Can someone give me a quick and dirty rundown of FW missions? It will be for minmatar against the freedom hating moral majority.
Specifically: - What exactly was this nerf to FW missions a few months ago? - How are FW missions different than regular ones? - How much do they pay now (after the nerf) per hour? Is it fun? - What ships/fits would you recommend for a two man team? Can they still be run by 2x SBs or an AF and a SB? - How often are you attacked in missions, and if you get chased out of a mission and fail does it hurt your standings? - How many missions can you decline per 4 hours? - Anything else a noob should know?
Also as a general question, what other fun things are there for two noobs to do? We just want to try pvp and pve without getting blobbed too much.
Thanks.

Once upon a time, you could reject all the FW missions you wanted without taking a standing penalty. That is no longer the case. Now the standard 4 hour timer applies. If you reject more than 1 mission in that period from a given agent, you will take a standing hit with both the faction and corp. However, you do not take a standing hit for failing a mission if you are not under the 4 hour cool down.
Example: Accepting a mission, fail to complete it and ignore it till it expires results in no standing hit. Accepting the mission and simply clicking the fail button will result in a standard standing hit however.
As for pay, it's pretty good. A typical lvl4 FW mission from a Q15+ agent gives around 20k LP on average (lvl4 social skills). This combined with the fact that a faction frigate costs only 10k LP + a dirt cheap tag means it's around 50-60M isk per mission in LP alone. Most missions can be completed in under 3 minutes. In fact if it takes more, you're doing it wrong.
That said there is travel time to consider, the missions are typically 15-20 jumps from the agent and are always in the opposing militia's low sec space. As such, traveling to and from the mission takes far longer than actually running it. Because of this you will want to visit multiple agents and accept 3-5 missions at a time and run them in a batch. They should all spawn within a few jumps of each other. Most of the distance is getting from friendly low sec to enemy low sec, so it's not at all random in the direction it takes you.
The missions themselves are totally different from normal missions. There are three basic types: Kill the fleet commander (a single BS in lvl4's), kill some haulers (between 3 and 7) or blow up a structure. They are intended to be blitzed though you could farm tags in them if you really wanted. They also differ from normal missions in that a beacon is thrown up on overview for all to see in system. It contains the mission name and any ship restrictions. So move fast, you're in hostile low sec and you have a giant "gank me" sign pinned to you.
Because of this fast and stealthy ships are the ships of choice. Stealth bombers, vagabonds and even the occasional black ops are the best ships for the job. The thing to keep in mind is that you will almost certainly be attacked sooner rather than later. So you must be fast and ready to warp out/cloak in an instant. MWD's do work in all FW missions, so that certainly helps get off the warp in point.
Thus far you shall read, but no further; for this is my sig. |

Used to be able to accept and decline missions as often as you liked. Then they "fixed" it so you could accept and then fail missions as often as you like. Then not too long ago they got around to REALLY fixing it, so now declining or deliberately failing missions gives you the normal standing hit (one once per 4 hours per agent is fine, any more than that, normal standings hit). If you accept a mission and let it expire, no standings.

The missions are designed to be blitzed. There are in fact 4 types of missions (although one type is next to useless ): - Kill the commander - Kill the haulers (2-7 haulers, depending on mission level) - Kill the structure (which sometimes have annoying missile batteries that can attack two targets at once >.<). - Recover some intel (An item). These missions are ****ty pay and generally annoying, plus require returning to the agent, so I usually don't do them.

Pay depends on the agent level, and the mission. I know Caldari L4 Q15+ agents will usually hand out 13k LP per mission, and they're the lowest LP missions of all 4 races. Figure something like 3k ISK per LP, and you're looking at an easy 40 mil per mission.

I personally use a Stealth Bomber and a fast frigate/interceptor. Frigate goes in, gets aggro then starts orbiting a structure (not your objective ) at 70-100km. Bomber then comes in and dishes out the DPS. Just remember to cloak up when a reinforcement wave comes in, until the speed tanker gets aggro A cheap DPS cruiser can also work in place of the stealth bomber (I used a cheap-fit shield Thorax), but it'll be slower, and make moving around a bit more annoying.

It varies a lot. I've had times when I've done 20+ missions and not had a single person come in, other times I've given up on a mission or two because of people harassing me. Advantage of the intie/SB combo is that the SB can cloak up and the intie can burn off, so most people give up.

One per agent per 4 hours.

FW missions affect faction standing for the actual faction, not just the corp, after you go up in FW Rank.
When you retire from FW, do the faction standing changes stay put, or do those go away too?

Nah that won't work. Because it is almost certain that a pack of pirates or wartargets will follow you everywhere in order to catch you in the mission or the acceleration gate, tackle you, shoot down the shilds and make you eject from the Tengu (so that you don't lose skills on top of the Tengu).

If your faction standing is 0.0 when you join militia and start get promotions you will end to 7.0 faction standing after you have taken all promotions.
Factions standing stays after leaving milita, same is militia corporation standing.

Read this. It should help you guys with faction warfare missions
It's concentrated around caldari but all you have to do is scout the good level 4 agents out and figure out where they are. Just note it and start those missions.
I did those missions alone but honestly, it's better if you do it with an interceptor and a stealth bomber instead. the inty just takes all aggro and the SB wipes everything out.
For the attacks you get, theres too much factors here but just also keep an eye on your directional scanner ALL THE FREAK'N TIME. Also if you got enough standings (9.0) then you could decline a mission or 2 without losing your L4 agents.

Just fit a SB and accept all the level 3-4 missions you can. Go out into low sec in your near to invincible SB and PWN the missions then return to your agents and collect massive rewards.
Make sure you make insta undocks for all low sec stations you are accepting missions for and as a precaution safe spots in some of the more heavily occupied systems that you get missions for. With the align to BM feature just added FW missions just became so much easier. High sec levels 4s are now obsolete. The cool kids are running FW missions. SCHALAC HAS SPOKEN |
