Like the title says: game freezes for a few seconds whenever I start/exit warp or when I undock. This did not happen prior to Tyrannis and I'm not expiriencing any trouble with other games or applications.

Edited by: SirRalph on 18/07/2010 19:06:19 Same here, but randomly, sometimes even when I have been docked. Game and whole PC does freeze, no error messages, no bluescreen, no blackscreen. Nothing, PC and game just stops responding.
This doesn't happen with other applications or games.

I'm having similar issues the last few days with this. Whole computer freezes up, primarily when using 2 accounts. I'm running ATI 4830 with Catalyst 10.6 drivers. It just started happening since the last patch.

Edited by: Noh Luciola on 22/07/2010 02:53:39 Similar issue - I have had the freeze before but most of the time I some or all of my USB connections.
As with the OP this occurs when I undock, start or exit warp.
If any of you are using XP check the following:
Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer : System (log)
Typically what I see is the following:
Event Type:Error Event Source:Disk Event Category:None Event ID:11 Date:7/21/2010 Time:7:39:08 PM User:N/A Computer:HAMMERHEAD Description: The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk3\D.
There are more details regarding this here:

I'm really interested to see if this is the same issue as I've been butting my head with this for almost two weeks now (since Tyrannis v1.0.3 in fact). I'm running an Asus Radeon 4870... what GPU are the rest of you running and is this anything like what ya'll are seeing?

I had issues similar in the past and i fixed it by lowering the ingame graphics menu for shaders from high to medium or something like that. have a play with it and see if it fixes it

Ok after increasingly annoying problems, I think I figured out my issue. My heatsink was clogged and dusty. I cleaned it out and so far everything seems to be back on track. It was probably just overheating and shutting down. May or may not help anyone elses problems but could be something else to check if it's still a problem for some.

Ok, so after more time ingame, the problem persists. Still looking for a solution.

I've managed to remedy the problem by disabling HDR/Bloom within the EO client. While the interaction of AA and HDR/Bloom may exacerbate the effect, AA on it's own seems stable (thus far - I'm currently running it at x8 I believe).
For reference, I have an Asus Radeon 4870 1GB on a Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P motherboard/chipset running WinXP SP3.
Hopefully this helps a bit!

Disabling Aero did the trick for me. I've a Radeon 5770 and RadeonPro can make profil for games, so it disable Aero when i start eve, and put it back when i left the game. ---------------------------------- - I'm french, sorry if you don't understand me - |
