EAware make big announcment launching tralers of dragon age 2........... but also proudly boast they will create it more like masseffct 2
confirmed it will only use one main toon that can only be human so you can no be elfs or dwarves and confimred gameplay will be drmatically changing
Quote: Dragon Age 2 isn't pulling just one page from Mass Effect's book. It's pulling several, including the ones titled "conversation systems" and "save game continuity". Information from the latest issue of Game Informer has begin appearing online, and mentions that Dragon Age 2 is doing away with the classic "tree" dialogue system, where you're presented with lines of text that you select, and replacing it with Mass Effect's "wheel", which uses intent as a means of generating almost "real-time" conversations. There's a slight change, though; rather than basing your answers on their position on the wheel, the "hub" will now clearly indicate what tone your response will be; anger, flirting, etc. You'll also be able to carry over your save game from the first title, the events you forged in Dragon Age determining how things turn our in the sequel. Sounds strange, but Dragon Age 2 begins while the final events of the first game are coming to a close, so there's cross-over there. Another change - and this might be the biggest - is that only the PC version will retain Origins' "strategic combat". The console versions will feature a new combat system, one BioWare says plays to the strength of the control pad. "Rather than try to mimic the PC experience on consoles", the GI report states, "Dragon Age II has a battle system more tailored to the strengths of the PS3 and 360." Sounds like your Dragon Age combat just got Oblivioned. As one of those bastards that prefers Mass Effect's more "contemporary" take on the RPG to Dragon Age: Origins' more "classic" approach, I'm digging these changes, as in many places Dragon Age felt like playing a game from, well, 2003. That said, those left upset by the move, I will understand, and provide tissues and hugs if need be. Change can be tough when you liked the thing it used to be.
i am believing you will only have 4 weapons like a swrod and axe and bow and stuff and can only upgrayed them not buy new ones and magic will only work sometimes if enemys have armor or defesnes and if you play harder modes magic will never work cuz all enemys have defenses....
they are ruining dragon age and making a lame console game that suxors and use the name to market the game and try to sell more
the only thing they are selling is themselves as EAware are selling out

Oh Holy One, I agree with your trolling reply. Seriously companies used to be so subtle when they ripped off games, now they just outright and say it?
Edit: So the only change is going from playable races to a single character and the wheel mechanic of conversation which was around from before Mass Effect. Most changes on console, with much less changes in the PC version.

But mass effect had ****ty gameplay in the first place, so I don't know why they're trying to mimic it, sure the story was good, because it's something we're not used to, but the gameplay was pure crap, actually besides the story, the game was very subpar. So why are they trying to make DA:O, which had actually very good gameplay elements, look like a ****tier game?

As cool as this sounds.... I died in Dragon Age 1.
I didn't want Alister to kill himself and I didn't want to bone morrigon and make a daemon child.

People in this here forum know the extent of my hatred for EA. They killed Command and Conquer, simple as that. You however, are using Chanspeak and terrible grammar on the Off-Topic section of a Gaming Forum that I inhabit. It is my duty to respond to these crimes! _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

I would pay double for a Dragon Age version of Mass Effect. And that sounds like what they're doing. Excelsior!

There is no C&C only Red Alert (Original). Downhill from there.

No. There is Tiberium Dawn, Tiberian Sun, arguably Tiberium Wars, and then Red Alert 1. Thats where the franchise stopped being good. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Well those 3 share the same engines as RA1, 2 and 3 from the looks of it. Only played the first 2 and they were pretty good.
BTW, Red Alert 1 is a free download now
Win!

The PC combat is going to be largely the same as in the first. The only dramatic changes in gameplay are to the console versions, which I hear sucked anyway, but who cares about the console version.

My main complaint about the combat in dragon age is lack of tactics. Tactics screen doesn't allow multiple conditions very well, like "if 2 or more allies below 50% then use heal group". And adding conditions on usage of skills so less necessary spells stop being used when mana gets low.
I ended up pausing combat every second to micromanage everyone

Hmmm, says it's only a demo in the description. And only runs on win95/98 :-(
