This point was brought up on another thread but really should really be here as a point of focus for the test server.
To the CCP test server staff
While mirrors are far apart and hard to make a recent idea was thought of in a discussion about mass testing in GD forums. This issue is, with the new skill point allocation system, could the staff assign ~7.5 million allocatable skill points to characters on the test server?
With allocatable skill points, you would not need to mirror the test server as often and it woudl help with those who could not be on the test server regularly and on top of that, it would allow people to train future skill sets and test stuff before they decide on a skill training path.
For mass testing this would also help as people would be able to catch up on skills and fly the ships they want to which in turn could lead to better turn outs for mass testing.
CCP test server staff, I hope this idea could be implemented.

Was gonna say: Oh no, not another one of those threads, but with the new system this is actually a good idea. Although 7.5m SP is probably a bit excessive. --

Edited by: SammyullJackson on 14/07/2010 02:23:32 I know it may sound hard to believe, but I don't want OMG SUPERCAPS LULZ for my character. I just want to be able to fly ships like T2s or higher end BSs (and all their equipment) before committing my time and resources on TQ to them.
As an occasional guest on SiSi, I like the whole "fight club" thing going on, but it sucks when the mirror is months old and doesn't reflect who my character is today (namely, things like the fact that I can't fly BSs right now on SiSi despite having them on TQ, for example).
Obviously, the fact that people can distribute SP may seem kind of an unfair advantage, but this is easily remedied by, say, putting in the SP whenever a new mirror is created -- and that way, a person can only do this skills-in-advance testing every few months.
Also, yes, do this, and you WILL have the numbers you want for mass testing

It would be better to just give 1 month at a time on sisi, say at the start of every month 1 months worth of skill points are awarded to each account on the test server.

All they do is disobay the rules and create chaos in the test server. Complain about how they can't fly anything because they are a month behind. The test server is not made to test your fit or if your going to like a new ship. Its there to test new features and to get rid of bugs in those new features. Not for your personal gain, its there for everybody to help ccp find bugs and test new things out not ready for Tq.

i agree and with that much sp to put into skills i could finaly be able to fly the levi and avatar without training for two weeks...

so they would award about 2 mil sp to each account or more becasue i can train up to 2mil sp per moth depending on the skill. i really like this idea as well, and it would be so much more effective. :)

You can participate in masstest in any ship. You don't need even 1 mil SP for that. You don't need anything special to conduct tests on SiSi - just do your regular things that you do on TQ, and report any inconveniences. If you fail to see, how SiSi is not a babyfightclub, accept my deepest condolence for early death of your brain. -- Thanks CCP for cu |

So an extra logserver report from a noob in a frigate doesn't help with debugging fleet fights?
If CCP are asking for hundreds of participants, it doesn't matter what they're flying, just get the numbers up.

Edited by: el Sabor on 19/07/2010 21:27:32 Although a reasonable amount of SP could occasionally be useful due to the frequency of new mirrors remember the skill system and skill queue needs testing too!

Bad troll! I've seen plenty of high SP players causing trouble on test.

While asking for extra points on SISI so you can test your own fits ect before commiting on Tranq is frowned upon.... he does have a point....
Quote: which in turn could lead to better turn outs for mass testing.
I am sure plenty of people would be much more likely to join in if they could fly something other than the same ship they have been using for months on Tranq.
However it would have to be not such a large amount that everyone can show up in a titan!

Oh look another thread trying to manipulate CCP into giving out SP on sisi so people can help them "test."
You don't need much to be able to join in on mass testing.
And Sisi is not your "training plan" test ground.
Good try though +1

yeah, you CAN, but the thing is you arent looking at what people CAN do but rather what people WANT to do. Something like this will likely increase the number of people that turn up, even if you refuse to accept that

Edited by: Morkopi on 01/08/2010 16:19:29 I think they should just give everyone 250k skillpoints (about what youd normally train in 5 days) per week after each mirror. So that if you havnt used the test server for a while you arnt 2 months behind on training, but not so much that if people are training skills on the test server they arnt training at double the speed and everyone is flying around in titans toward the end of each mirror.

I'd be happy with double speed training on the test server. And it could be done easily without any special coding; just create a set of implants that more or less double your stats, +20 say, and make sure they're only available on Sisi, and not on TQ.

My bad for not having found this thread before having started my own with pretty much the same ideas.
forgive me for I am quite new to these forums. Regardless, I would like to be able to even get ON the test server but unfortunately that is still out of the question even on my 6 week old account.
Would love to see some form of skillpoint system that make it not only attractive to come and help test but also allow for some personal trial and error regarding new skills, ships or modules.
Really look forward to seeing this implemented and being able to join Sisi.
P.S. Could people from now on stop going on about the titans etc? We know, and its been stated many of times now.
By no means am I looking to go extravaganza with the craziest of ships. Just want to moderately try out some new things aswell as contribute to the game and the community.
