Originally by: Honsou Blackblade First off, it's Hulkageddon, HulkGank just sounds stupid.
Second, just leave EVE now. If you honestly think this is WRONG, then you really have no idea that this is EXACTLY what makes this game GREAT. While perhaps this is ONLY possible through a broken insurance system which could be fixed by removing insurance payouts for CONCORD kills, that would NOT stop ganking (nor should it). The idea that there is NO TRULY safe location is an integral part of the game that I love.
Also, this prunes the macro miners. CCP should offer bounties and increased rewards for killing AND PODDING them. That would be really cool.
I was so going to pick the name "Legendary Fanboi" instead of this one but I did not want to steal your obvious alt name. I bet you sift through all the trash @ CCP and lick the discarded coffee cups. I am in love with you.
That is all. I fly a perma tank maelstrom with 6 capacitor power circuits. |

Edited by: Jada Maroo on 18/07/2010 05:07:56 As much as I enjoy Eve, some of the posters in this topic are very naive.
I've played... well, every Bioware game ever made actually. I own them all, and have completed them all. Some several times. I've watched over the years and their products have gotten more refined in usability and have perfected the Bioware "style" of storyline, interface, and attention to detail. Bioware knows how to make games, and I believe Mass Effect 2 is probably the closest thing to a gaming masterpiece since Planescape: Torment, another work of art produced by Bioware and Black Isle.
They know how to inject emotion into storylines, how to direct dialog, how to make you feel like a total badass whether you're a hero or a villain. I still get goosebumps when I Youtube the scene in Mass Effect 2 where the Normandy is reborn and takes flight once again, or when I hear the music of Planescape.
People who think TOR isn't a force to be reckoned with simply have no clue what they're talking about. I guarantee you the game will be fun, the dialog will be awesome and well acted, and the interface will be intuitive and inviting to players. The reviews from the beta so far have been raving about it.
There's an idea in this forum that Eve attracts a certain kind of player and that's how Eve will survive. Maybe. I enjoy Eve, but I'm someone who can remember playing Elite dialed into local BBSes. Eve appeals to me because of what it reminds me of, but I'm probably a small demographic. CCP is right to start to try appealing to new blood, but its interface is going to turn a lot of newbies off.
Eve has never had to face strong, competent competition. That changes next March. I'm interested to see what happens. I'll be on TOR.
But don't ask for my stuff because I don't have much, and I'll keep playing Eve. I have a feeling I'll play TOR a lot more though.

Frankly, anyone saying they will quit over Hulkageddon really don't belong here to begin with. The only safe spot in the entirety of EVE is docked in a station.
PVP and getting ganked are realities within EVE, whether you want to engage in them or not.
EVE is a sandbox, gankers have just as much right to **** in your cereal as you do to sit there semi afk mining rocks all day.

No it's not. Banish the alts and it might be.

Also, podkills = End of Character. That would be pretty sweet.

EVE is a cold, dark, harsh universe.

Actually I target the tanked Hulks, because I can generally still pop them cause I have 3 suicide gank alts working together, and it's fun to kill the people who try to not make themeselves an easy target, the tears are more bitter that way. Also I make sure the Hulk isnt a macro miner before i gank it, id rather gank real people who the cost of a new one will HURT.
