I just downloaded and attempted to install: POSTrackerFGVFullInstaller_5_1_2
The problem I am having is when I navigate to the installation directory it says there is no index.html file. Upon further investigation, the file does exist but it is a 0KB file, which also shows as zero KB in the zip file I downloaded.
Can I get a link to a new /install/index.html file please?

The file you are looking for is index.php, your server needs to be set up so that it opens index.php by default, not index.html |

My server is set up to open PHP files by default. I have it set to look for a number of files in a specified order.
Even if this was not the case, there is not an index.php file listed in the installation directory, and the index.html file that does exist is still zero KB (empty).

Its suppose to be empty, according to the installation directions, the installer is located at http://example.com/pos/install.php
Quote: Create a folder on your web-host, ie pos/ . FTP/copy the extracted package to your host. Create a MySQL database and user for pos-tracker. Set proper permissions to the directory structure. cache/ needs read and write access for the web server (chmod -R ug+rw cache/). eveconfig/dbconfig.php needs read and write access for the web server during install. browse to install.php in your web browser, ie http://example.com/pos/install.php. Follow the installer directions. Remove write access for the web server to eveconfig/dbconfig.php (chmod g-w eveconfig/dbconfig.php). Login to your new installation. Done! - No need to do DB Updates

Ok, now who feels like a moron?
That will teach me to try to set these things up at work where I cant focus on the instructions and end up misreading things.
Well guys, thanks for the help. Sorry for the idiotic statements above.

Edited by: Morist Intheli on 03/07/2011 01:07:37 Ok, re-inspired to make this work. When I attempt to use the POS tracker (installed and everything) I get this error
Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "login.tpl" in .../pos/includes/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1088
I believe this is a problem with the template_dir variable in Smarty.class.php, but I couldnt figure out how to fix it. I did track down the .tpl files to .../pos/themes/posmanager and fiddled with that. No luck. Hopefully you know whats broken, somewhere. And yeah, I do realize this isnt a POS tracker bug or anything like that.
So far I've tried fiddling with file rights and fiddling with the template_dir variable. No luck.
Oh, another error in the log PHP Warning: session_start() [<a href='function.session-start'>function.session-start</a>]: open(/var/php_sessions/sess_e4d5b7991e99ef45dd90cf8197d73c30, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in .../pos/includes/eveclass.php on line 252
So I shall investigate

Normally, it a permission error, the web server doesn't have read rights to a directory it needs.
chmod -R ug+rw cache/ chmod -R ug+r themes/ chgrp -R www-data cache/ chgrp -R www-data themes/
I am assuming your web server is linux and the group is www-data here. If you had someone else setup your web server, such as a host, you may want to consult with them on how to give the correct permissions.

Hi,
I had this running on 5.1.1 Beta 1 and when I attempted to update to 5.1.2 I missed the Beta 1 to Beta 2 step and stuffed the install up.
I thought I would just start from scratch, Renamed the /pos dir to a backup, create a new database, upload the full 5.1.2 files and go from there.
However, I cannot even execute the install.php file. I just get a 500 error and the error.log shows the following.
EDIT: Nevermind, I created the templates_c directory and its all good. I remember now that i had to do this with the first install. Why doesn't the install package create this directory?
[03-Jul-2011 21:53:46] PHP Fatal error: Smarty error: the $compile_dir '/home/xxxxx/public_html/pos/cache/templates_c' does not exist, or is not a directory. in /home/xxxxx/public_html/pos/includes/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1088
I set and checked the permissions on the cache and template directories. Any ideas?
Thanks
Harry

What are the requirements to update from 5.1.2 to 5.1.3, when I try i get crazy hieroglyphics in the top of the page and nothing works. When I navigate to Upgrade.php there isn't an option to upgrade from 5.1.2 to 5.1.3.
I have to roll back to 5.1.2.

Any other ideas? I knew file permissions were right, and after some investigation I think group settings are right. Tech support wasnt exactly forthcoming, but it appears they...are. I dunno, they wouldnt tell me what group the web server uses and it's a shared hosting dealy, so no SSH connections for me. Folders are in no group right now (which is group nobody, maybe?) Waiting for an escalation but the initial response was "it's an issue with the php scripting" (though pos tracker worked fine with them a few years ago).

The upgrade.php is only for database updates. Not every update has a DB update. If you look at the patch notes it will tell you if there was a DB update/upgrade or not required. It maybe a ye bit confusing but the upgrade instructions point out the specific updates also. It's the first set of information you hit when going to the website. The installer and updater will probably be changed in the future but that's so low on the needs to be updated list that it probably won't happen within 2011.
5.1.3 -> 5.1.4 Will have a DB update.

I read both your posts. The problem with your setup is it doesn't function correctly with the following line in config.php
$eve_filepath = realpath('cache');
If I were to disable said line my installation has the exact same issues you are having.
Your host must have an interesting setup that is causing realpath to not function like we want it to. It would be interesting to see what the realpath really is but even if I had that information I wouldn't know what I could change to make sure it works 100%. It would probably be easier to have your host change what it's doing if we knew what it was. If they are actually doing something.
But here make a testing.php file with the following inside.
<?php echo realpath('cache'); ?>
Put the testing.php in the /pos folder and go to it.
My realpath is: /home/username/public_html/corp/pos/cache
Mr. Roark may have an idea on a working alternatives because after 30 minutes diving into this I can't seem to make any alternatives work. I can only seem to cause more problems.

/hermes/web09/b1345/moo.valistar/public_html/pos/cache is the real path. /public_html is my root folder.
I did try variations of this when I was trying to set variables using absolute paths.
This is the problem with sessions being borked too?
Thanks for taking so much time to figure this out.
As far as my webhost goes, when they said they were escalating it they really meant "We're done talking to you now." They sent me an email saying my ticket was closed as soon I left chat saying it was the php scripts fault. I love how useful IT staff are.
When I have time I might look at register.php again and see if I cant hack together a fix for that, but I really have no clue on the not staying logged in issue with the phpsession being created and maintained.

Sorry I need more information here and I have a new test for you to run. Make sure this test is run when you haven't modified the config file. If you want we can talk in EVEMail instead of here too. Don't know if forum posts are your thing or not :P
<?php include_once "eveconfig/config.php";

Also what version of the tracker are you trying to install?

Just had a quick look at this today. It looks pretty nice but didn't like how it wasn't using CCP's image server for the structure images so quickly change that. Figured id share the very small change here.
Changed viewpod.tpl and editpos.tpl: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5273861/editpos.zip
Interested in seeing how this project goes on in the future. Only other problem I have come across so far is that the Import structures button does not seem to do anything.

Just going to voice a thought about that. This is not a good idea especially for so many reasons like if CCP makes changes to their website everything breaks, you're using CCP's resources for a static webpage image...over and over and over again, if CCP is in maintenance mode all the images break, and lastly you just don't do this for this sort of thing. If we were like a major service(think OOE) and pulling in character images it would be one thing but not for static images that we can easily toss up to the server. In fact if you look at sites like eve-kill, the character images are locally stored for them too.
As for the import structures button I'm not surprised it doesn't really work. That along with the entire structure system within the POS Tracker needs a lot of work. Something which I'm slowly working on but I'm only 1 Frozen Guardian so it'll be working sometime in the future. I hopes.

Yup you make very good points. My main reason behind it is to save a bit of bandwidth and hdd space.
Also on the fuel bill page when you set the region fliter it doesn't calculate liquid ozone or heavy water usage.

5.1.4 Release!
Note that this does need a DB update! This update does modify the users table a bit so just to be sure I suggest doing a DB backup before doing this update if you have a lot of data. If you do not do the DB update expect a lot of errors on various pages.
I want to thank everyone who did the survey as it helped a lot in seeing things that needed updates that I really hadn't noticed. Several of these updates were put into this version and lots more to come in the next versions.
To a specific survey response: Would like to point out that the "charters bug" does not exist anymore since a few updates ago. On multiple tests API and Manual towers worked perfectly fine in showing charters needed and the only time it hasn't was an incorrectly updated installation that someone directly contacted me about. So if you're still having this issue, I suggest a brand new install. If for some reason charters still do not show up after a new install I would love to hear about it so EVEMail me.
Patch Notes:
Version 5.1.3 to 5.1.4 Changes:
* POS Track's sorting has now be updated to work correctly and can now be sorted ascend or descend. * POS Track's ugly buttons have been removed and replaced by only lovable links on the bottom of the page. * POS Track's stront timers now work 100% of the time. * Users can now set POS Track default settings via their own User Panel. * Only Admin/SubAdmins will now see Alliance/Sovereignty API messages on POS Track page to reduce clutter. * POS Track now shows Last Fueled by and is sortable. * Last Fueled will now reset back to API when API updates API towers. Manually added towers are left untouched. * Industrial Jobs Current and Past load significantly faster. * New global settings options shown under the admin panel. o Hidden Jobs - Can hide certain industrial jobs from everyone besides admins - Selections: Titans and SuperCarriers | All Capitals | All Ships. Anything that deals with these whether it be Manu, ME, or PE Research will be hidden. o Version Checker - Can set so that it auto-checks for new versions and notifies you when you go to the admin panel. o Main Market Hub - Sets what region EVE-Marketdata should pull in prices from. See related below. * The global price list can now be updated via EVE-Marketdata's API under the admin panel. The imported data will come from Jita (The Forge) by default. EVE-Marketdata's prices are only updated every 24 hours after downtime. * Navigation fixed to show Jobs link for all Jobs access levels.
-------- Edit: Forgot patch note that the new Sansha Mothership has been added to the DB.

5.1.5 Released. Silo Link bug looks to be gone for good in this one.
Due to what has changed in this version I'm not going to make a new full installer for this version. If everything goes smoothly by the time 5.1.6 comes out I'll include it then. No DB required so just drag and drop :)
I didn't really think to dive into this just after 5.1.4 was released but I didn't want to put off the silo bug any longer. Plus the whole fuel calc optimal thing has been bugging me.
Version 5.1.4 to 5.1.5 Changes:
* Silo/Production system rewritten. Silo Link bug should be squashed. * Security on Add Structures loosened up just a bit. * Import Structures button works again. * Modifying structures on a tower is now actually logged in the DB. * Adding/Updating/Removing Structures on a tower now actually updates the DB so the tower's CPU/PG are updated. This also fixes the Fuel Calculator not being able to show optimal LO/HW if you had structures attached instead of manual CPU/PG entry. Any tower before this patch will need an "Update Module Info" before it writes to the DB.

BTW, here is a patch that we're using with this product. It just does a quick 'max fuel this pos' thing at the bottom of View POS, because 90% of the time, that is what you're doing. It's to make it easy to cut/paste this information to a notepad for easy JF and rorqual fueling. This product is hard to use with a hauler anyway.
under fgv/themes/posmanager, edit the file viewpos.tpl, and around line 197, after 'Total Difference:' Add the following line: <!--[include file='goonviewpos.tpl']-->
And then make a new file goonviewpos.tpl:
<hr> <table class="txtleft" style="width:600px;font-size: 14px;"> <!--[assign var='uptimecalc' value=$tower.uptimecalc]--> <tbody> <tr> <th>Max fuel on </th> <th><!--[$arrposize[$tower.pos_size]]--> <!--[$arrporace[$tower.pos_race]]--> <!--[$tower.moonName]--> <!--[$tower.towerName]--></th> </tr> <tr> <td>Enriched Uranium</td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.uranium]--></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Oxygen</td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.oxygen]--></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Mechanical Parts</td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.mechanical_parts]--></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Coolant</td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.coolant]--></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Robotics</td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.robotics]--></td> </tr> <!--[if $tower.charters_needed]--> <tr> <td>Charters</td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.charters]--></td> </tr> <!--[/if]--> <tr> <td>Isotopes (<!--[$tower.race_isotope]-->)</td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.isotopes]--></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Liquid Ozone</td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.ozone]--></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Heavy Water</td> <td class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.heavy_water]--></td> </tr> <tr> <th>Cargo needed:</td> <th class="mcolor"><!--[$optimalDiff.totalDiff]-->m^3</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <hr>
I'm sure this would be easy to add if anyone else is interested in it. And don't say Goons never gave you anything.

I'm a bit confused of why you would use this? Max fuel this POS is what Optimal does. Maybe I'm missing something here because not sure why you would want the same information shown twice.

Eh, you don't generally want them have to go to multiple screens. I'm actually okay with redundant information on a page, in this case two different formats. One, very complicated with usage, current, optimal, etc. They *need* to see that, just in case someone didn't do the data entry on the pos. (Usually?)
The second situation is the 'max fuel' option, which means 'I want to fuel x pos', and then they have a text block to look at and not swap a number or miss a fuel item.
It'd also be nice to have towers default to a normal HW/LO3 usage that maybe is setup by the admin. Usually our pos's have usual amounts of grid/cpu used, and empty POS's are very rare. So rather have them show up with some HW/LO3, rather than zero. But don't know an easy way to do that. Different issue, really.
BTW, biggest complain is fueling is the inability to figure out how much fuel to put in on a partial fueling. Like if you have a 20k hauler, or 50k left in your rorqual.
BTW, you do have a great app. -- Kismeteer, carebear extraordinaire

Frozen,
Love the product. Thank you.
I have a few questions about silos/linking.
1. Lets say I have a complex reactor and 4 silos. 2 silos are sending materials into the complex reactor, the other 2 silos are what the complex reactor is making. The complex reactor only makes one item but I connect 2 silos together so I dont have to check it as often. How would I setup this up via the silo arrays?
2. What do the "linked to" fields mean and how do I use them?
3. When I have a silo connected to a MHA, is it considered INPUT or OUTPUT. 4. What about a silo that is connected to a reactor array that is providing materials for the Reactor Array?
5. Is there a way to remote a fuel tech from a tower so the tower has no one as the fuel tech?
6. Is there an option to adjust how many emails it sends you when a tower is low on fuel?
7. When I am editing a pos, what does the outpost option mean/do?
8. Under jobs, why do I have some jobs that were done months ago but still show up?
9. Why do my jobs not tell me who the installer is?

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function ADONewConnection() in /var/www/vhosts/xxxxxxx/httpdocs/postracker/includes/dbfunctions.php on line 71
that generally means you php cli version is not php 5, try typing in php -v in your shell and seeing what it outputs.
PHP 5.2.17 (cli) (built: Jan 7 2011 10:39:29) Copyright (c) 1997-2010 The PHP Group Zend Engine v2.2.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2010 Zend Technologies with the ionCube PHP Loader v4.0.5, Copyright (c) 2002-2011, by ionCube Ltd.
Johnathan Roark is right on this one. However since it looks like PHP is loaded fine, what you will need to do is find out where your php5 is installed(exactly) and put that location in the script. Unfortunately you will need to try a few times to find the right location. Been supporting several different hosts and my god are they everywhere but once you find it it will work perfectly. If you use a common host they usually have it hidden somewhere in their KB or the support team can find it out for you.

That's not what I meant. You need to see where your php is loaded not the php.ini.
You need to change the first part with something like these examples:
/usr/bin/php /usr/local/php5/bin/php /usr/local/bin/php /usr/local/php5
