Hi Thar :)
Seeing how the old project is dead (http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=838892) and I'm being hit with requests and lots of juicy downloads from people switching over to FGV. It's probably a good time to make a new thread since it's been out for a while. However feel free to EVEMail me with requests or if you're having problems installing. Sorry for all the numbering changes. It's been sorted out now.
So the main changes from the old version to this version are below. Download/Update Files here and some instructions(http://iceneko.com/eve/index.html):
New Install(Yes, you can do brand new installs with FGV): POSTracker3_0rc5FGV.rar Upgrade(3.0.0rc5 to FGV 3.0): FGVUpdate.rar Upgrade(FGV 3.0 to 5.0.1): POSTrackerFGVUpdate5_0_1.rar
Version 3.0 to 5.0.1 Changes:
* Changed version numbering scheme due to confusion with other people's version and mine. We are now on version 5 because 5 is an awesome number. * Added Secret POS feature. People who are allowed to see the Secret POSes are people who are deemed "Highly Trusted" or if they are fuel techs of the tower. The only one that can change "secretive" status of a tower is the default admin account. Functionality added under the edit POS area. * Implemented several security checks to stop low access accounts see or do what they shouldn't be able to. * Added Stront Timer option on the pos track page. * Material Volume updates for: Atmospheric Gases, Caesium, Crystalline Carbonide, Evaporite Deposits, Fernite Carbide, Hydrocarbons, Silicates, Sylramic Fibers, and Titanium Carbide. (Requires a DB update)
Original 3.0 Version to FGV 3.0:
* New Theme. * Updated m3 values to match EVE Tyrannis Expansion. * pos_val.php added to control m3 values if they ever were to be changed again by CCP instead of manually updating 64+ value locations in the code. * Optimal is calculated correctly now on both the POS view and edit pages. * Difference is calculated correctly now on both the POS view and edit pages. * "Available" on POS page now shows what's actually in the database(API should be updated via CRON or manually before making fuel runs/changes to make sure values match what's currently on Tranquility). * Online time is now shown accurately and will still countdown the right time even if the API or Tower is not updated. * Fuel Calculator and Fuel Bill updated to new m3 values. * Liquid Ozone and Heavy Water calculated correctly for POS with sovereign status. (This requires a DB update.) * Total Difference in m3 added in the POS view page to help fuel techs know how much space will be taken on fueling the tower(does not add Strontium Calthrates to the total). * Removed code from the design layout pages and linked back to the actual code to pull data. * Several commented code and redundant functions removed making this POS Tracker a better tool for us all.
Hopefully I didn't leave anything out. :P -FG

Thank you for providing an update.
However, can you please provide an option to use the old colourscheme? The current theme with its pale background is causing me eyestrain and I find the tracker almost unusable due to this |

Upgraded from 3.05rc to FG version...then 3.0FG to 5.0 version.
Seems to be working OK....except....
I have someone who could see POS's just fine and now they cannot see anything. I've updated them to Director and Highly Trusted and they still cannot see a single POS on their account. I've logged in using their user/pass and I can see it is a problem with their account.
Also....our users are really objecting to the new theme. They are complaining about it causing eye strain. Can the old theme still work with your version?

It's on the todo list, more like a color scheme selection. I had a bunch of requests to get rid of the old scheme so I switched it. I've been out for a bit so now that I'm back, more updates that I've been working on are soon to come out. The theme selection will happen soon I hope lol. But the new theme has been liked a LOT more than the old thus why I haven't spent time on bringing the old one back.
I almost wonder if you guys are seeing something else I do not. Like the themes aren't mixing with one another. Hrmm.

Are they and the towers part of the same corp? Also, feel free to contact me in game like others do and we can get a convo going.

Edited by: Frozen Guardian on 15/08/2010 21:30:13 Version 5.0.2 Released. Details below. There were a lot of changes to make all of this so if you notice anything wrong please let me know immediately.
Version 5.0.1 to 5.0.2 Changes:
* Fuel Bill layout now matches what is shown while viewing towers to make it easier to look between the two. * Fuel Calculator now allows you to show the optimal fuel levels and see what's required to match the optimal. Hauling trips included. * Fuel Calculator's "Use Current Level" stays to what you set it at while on the page as opposed to being turned back "on" after looking up a tower. Default is now off due to change. * Fuel Bill now displays optimal fueling by default(new option) as it makes far more sense than selecting days that may not be reachable by all POS towers. Please note that when optimal is on, days filter does not take effect at all. * Massive style coding cleanup(CSS file now 1/3rd the size it used to be and pages are much more CSS clean). * Fixed Secretive POS problem not showing towers for directors. * Fixed write/config greyed out bug for new installs that would happen based on server configurations. * Themes! - The FGV Theme will be default but the old theme and a few others are now available for each user under the user panel. (Requires DB Update) * Tower name is now shown on the fuel bill per requests.
Theme Versions included in 5.0.2: *FGV - Default, what you see today and default for all. *POS Tracker Original - What you used to see before I took over. The theme is really close to the original, it couldn't be exact due to the cleanup but uses the same colors and setup as before. *Majesta Empire *Razor Alliance *Morsus Mihi
Note on Themes: Currently there are four additional themes as you see above. I do plan on adding more when I have time(yes, some of SC and various other alliances, not just the NC) or if people make their own and want me to include there version I will. I made these themes based on the logos of the alliances.
Remember to do your DB update: POSTrackerFGVUpdate5_0_2.rar

Ran the /install.php file and completed the required fields, clicked 'test' and it says
DATABASE OK - Version: 5.1.36-community-log - Hit the Write button to save the configuration
However the write button does not become enabled so I cant click it.

Whoops I forgot to upload the "new" 5.0.2 full installer.

You will still need to run the DB upgrades after install:

Excellent got it working thanks.
I notice in the readme there is a mention of having it auto update by running a cron job on some .sh files. How would I run these on windows as it doesn't recognise the file extension.
I'm particularly interested in getting it to email me when fuel gets low.

Good to hear!
I've only setup cron jobs on Linux based systems so I'm not fully sure here, try the ideas below or maybe it will help you out.
Kinda confusing response here but:
The problem is that .sh are shell script files usually ran on like Unix\Linux based systems so you're going to need something that does this for you. However at the same time since you're on a windows system you can probably just run the code inside the .sh files with task scheduler as shown here: http://drupal.org/node/31506
So you wouldn't point to the .sh files, you would point to like: cron_updatesov.php cron_updateallianceinfo.php cron_updatepos.php
Best way to test to make sure this work is don't manually update the alliance info for a few hours then have your task schedule "run now" and see what happens.

Just for clarification - is cron_mail.php still used to send the mails, or has this now been moved into another part of the script?
Running the cron_mail.php results in a whole lot of nothing being sent :)

Thanks for maintaining and improving this tool.
I decided to go with a fresh install of 5.0.2 but am having problems with api's. Using the installer, when I get to the API step, enter a userid/key (tried several) and click next, the next page takes forever to load. It's as though something is timing out and when the character selection page loads this error is at the top of the page: "Error: String could not be parsed as XML".
The characters on the account are displayed and I can select one, but no pos data seems to load. Doing a POS update from API on the admin panel causes the same 5+ minute delay and no POS data loads.
Any idea what's going on?

I haven't touched the mail feature at all since the original and I probably need to because it's crap. It's on my wonderful todo list among other various changes but I'm going to be very busy as of late IRL(yay fun) so it maybe a bit before I get around to touching this. Sorry I can't help more with it.

Hrmm hard to say as I've never come across this or heard of this happening before until today. If I had a guessing there would be two possibilities, the first being that the API is actually wrong/screwed up and you should create a new API key with EVE(make sure to use full API). The other thing is that your server doesn't support a needed feature.
Make sure during the install that your server supports or matches the following: * PHP version 5.1.2 or higher * cURL extension * SimpleXML extension

No problems. Appreciate the work you have done so far. Maybe when I get some spare time I'll take a look through the code myself ;)

Thanks for the link to the drupal site, works a treat with the wget program. All updating nicely now :)
Are the remaining hours calculated at page display time or are they held in the database somewhere as I would like to try and get these being emailed to me if they get too low but the mail script doesn't seem to work for me.
Appreciate the time and effort your putting into this.

They are actually stored in the database and calculated out from there. So it goes off the API directly so like what's in the database is what's shown in the viewpos area to make sure it doesn't guess how much is in there as what it did in the past. Guessing = Bad

I know heavy water and L0 do calculate perfectly in all versions and functions of FGV. If they didn't I would have some people strangling me by the neck until they did. There is only two small bugs that don't match anything like this so this would be a first.
If you are having such an issue you will have to be a bit more specific with the following information:
What version are you on? Did you upgrade from another version? (i.e. POS Tracker Original 3.0.0 rc5) What page are the numbers not showing correctly? Does this happen with all towers? If only some towers, what model tower is being used and what is the CPU/PG on it?

5.0.3 Released, small fix so no new installer in this version yet. Bug was caused when I made the Fuel Bill page have optimals and forgot that the Fuel Calc page uses the same function of code. Sorries about that :P
Version 5.0.2 to 5.0.3 Changes: * Fuel Calculator bug fixed where days didn't affect the amount of fuel needed. * Fuel Calculator options current levels and optimal levels are now set to on by default.

Hi,
The LO and HW are definitely not displaying correctly.
I installed completely from scratch your versions and all the updates including latest from post above.
Using caldari large tower, current cpu / power matches 100% (5650 / 2250000) between eve and pos tracker and the values for all of the modules match up as well.
All the figures which show on the fuel calculator page are ok except for 21 days of LO and HW it shows 75600 for both of them as total required and 0 for what I need (I have 50k of each in for this test).
Working it out by adding the fuel into the tower manually and looking at the management page, the actual needed amounts are 61993 LO and 57000 HW to get it to show 21d usage for them.

Re-download the 5.0.3 update and apply it and you should be good to go for the most part. Not sure why it worked for me at times and others not but anyhow. For HW/LO under "You Need" is now fixed.
Amazing what 5 letters can do to a line of code.

Downloaded the above again and installed it.
It's now showing numbers in the 'you need' column although optimal is 0 for LO and HW though.
The numbers in the total required column though are still wrong.
It still shows them as 75,600 for both LO and HW for 21 days when the correct figures according to the management tab on the tower itself are actually 61993 LO and 57000 HW (give or take a little to account for rounding) which was achieved by adding fuel to the tower until it showed 21 days.
I tried removing some modules which are offline incase it was not accounting for them in the 75600 but it made no difference.

Wait what? Optimal Need has never had an issue. What does it say when you look at the tower itself? Are the L0 and HW right there and it's just broken on the calculator? I copied what you said exactly and it works without issue.
