yeah, just use EFT for now, it's so much simpler.

Also keep in mind that the DPS from EFT is the damage in `ideal` situations. If a ship is moving, not at optimal range or a small target your actual DPS may drastically decrease. A ship with less DPS but far better tracking and equiped with target painters may do a lot more damage.

In EFT, create a ship profile that closely resembles your intended target, and use the DPS Graph (Ctrl+D) for realistic DPS.
